As some of already said, I think this is actually the complete opposite of "FNAF isn't getting added to anything". This is basically Scott just kind of laying out the ground rules for any possible collabs in the future in being, "if FNAF gets added, you will treat it with respect". And, BHVR does indeed treat *all* the licenses in their game with great respect. Yes, they do need to be tweaked ever so slightly to work within "the rules and gameplay loop" but, both the core of the character and aesthetic is kept very much alive.
Don’t forget DBD wanted the classic like Freddy Krueger but I don’t know if this is a good example or a perfect example is silent hill they did justice to that dlc
Finally! Someone who gets it! I don't play DBD tbh. However, and please do not cringe at my cringe worthy interests, I do play fortnite. And people keep droning "fortnite will never get a collab with fnaf!" pointing to this. But Scott never even mentions either DBD or Fortnite, only Dawko does. He specifically avoids talking about individual games, presumably to keep the announcement's content secret.
@@TheDogeOfSarcasmalso I will say, Fortnite ALWAYS keeps the charm of collab characters. Apart from the first 2 Marvel skins, every collab they have had look like they were ripped straight from the game, or movie, or tv show. For instance those new Deadpool and Wolverine comic book skins. So while fnaf may be slightly out of place, I know Fortnite would honor Scott, and show fnaf care and respect
@@mkbeastrifter And even when they do take creative liberties, they do it in an interesting way like showing how characters adapt to the Zero Point island, or by having the characters be interesting multiverse versions like a version of Venom where the symbiote bonds with Jonesy instead of Eddie.
I think that Behavior has always been keen and focused on keeping the IP and integrity of lore. We saw this with the Ringu chapter where Behavior worked with the creators of the original and even expanded on the original lore just to keep it to the creators' liking. I think it's possible.
If I'm being honest, it seems far more likely to me that this just means a huge no for Fortnite. It doesn't have the same vibe as FNAF, and I can't imagine Scott being able to imagine Springtrap, or any of the animatronics for that matter, with an shotgun. I feel like his answer makes it FAR more likely that FNAF comes to DbD than it does Fortnite, and if is DOES come to Fortnite, with how different the vibe would be, then I can't see him NOT being down to collaborate with DbD too, where they CAN hit the tones he's talking about.
Yeah exactly! The next best example (In my opinion) would be the DnD chapter, where you clearly see how much care they put into visual and functional lore!
@@JRook-00 I don't think so, sure fortnite is a very different vibe from FNaF, but the SB characters at least feel like they could work, it would be weird to se FNaF1 Freddy in the game but that isn't what I expect from a potential fortnite collab anyway
Fr like they could add a mechanic that when the killers Freddy or whatever that each gen represents a night and the more gems u do the more aggressive and fast Freddy gets
I feel like this kinda helps the case for FNAF in DBD because Fortnite 100% in more unlike FNAF then DBD. If Scott isn’t ok with Springtrap killing Nick Cage, then he sure as hell won’t be ok with Freddy shooting Peter Griffin and Ariana Grande. 😂
@@TheJasonwa its a collab "announcement" tho they are not gonna add it right away on august 5 so they can just announce like hey this is a thing we will do this and do it later on.
@@TheJasonwa This has nothing to do with what they said. Obv they wouldn't be able now. They have a road map prepared for this year. But that's not the issue, Scott was asked now and he answered that he would want something that would share the fnaf legacy. You said a random fact that has nothing to do with the question in hand.
I feel like Springtrap would fit right in, even lore-wise. For example, remember FNAF: Pizzeria Simulator ending? Imagine, as Springtrap is burning down with the pizzeria, suddenly the Entity rescues him and gives him an opportunity to kill as much as he pleases.
@@BirdsDoExist12700 The way that this person was saying it, it seemed like they were talking about fitting it in with the lore and I’ve seen a lot especially on Reddit about people wanting it to fit it in with the lore, I wasn’t just talking out of my ass
Precisely my thought. Schmuckles seems to think that the statements were about DBD when clearly Fortnite was mentioned and the statements seem to apply a LOT more to Fortnite when you consider they use guns and dance.
I mean he also couldn't announce it ahead of time likely (when he was a solo dev he could say whatever whenever) so the mismatch could have more been Fortnite and the overall sentiment is true just wasn't talking about DBD
look at what dbd did with pinhead, how they got his OG voice actor to play him and with Alien? the map was so cool there was even a face hugger who held nothing more then a jumpscare and they got the queen and even a blight Xenomorph
I think the opposite I do think it actually helps fnaf to join in the Future because he wants to make sure that fnaf stays fnaf, and springtrap Being a killer who chases you down would fit dbd very good and Behavior always tries to make sure that the licenses are similar to the origin, like with chucky and the ring joining the game, I don't think it's happening any time soon but I do think it will happen in the future if it's right, Springtrap is the only one who would fit that environment none of the other characters so we probably won't get any legendary skins (my opinion)
Yeah, this is basically what I was thinking. With his thoughts and feelings on the matter, I honestly can't see him collaborating with Fortnite at all, meanwhile Dead by Daylight, which can match the tone and themes in a lot of ways, is ENTIRELY still on the table. Looks like Robot's back on the Menu, boys.
