Outline of Experiments:
1. Surface tension of water (water and penny)
Supplies: penny, napkin, straw, water
--Using the straw, slowly put small drops of water onto the penny to create a dome of water
2. Mixing polar/nonpolar molecules (oil and water)
Supplies: clear jar (with lid), water, oil, food coloring (optional)
--Pour water (food coloring in the water makes it easier to see) and oil into the jar
-Shake the jar to see how they separate spontaneously
3. Milk and soap!
Supplies: pie dish, whole or 2% dairy milk, dish soap, food coloring, q-tip, small dish (optional so you can squirt dish soap into the dish and dip the q-tip)
--Pour enough milk into the dish so the bottom is covered
--Drop food coloring into the milk (up to artistic interpretation)
--cover q-tip with dish soap and dip into milk (looks the coolest if you dip it directly on top of a drop of food coloring)
Supplies: Whole or 2% milk, a clear jar with a lid filled around halfway with water, oil (any kind will work), a penny, a few q-tips, food coloring, a pie dish, some paper towels, a straw, and dish soap
