Not that you didn't have a top person like Uli to make some good material out of him but because of your quality and respect the result is nice as this. Thank you for offering us this rich interview of our beloved soulful guitar hero.

My hero ULRICH ROTH. You had to have been there back in '74. The SCORPIONS were breakin in the U.S. I was a new guitar player at the time and in 6 months this guy changed guitar playing going forward. Every player was just hearing SAILS OF CHARON and VURGIN KILLER on the way. I had never heard neo-classical harmonic minor lead guitar( except the swedish band FOCUS). ULRICH ROTH was ahead of everybody at that point. I still study his classic scorpions tracks and his first solo album. I love the style of that music it is just very cool. ❤️❤️🎖️❤️ S

I agree 100% with Mr Roth. When something is free it's perceived as having no value. When you don't pay for something you don't support it. I remember my brother's school mate (with rich parents) bought his own drum kit by doing a milk run. He still plays drums 35 years later. Had he been given a drum kit he probably would have given up a couple of months later. Good interview and good interviewee, thanks

I have to disagree in a halfway, though. I was "given" my first and only drum kit back when I was 7, over the years I've been re-building and upgrading it with by own work and money... I am almost 22 and passion hasn't (and won't) left. My point is, it all depends on the person who's behind the kit and his/her conviction.

Wise words from a great artist , love your attitude, spirituality and deep love for music. We desperately need more musicians with a deeper vision. I do believe that we are spiritual beings having a human experience but in a spiritual world. Our society indeed focuses on materialism but deep inside everyone is craving for some soul food and your expression of music for me is one step closer to heaven. A transcendent thing that sticks onto our core. Keep rocking! Wish you well 🙏🤟

Uli's got his head in the clouds and his feet on the ground. I love the man. His music is ever expanding. You see the live club shows he does and then Rockpalast or something big and there is a difference in quality. He's slogged it on out there cause he loves playing. And I'm sure some nights he just says, beep, and experiments with his band or on solos. I'd love to be there in this special concert on an island this coming Summer with Nigel Kennedy and others. I hope they are all feeling supersonic that day and it is recorded. In high quality!

Thank you very much for asking him about piracy, i think one of the reasons why music listeners or even new generation of musicians would take everything for granted is because the professionals are not talking about this matter, piracy is a huge ethical problem which needs to be discussed on every level. I had been a part of this thing for over a decade in my field of work, regardless of the circumstances i was in, It became a part of me because I saw all my seniors doing it. Once I realised how devastating it is I went into a sort of self rehab mode and withing a year i was a totally different person. I am probably the only musician in my whole country who has been talking about this matter whenever and wherever i get the chance to talk about it.

„Another Brick in the wall“. Ich glaube damit würdest du auch im Mainstream mehr Beachtung finden. Nebenbei werden solche Jingels gerne in TV Filmen verwendet. Mein Lieblingslied: Enola Gay, es gibt meiner Ansicht nur 2 Songs in der Rockgeschichte, die Kriege sehr emotional intertonierten: Machine Gun und Enola Gay! Uli, mache bitte immer weiter . . .bist ein toller Typ.

Rock is not Mains Stream that’s why. I love certain rock, not all types of rock. Nowdays, when you ask a random person, how do you imagine rock music and the people who make it, there response is, guys with dark color shirts and long hair screaming loud. We need a fresh coat of rock like in the 70 and early 80s. Geta Van Fleet is that fresh coat. Beautiful songs with great appeal of fashion dress.

What happened was....Rock Music was a lot better (and often a lot worse) when crusty old Mafia dudes ran the music biz. This is because they really didn't know what kids wanted in this young genre (that was already mutating off in multiple different directions). So what they did was use the spaghetti test, let the artist cook spaghetti and see if they come up with something that'll stick to the wall. A lot of records that NEVER should have seen the light of day were funded, but with the maximum freedom of creation, real greatness and experimentation by true artists, was supported and fully funded. They'd take the good and throw even more money at it (especially when it came to promotion expense). Contrast with today where this new breed takes an assembly line approach using about two dozen international song writers, connect them with proven production and interchangeable pop stars... and everything that ends up being produced is designed to turn a small profit in a very difficult modern media market. It also means everything kind of sounds the same...They literally took the gambling element out of new music... SO to find new ROCK you have to go hunt for it in the INDY market or hope to catch some gem on college radio. I saw all this coming in the mid 90's, I noticed when hanging at music clubs that book only unsigned, or fresh up and comers...That no one was really rocking out.

As a lifelong rock fan, I must agree, sadly, that rock is dead. If anything, it's being kept alive by those born between '45 and '65. There are no new bands coming to the fore with the calibre or 'danger' of those that Roth mentions. Even 80's bands like Crue are touring the old material - nothing new.

No way a haircut, he was a bald as a coot! It looks great in the live stuff, with the bandana. Could be this new type of hairpiece where it's based on a mesh which is then attached to the scalp with medical-grade glue? A friend of mine has this and it's amazing because due to the mesh, under light you can see the scalp which means the whole thing is incredibly realistic. I doubt he'd have enough donor hair for an implant that effective, so I'm going hairpiece! Nice job, he deserves to look / feel younger, he's a legend.

No rock is not dead they said the same thing about punk rock as it faded into somewhat obscurity throughout the 80’s but they were extremely wrong It returned with the fury right ? and Rocks counterparts roots and branches will always be alive in one form or another it’s absolute foolishness to think otherwise just because people don’t understand perspective and they don’t understand how things go through ups and downs Lowe’s in peaks they don’t interpret what’s going on right now every 10 to 20 years rock explodes and exploded in the 60s and exploded during the Greensboro and it will explode again no doubt about it Sadly too many people that don’t know any better only know what they see and what they know in front of them only which is amazing because the Internet gives you more information then has ever been available in the history of man and yet people know less go figure

Music lamed out, Uli and many talk about it being more of the same thing, but they are wrong. Music these days changed over the last 25years slowly to this no hooks, blah, bland, weird, bs. It definitely isn't catchy, what is popular these days is so uninteresting, especially if you experienced the 70s and 80s. I could see a kid thinking this new stuff is cool but they never got into Metallica's Ride the Lightning album or heard Yngwie's Far Beyond the Sun, they don't even know Blondie's Call Me. Funny thing is the people that made the old cool stuff can't seem to make stuff like it anymore. The music industry is depressing these days.
