He, the Almighty, says: "Do those who disbelieve not see that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?" (Quran 21:30) To understand the meaning of this noble verse correctly and grasp what the Arabic language implies, it is necessary to clarify some matters: 1. Reflecting on the context of the verses is essential for proper understanding. It seems to the reader that the context of this verse is aimed at refuting the polytheists' false beliefs and responding to their misguided claims. Ibn Kathir, in his interpretation of the Quran, explains that this verse highlights Allah's complete power and authority in His creation and control over all creatures. It emphasizes that Allah is the independent Creator and the absolute Administrator. It questions how people can worship other gods besides Him or associate partners with Him when they see that the heavens and the earth were initially joined together and then separated, and from water, everything living was created. All of this serves as clear evidence of the existence of the chosen Creator who has power over all things. 2. The general forms of expression in the Arabic language are not always meant to be taken in an absolute sense. They can be specific. Scholars have pointed out that many general statements in the Quran are actually specific. For example, the phrase "from water, every living thing" can be specific to creatures that require water, like humans and animals, or those created through reproductive fluids. It does not necessarily include angels or jinn since they have different origins and do not rely on water for their creation. 3. The creation of jinn from fire is their original creation by Allah, just as humans were created initially from clay and then reproduced through sexual reproduction. Since we have no knowledge of how jinn reproduce, it remains possible that they reproduce through their own reproductive fluids. Those who deny this possibility would need sensory, rational, or religious evidence to support their claim, which might not be available. In summary, the verse emphasizes Allah's power in creating and controlling all things. The general statement about everything being created from water can be understood as specific to creatures that rely on water for their creation and reproduction, while it may not include angels or jinn. The creation of jinn from fire is their original creation, and their method of reproduction remains unknown.

@@jasper7 Humans are not made of water if you want to be scientifically accurate. While there is a lot of water inside us, we are carbon-based life-forms and there are no water molecules inside our DNA. You cannot take a bucket of pure water and turn it into a living organism. The idea that living things are made of water goes back to the ancient times, the Greeks already talked about it. Water was seen as one of the building blocks of things around us and it was easy to observe that living things contained a lot of it and needed it to survive. However, it's our DNA that makes us what we are and you can remove all the water from living things and still know exactly what it is based on the DNA. If another sacred book said that we're made of water (and the Quran didn't), many Muslims would point out that this is a very simplistic and inaccurate scientific view, however, since it's in the Quran then we don't understand enough biology...

I presume that you are an evangelical christian and you believe in the doctrine of the trinity and vicarious atonement but not doing good works then you also believe as long as a man who rapes and murders your daughter and then repents and later on sin the same sin or a man rapes and murders your sister and then repents and later on sin the same sin or a man rape and murders your mother and then repents and later on sin the same sin or rapes and murders your wife and then repents and later on sin the same sin and evangelical christian still believes in the doctrine of the trinity and also believes that Jesus Christ died on the cross for his sins that he will be forgiven and will go to heaven and despite continuing to rape and murder innocent people but will still go to heaven as he still believe in the doctrine of the trinity and also as long as he still believes that Jesus died on the cross because you believe that this man is your evangelical christian brethren who you will embrace him but you also believe that good works are just like dirty rags according to your apostle Paul as your apostle Paul also said that faith alone believing that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins they you are forgiven and will go to heaven is your only salvation. According to christian evangelical theology, good works are the consequence of salvation and not its justification. They are the sign of a sincere and grateful faith. They include actions for the Great Commission, that is, Christian evangelism, service in the Church and charity. So Good works is a consequence but not a necessity for christian evangelical salvation. That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. ~Romans 10:9-10 You cannot be saved by your good works, because no matter how hard you try, your “good” is not good enough for the perfectly holy and completely righteous God who alone grants salvation. Nor can you be saved by your moral perfection-no matter how moral or how perfect you are. As the Old Testament prophet Isaiah points out, your righteousness is about as good as a “snot rag”. (Isaiah 64:6 ). I have actually cleaned that up a bit, because the Hebrew phrase for filthy rags, ukabeged ehdim, literally means, “like as rags of menstruation.” Sorry if that disgusts you, but it’s Scripture-so blame Isaiah. The point is, both our acts of righteousness, and the quality of righteousness that we hope they produce, are disgusting to God. So if you are disgusted by Isaiah’s language, think of how God, who inspired Isaiah to choose those coarse words, is repulsed by our efforts to get him to save us. So what hope, then, is there for our salvation? Well, frankly, no hope resides within us. None whatsoever. Ephesians 2:1 says “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins.” That’s how hopeless we are apart from God’s work to save us. You see, all a dead person can do is lay there and be dead, let alone try to be righteous before God.

