I had the opportunity to contribute to the funding for this piece. Even better, I performed this piece for the premiere of it at the 2012 LGBA concert in Dallas. I was given the opportunity to play the clarinet solo at the end of the piece. I was so excited and pleased that my Mother and sister both attended.
It would be amazing to do a score study on "Stonewall: 1969" by Randall Standridge, which was also commissioned by LGBA for the 2019 conference in Orlando, FL
it was my pleasure to go into the story of the work's beginnings and to highlight all the wonderful music and feeling of community that bands like the LBGA make possible.
