Ha ha..looks like we have similar travel destinations..Mangaluru..but for me the route is just awesome..towards Yallapur,Gokarna cross and entering the coastal 4 lane route with the sea on one side and beautiful cities along..Udupi being the best,Sri Krishna Temple..nice video and again I can’t drive that delicate..your driving is amazing..
Very nicely done video without drama and exaggeration . Wanted to check how it performed in highway corners and lane change maneuver (I am not talking about sharp corner or reckless lane change ). I am bit skeptical of its performance due to body on frame.
Great Video and great car too. My only issue with the car is the absence of a blind spot monitoring system. Even in XUV700 there is no proper blind spot monitoring system. To me its a big let down, otherwise it's a great car. If I have to nitpick again, the rear lights look exactly similar to Volvo XC90, if you park both cars side by side, hmm, I don't what the Volvo guy thinks. It would have been great if Mahindra had something different there
Hey Aravinth! This is a part time 4WD system, so its 2WD by default. This mileage is in 2WD mode. 4WD is strictly for off road situations and max permissible speed on road with 4WD system ON is limited to 50kmph, that too for limited time, to avoid damage to the 4WD engaging gearbox. Off road where your speeds will be below 60kmph and mostly slippery surfaces, you can keep the 4WD system engaged for longer time. The owners manual is very clear about this.🙂
@@mukulslens sounds good. But when I test drove Scorpio N 4WD, I disengaged the 4WD, I don’t remember seeing the mountain logo on MID. I may be wrong. But do check. What does that mount logo on lower left of MID mean ?
@@CaptAra Mountain logo is for normal mode, its the default mode, the logo is always present in the MID even in regular 2WD driving conditions and the light on the mountain logo stays ON even in the 4Xplore selector. 🙂
Congrats on your new set of wheels. 80kmph in 6th gear at 2000 rpm for a 2.2 diesel mill is not that impressive. Just to put things into perspective, Safari Storme which also runs on a 2.2 Diesel and has much more kerb weight than the Scorpio does 110 kmph at 2000 rpm in 6th gear. Hope the road condition in Charmadi ghat is good and they have patched up the roads.
Thank you! Roads are in great condition with few patch works underway. Certainly the best route as of now till they finish roadworks on Shiradi Ghat. ☺
If you carefully see, rpm is around 1700 at 85 kmph. At 100-105 kmph on 6th gear the rpm reaches 2000 in my experience. Also you can't compare BS3 diesel engines with BS6, performance is slightly compromised to incorporate emission norms.
Hey Sudheer, the 4WD model don't get any drive modes. The power delivery is unrestricted. So if I were to make a direct comparison in terms of drive modes, this would be ZAP/ZOOM where the power is unrestricted.🙂
Hi Can you please answer my questions 1) Is your car manual or automatic if automatic then what could be the possible mileage of manual 2) Your 4X4 car did not have any modes and 18inch wheels so lets say if I have Z8 with 17 inch wheels and manual what could be the mileage in same circumstances. 3) What is the best Tyre pressure to gain maximum mileage. Please answer my question It would be great help if you can answer
1) This is a manual transmission. Expect a mileage of 15.5-17 kmpl if driven at 90-100 kmph on highways. 2) Yes, the 4x4 has no drive modes and this comes with 17 inch wheels. Z8 with 17 inches can surprise you with the mileage. Check some of my other videos to see possible range. 3) I use 31-32 PSI as cold tyre temp for most of my drives. I have found 32 PSI as sweet spot. Make sure to subscribe and check other videos as well. I usually do a mileage check in most of my long drives. Thanks.
Hey man, I'm planning a road trip from Murudeswar to Bengaluru with my wife and kid in my venue. Can you advise which route to take in terms of safety, experience and driving comfort??
Hey, would highly recommend Murdeshwar-Siddapur-Ranebennur then NH48 to Bengaluru. This road is very scenic, although it does involve quite a bit of twist and turns for about 50kms. The other route via Hassan-Agumbe Ghat-Kundapura-Murdeswar is good too, but frankly this route can get boring at times(since there is a kid along). It's personal view of course, both routes have sections of Ghats and Good highways, so difficulty level, comfort of both would be more or less, the same. I would personally take the route via NH48. 🙂
Murdeswar to Honnavar - well paved 4 lane highway. About 30km. Then about 100-150 km 2 lane, including Ghats. Then you have 6 lane highways all the way to Bengaluru. The situation is same if you chose to go via Hassan as well. The good part about this route is once you reach Ranebenur you hit 6 lane NH48. The Hassan route is a 4 lane highway. So majority of the stretch is 6 lane. 🙂
Good video, please make another one where you are actually unleashing the 2.2L beast on the highway. Need mileage information for the case when we are mostly pushing the engine. Thanks 🙏 Btw, how many days did you have to wait after booking to receive the delivery? My brother has booked this model recently.
Hey Sanith! Congratulations on your purchase. 🙂 Both are amazing SUV's, trust me XUV700 isn't a purchase you will regret. It's handling is a dream in 7 seater SUV segment of it's class.
Hey Gowtham, to be honest, body roll is very much evident in ghat roads. Cornering stability isn't the best when compared to similar size cars like XUV700. As for overall highway driving dynamics, Good on highways, feels stable.
Charmadi ghat is narrow road to reach mangalore, skalespura road is better to go mangalore nd could've got better mileage, anway nice see this video to take decisions to buy this car ,nd once again thank u❤
@@mukulslens ohh ok, and any info on how to activate ecosense? Every video of Z4 i have seen in RU-vid they have activated ecosense but i can't see it in my car. How to enable it? Should we download any app in our phone prior to it?
@@shashankars3632 Ecosense is an inbuilt app and requires no external download. I believe in Z4 it displays Ecoscore in the MID. To see, scroll through the list from the button on steering wheel. Ecoscore is displayed with a number below leaf symbols. Hope this helps.
@@shashankars3632 In that case, go to settings by pressing the setting button below touchscreen. then in display select show time/clock when power off. That's how I did in my car. Hope this helps you too.
@@mukulslens Have you considered Tata safari?. Why you chosen Scorpio N compared to safari?. I am planning to buy a suv.. I am looking for scorpion n or safari.. Any suggestions?
@@joyalgeorge Safari is a very comfortable SUV, more than ScorpioN. Service experience of TATA has not been very great for me personally, Service exp of Mahindra isn't world class either but I had XUV500 and I found Mahindra service to be better than TATA. also ScorpioN seems more solidly built than Safari, basically if you are prioritizing comfort in SUV, Safari is a clear winner. If you want a tough SUV and are interested in doing moderate off-roading( this was my criteria) go for ScorpioN. Service was my personal experience. Hope this helps your decision. 🙂