@@syedhasan5861 Not sure what your point is actually. Salvation is from God. Even Muslims believe this. It is He who holds the keys to eternal life. The question then is how a person may attain eternal life. Islam holds that God judges your good deeds against your bad deeds, and then, maybe you will attain Jannah. Christianity holds that no one can, by their goods deeds, enter eternal life because of sin but more importantly, eternal life, is with God, in His presence. God is absolutely holy and pure. Who then can enter the presence of God? Well you know the answer. Thus God himself provided the sacrifice to pay the price of sin. Salvation then is through repentance and faith in Christ as our redeemer. As for what we can do? Exactly what the Apostles preached..repent and believe the Good News!

@@gusolsthoorn1002the catholic catechism states for a catholic to go to heaven they must believe in the doctrine of the trinity, they must believe in the vicarious atonement, they must repent after they committed a sinful deed, they must do good works and must perform catholic rituals such as attending mass and confessionals. All humans are going to sin even after receiving God's grace after repentance that is why believing catholics confess their sins to their catholic priest on a weekly basis to first repent for the sins they have committed for that week and then ask for absolution from their catholic priest. The evangelical christian belief states for a evangelical christian to go to heaven they must believe in the doctrine of the trinity , they must believe in the vicarious atonement and they must repent after they commit a sinful deed. Saved Not by Good Works To be clear, good works are bad when they are seen as the basis of salvation. A person is not saved by works but by God's grace through faith in Christ. The Apostle Paul explains: For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Eph. 2:8-10) Works are not meritorious. Salvation is "not your own doing" and "not a result of works." Even the faith through which we receive salvation is a gracious gift from God. As fallen creatures, our best efforts are laced with sin. To borrow from Francis Schaeffer, how many finite buckets of good works would it take to fill the infinite gulf that exists between God and us because of our sin? Good works provide no basis for boasting because they are utterly worthless to save. The only foundation for salvation is Christ. We are saved by His works, not ours. To be clear, good works are bad when they are seen as the basis of salvation. A person is not saved by works but by God's grace through faith in Christ. @@syedhasan5861 I disagree with you on another point. Our righteous acts are not disgusting to God. Consider Job, the LORD called him a blameless and upright. Consider Noah and Abraham God also considered them righteous and indeed there are many good people however this righteousness is considered as "filthy rags" if it is used to justify oneself as holy before an absolutely Holy God. It shows your evangelical christianity theology does not have Justice as its virtue!

The quranic claim that we are created from dust is copied from ecclesiastes ("from dust to dust", of course Mohmed misunderstood the source text which makes a philosophical point). The claim that everything comes from water goes back to Thales of Milet. So Mohmed copied every claim floating around and mixed it together in the Quran. 😉

Sorry but that is very irrelevant and prophet Mohammed (pbuh) couldn’t read or write, and from the area he was in, he had no knowledge about the outside world, especially when the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) didn’t have a second language and none of the evidence you provided matched the history of prophet Muhammad (pbuh). So he was never able to see any of the quotes you claimed as evidence.

No human ever can produce a scripture like Quran. Quran is beyond human capability. The Quran is in fact so uniquely erudite so singularly eloquent, rhythmic beyond poetry, profound beyond prose it truly is an inimitable literary miracle. The Quran is the most perfect of all books ever to exist. Hence, it is not possible for anyone to replicate it. The Arabs during the time of the Prophet (PBUH) had impeccable knowledge of Arabic and poetry. According to Arabic linguists, those generations of Arabs had complete mastery over the Arabic language. Despite that, they were simply unable to cope with the challenge of the Quran. They could not match its unusual sentence structure or rhythm. The Quran moves people's hearts, even when they don't understand it. Even the greatest of authors in history have been copied. People have written fabricated works under others' names. However, it has not been done in relation to the Quran and will never be achieved. And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful (Quran. 2: 23).

