Enthusiasts across the globe are gearing up for the largest Loch Ness monster hunt in 50 years. The Loch Ness Center in Scotland says the two-day event will use new technology to scan the water for the legendary creature. Washington Post reporter Justine McDaniel joined CBS News to discuss what participants can expect.

It's about 25 to 40 feet long. Also a crocodile type creature has been seen. But does anybody know for sure. Need to wait until somebody gets really good film footage.

Last week, Japanese scientists explaced... placed explosive detonators at the bottom of Lake Loch Ness to blow Nessie out of the water. The most logical theory I've seen is that it's schooling sturgeon. Loch Ness is a breeding ground which is linked to the North Sea by a narrow channel. Marine sturgeon grow huge and 3 or 4 together with their ridged backs breaking the surface fits the description of many Nessie sightings.
