Science minister Andrew Griffith found out about general election announcement 'from the media'

Conservative science minister Andrew Griffith told Sky News' Sophy Ridge that he found out the date of the general election "from the media, about 20 minutes before it was announced."
He went on to defend the government's record on migration describing it as a "difficult challenge" that has been "thwarted by the Lords, the law courts, by the judicial system."
Mr Griffith said he strongly doubts the first flight to Rwanda will take off before the election on 4 July.

It's 5 years and 5 years after December 2019 is December 2024 so it's six months before it has to be and you'd think a government doing badly would wait in the hope things improve