Indeed, Allaah challenged the Arabs to bring one Surah like it, but they were unable to do so. What is meant here by 'like it', is the similarity in eloquence and fluency as stated by At-Taahir ibn ‘Aashoor in his Tafseer (interpretation of the Quran). The linguistic miracle of the Quran is not limited to only one aspect of language apart from another; rather, it is miraculous in the following aspects: articulation, formulation, style, quality, eloquence and sound. Shaykh Mannaa’ Al-Qattaan said in his book ‘Uloomul-Quran (The Sciences of the Quran): “The Arabs were unable to imitate the Quran although it was not different from the patterns of their speech. The Quran reached the summit in front of which the linguistic ability in humans remain incapable with respect to the following: words, letters, composition and style; the consistency of its letters, charm of its expressions, the sweetness of its style, the tone of its verses; taking into account the requirements of the circumstance in ways of expression, in nominal and verbal phrases, in negation and affirmation, in mentioning (something) or omitting it, when something is mentioned in a definite or indefinite manner, in mentioning something at the beginning or mentioning it at the end, literally or figuratively, in periphrasis and brevity, when mentioning a ruling that applies to everyone and when it applies to someone in particular, when mentioning something in general and in a specific manner, and in the text and in understanding the context (i.e. concluding the meaning from the context), and so on.” [End of quote] Therefore the comparison between the Quran and the words of humans is not possible and the difference between them is like the difference between the heavens and the earth. If humans compose poetry or prose, as soon as they start it, they soon end it, and if they prolong the speech, weakness appears at its end and critics start to direct their arrows against it such as the case in literary criticism, whether in poetry or prose. Many books in the past and present have been written about the linguistic miracle of the Quran, the most important of which are: I’jaaz Al-Quran by Al-Baaqillaani, and I’jaaz Al-Quran by Ar-Raafi’i. We cannot mention here examples of this miracle in details, but if you are fluent in Arabic, then you may read the above books. An example of periphrasis and brevity is what was mentioned about the stories in the Quran, as the Quran mentions them in various fascinating manners. Take for example the story of Moosa (Moses) the Quran mentions it in detail in Chapter Al-A’raaf [Quran 7] while in Chapters An-Naazi’aat [Quran 79] and As-Saaffaat [Quran 37], it is mentioned in brief, but it fulfills the purpose. Also, among the miraculous aspects of the Quran concerning the power of similes is what the scholars mentioned as an example on this. Allaah says (what means): {But those who disbelieved - their deeds are like a mirage in a lowland which a thirsty one thinks is water until, when he comes to it, he finds it is nothing but finds Allaah before Him, and He will pay him in full his due; and Allaah is swift in account.}[Quran 24:39] [Note: this is a translation of the meaning of the Quran, the eloquence and miraculous aspect are only apparent in the Arabic text of the Quran]. In this verse, there is expression of an abstract meaning in a tangible way, and both are used to illustrate the inability of achieving what the person is imagining while he is very much in need of it. If it was said about its meaning, 'the onlooker thinks it that it is water, and then it turned out that it was contrary to what he had expected', then it would be eloquent. Of course, more eloquent than this is the wording of the Quran, because a thirsty person has a greater desire for his expectation to come true. Moreover, after this disappointment, the person gets his account which leads him to be punished forever in the Fire. Also, resembling the actions of the non-Muslims with a mirage is a good simile, let alone if this is supported by good composition, sweetness of the words, abundance of benefit, and the correctness of what it (the simile) signifies. We cannot go along mentioning more examples about this, but you may refer to the books that we have previously mentioned in order to find out more.

(25:5) i.e., they tell lies against the Messenger and say things contradicting one another, but all of it is false, as Allah says, انْظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُواْ لَكَ الاٌّمْثَالَ فَضَلُّواْ فَلَ يَسْتَطِيعْونَ سَبِيلً Look at the parables they make of you, so they have gone astray, and they are not able to find the right way. (17:48) Once they have gone beyond the bounds of the truth, whatever they say will be in error. They used to say that he (the Prophet) was a sorcerer, a poet, a soothsayer, or a madman, then they settled on an idea proposed by their leader, an individual known as Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi, when: إِنَّهُ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ ثُمَّ نَظَرَ ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَاسْتَكْبَرَ فَقَالَ إِنْ هَـذَا إِلاَّ سِحْرٌ يُوْثَرُ He thought, and plotted. So let him be cursed, how he plotted! And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! Then he thought. Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; then he turned back, and was proud. Then he said:"This is nothing but the magic of old." (74:18-24) meaning something that had been transmitted and passed down. So they dispersed having agreed on this opinion, may Allah punish them. They may bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection, and also of the burdens of those whom they misled without knowledge. Evil indeed is that which they shall bear! Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him; so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadîth (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not!

The discrepancy mentioned was, did Judas Iscariot die by hanging (Matthew 27:5) or did he die by falling and bursting open (Acts 1:18)? There is no contradiction surrounding Judas' death, but rather two descriptions given by two different authors of the same event. He hung himself. In the heat his body bloated, fell and burst. One author saw him hanging. The other saw his first body on the ground. This is more proof that the Bible is true because they did not try to coordinate the events to match, but told what they saw with their eyes.

There's a variety of problems of using this verse to claim that water is the origin of all life. The first part is it's not entirely true. Water helps but it's not enough on its own. We're carbon based lifeforms not hydrogen based. So the primary thing you will need is carbon and an energy source which is the Sun. The fact that the Quran does not mention the Sun as a source of life is very damning indeed. And the second problem is it's interpretation. Muhammad lived in the desert and to them it is an obvious assumption that water is important for life because in the desert without it there is no life. So that is why they thought this way
