I have both Scilla (blues & pinks) and muscari ( blues, purples, whites and variegated green/white-white/blue) in mass plantings throughout front and back….very beautiful. Highly recommend! I divide up every year and plant in bare spots, the bulbs start growing on top of each other. I find they do well in rocky soil and my front driveway is lined with large wooden beams that have deep cracks that I put soil in and divided bulbs from the yard and stuffed in them 6 years ago. It looks beautiful. They also look really good with Candy Tuft and spring bulbs such as Daffodils, Tulips, Hyacinths and Crocuses. All easy care😊 I do shear my Candy Tuft after flowering to keep it from getting leggy. The White variety does well for me as I have tried the Pink variety twice and it died both times…not sure why?

Tina, thank you for the lovely, informative comment. With regard to the pink Candytuft, it was a spontaneous mutation that has proven to be less vigorous than the white. If you keep trying, you may luck upon a particularly strong plant. I would also try to grow some from seed if you can find pink seed.

Robert, sorry for the delayed response. Scillas are great for pollinators because they bloom early when other sources of nutrition and pollen are not available.

@@BarbaraMelera thanks I grow Scilla siberica and I know they attract early bees (if the weathers good in England!) my Litardierei are starting to form buds so I guess I’ll see the Bees on them soon 🙏🏻
