A friend of mine drove his moped all season and we live in North Dakota, aka it gets pretty brutal here. Somehow he was always the one who could get through a snow storm and the bad weather. I always thought it was halarious
If you ride like you're on egg shells and be patient it can be done. I've done many times riding my Vespa to work in the snow. Also allow extra time for journey so you're not tempted to ride faster.
I can see that you do not have ABS brakes , thank goodness. If you had ABS brakes, you would have no brakes at all on snow/ ice- not to mention on gravel, wet grass, slippery surfaces in general on a motorcycle. Been there. It’s the reason I got rid of my BMW K 1200 LT. You could not turn the ABS system off. I bought a Moto Guzzi after that horror.. moti guzzi as a button on the dash turn the ABS brakes off when on slippery places like wet GRAS going downhill, gravel or cinder back dirt roads going downhill, snow which I have been caught at work on my motorcycle in the snow four times, thank goodness I was not on the BMW those days..
Let see, that was 2013, 6 years ago. I'll hope you learned something. 35 years ago I did the same, but with a dirt bike and for sure dirt bike tires, that is a difference. But I understand, when you are young you believe you have to go somewhere, do things and go places, otherwise it could be (who knows), she change her mind. It is absolutely not important if you can handle your bike in snow. Important is if Rosalie in the snow, in her KIA Sedona, with all the screaming, kicking and fighting Kids in the car, McBurger in the left, Coke between her legs, and Cellphone in the right, is still able to handle you.
Then the motorist that ran over the scooter would get a manslaughter charge for following too close for bad conditions. Why would someone run someone over when they fell and why would a car have to brake that fast to avoid running them over? Scooters only go about 35-40 max so if a car can’t stop that fast then that’s the cars fault automatically.
