I just bought this and noticed your review. Thank you! I have been looking for a light wargame that crosses over into Biblical time periods, so this was definitely a pleasant surprise and an interesting historical piece. I know how much time and effort goes into making a game like this so I hope they make a profit to design more. Thank you!
I like your reviews very much ! I’m from Ukraine . Subscribed on your channel several years ago. I like how you present games , you have nice voice that helps to enjoy the narration. Also is evident that you have significant experience in this area. Thank you for your channel ❤️
Glad to hear you like the videos, I enjoy making them. Of course I sympathize with what is going on over there and hope the Ukraine emerges victorious.
Avalon had more in the system and so have other companies. They just did not not use the "Storm Over" in the title. Done by Avalon Hill without the "Storm over" in the title... were the battles of Casino, Stalingrad and Normandy. I have an Antietam and a Waterloo game using a similar system by other companies
My copy arrived about a week ago. I agree with your opinion on the rules booklet - super well done. Components and map are also polished. And cards as you say add a great deal of atmosphere and story to the game. I have yet to actually play it - even though I've had the map laid on on my game table (now for a couple of days). Always wanting to get to it, but having a million and a half other things eating up my free time. Thanks for the excellent review as always. I think the only small drawback on the game, it was a bit on the pricey side - given its size and counter density. But offset with very high quality components and clearly a good amount of effort put into game design and rules. So I'm willing to pay more if the quality is this good. Also, like yourself didn't realize this was part of a Siege series by MMP - so might look into the other games as well. Cheers.
It should be noted too, that those spent units only take 2 hits to be eliminated where fresh units can take 3 hits. (Assuming there is a valid retreat path)
