I have about 30-35k miles on my 950 and just got the 960. IMO, the 960 has a better visor (less wind buffeting), more vents, has the little fabric on the bottom of the helmet, the padding feels different (not better or worse). IMO the sun visor operates easier and smoother on the 950 and the 950 feels lighter. The new lock to lock the chin section in the up position makes no difference to me as I don't ride with it up. The new 960's sun shield just feels cheap and more difficult to operate. The 960 is fine but if I had it to do over again I'd just buy another 950 on clearance. I always use the sun visor and the new one kinda sucks to operate.
@@rawb_ent I always wear ear plugs on my bigger bikes. It's not a quiet helmet. There is no real difference between the 950 and 960 regarding noise. I'm back in Thailand where I leave my 950. 10 days using the 950 every day after using the 960 in the US. I much prefer the 950.
Great helmet. Has been on the European market for over a year now, and at half the price (Adx-2) I purchased mine online to replace my well used At-950. It’s lightweight but doesn’t have the same level of quality as its predecessor and if given a choice I would purchase another at-950 but overall it’s a great helmet for summer/fall atv riding.
After getting mine and riding last week with it, I find it heavy and hot at the back of my neck. It's my first flip-up helmet so I knew it would be heavier than a standard ADV helmet, but not this heavy. The tight seal it creates around the back of the head to reduce wind noise amplified my exhaust sound and made the back of my neck sweat. I'll be looking for a standard ADV with both a shield and internal flip down tinted shield next time. I'd rather deal with more wind noise than have a boat anchor on my head.
I have a Scorpion helmet.. the exo-gt930... sometimes I like to drink and then come home and put it on for fun. I wonder if the AT960 would be more fun or less fun than my own.
Honestly it's fine, the only thing I don't like after one season is that I have a large head abd a good chin and the chinbar is too close to my linking. The rest, it's a fine helmet in my real world use. I just ordered an AT-950 to replace it as I change ym helmets yearly in my line of work.