I saw a reddit comment about the idea of funtime freddy and bon bon being a legendary skin for the twins, thought it was interesting, don't think it'll ever happen but would be pretty cool in my opinion.
@@lmads8023 I love when people who know nothing about a series pretend to be knowledgeable about it and make generalised statements that make no sense please do research before talking out of your ass
@@kr3016 ringu and resident evil where anounced the same way and we know by now if you see the cosmetics already by the x then its a cosmetic pac if not then its a chapter
@@Deleted404.That doesn't change the fact it started off as a really bad knock off (it still is) and the fact that would be the biggest bag fumble in history if FNAF doesn't come to dbd or fortnite (I don't even like fortnite I think that shit is gay) or some other big game and instead stumble guys genuinely fuck Scott Cawthon
i can see how it would be difficult for DBD to match FNAF's game loop through a potential killer, but aesthetically i think it fits all of the check boxes. the demographic could be another problem, but lots of gorey FNAF games exist and its most of its fans are now or already have been adults.
So Scott would collab with people who'd show respect to his creation??? My guy, if the people of the Fandom can respect your series with their fangames, a company like Behavior is gonna blow it out of the water
You know what could be the best move to add fnaf in the lore of dbd ? Exactly, you what i mean: when Afton is near of his final death, instead to go in hell, the Entity take him and the others in its realm. He can kill, but he cant leave the realm to take his revenge.
Here's Something cool to think about when Willy comes in As Scraptrap Burns in hell, The entity Rescues him and Makes a deal with him. And Replaces him with a clone that's not him.
If they ever did add Springtrap to DBD I've always had this odd thought of his power being sort of a cross between Freddy Krueger and Doctor (and maybe a little of The Pig) where he could potentially set up these illusion traps via the disks from the games that would cause survivors to scream and start hallucinating things in the map and they have to go to arcade machines scattered around the map and succeed skill checks to get rid of it
I like that scott isn't out here just doing shameless cross overs trying to get tons of money and shit. I like that he genuinely cares about the image of his franchise
Scott being wary about collating with other games and their dev teams is understandable completely, FMAF is a franchise he built from scratch, with deep and Rich lore and story, that he doesn’t want to be ruined in any way. But if there’s one team I’d be fine working with if I was Scott, would be BHVR because they take great care of the licensing they have, and they honour the source material and keep it mainly unchanged, aside from small changes so a killer/survivor/ map would make sense in the DBD universe.
Potential FNAF survivors:Vanessa(Movie or video game),Mike(Movie) Killers:Springtrap/William Afton(Game or Movie, suit and no suit skins),All the other usual animatronics
Great! This definitely makes the collab a lot more likely to happen. Based on what he’s saying here though, I do think Scott would want to implement a jumpscare/ camera system of some sort, or both. If Springtrap would be like that amazing fanmade teaser trailer, he’d feel more like a slasher, giving the wrong impression of the series for people that have their first interaction with Fnaf through dbd. DBD generally handles IP’s really well, so I’m confident they can work on a version that Scott will be happy with
I've never played the games, but I just saw the live action movie and I'm all in on the Springtrap train. We'll have to get the Pizzeria itself as a map and that alone would be sick.
I give him props for wanting to protect his brand. Brand integrity is one of the biggest things you want to keep cause the moment it changes the moment you either lose the style and the people or lose the brand entirely. Look at Disney. Disneys biggest thing is brand integrity & they have lasted because of it. Gotta give Scott props for looking at it more in a future perspective then just the right now.
I think DbD could definitely keep FNaF true to its lore and feeling. My favorite example of them doing this right is the Silent Hill chapter. The Silent Hill chapter got me obsessed with Silent Hill, and I know I'm not the only one. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to do the same with FNaF.
i think if ever, it'll be 2025/2026. high possibility FNAF 2 will dig into the Afton lore, and i highly believe if we ever get FNAF it will be the movie, the game just has too many holes for dbd to consider. dbd would be fools to not have the chapter be Afton based as the Aftons are a key symbol for FNAF, even people outside of the fandom know the Aftons. also makes more sense for a chapter to drop that promotes something, like the next upcoming movie. i dont think before is completely ruled out as they most likely have actors casted for the next movie already, if the next movie is Afton based.
@@Nachosthepug correction: the FNAF 2 poster looks like the toys, so they may be dedicating two movies to FNAF 1/FNAF 2 and Michael Schmidt? im not sure, unless their going to confirm the age old theory of Michael Schmidt and Michael Afton being the same person? its very unlikely but in atleast the FNAF 2 or FNAF 3 movie the other Afton's should show up.
The only thing i can think of why Scott wouldn't want Springtrap inside of DBD is because the lore for DBD has all the characters being brought from different worlds to be placed in these trials by a eldritch god and Scott might not want the FNAF fandom to interpret as anything canon to the lore or he's just worried it'd mess with things somehow
Hearing Scott mention that the collab has to make sense and fit the characters and world of FNAF makes me think we're never getting that Fortnite collab. DBD is very possible, though. Afton is a killer, after all.
Ikr!!!! Yet people defend them, and probably will in this comment chain too. They got used spit on then alot of the community said "thank u for everything" smh so irritating
Don’t blame him, man is a perfectionist who wants what’s best for his work and to be fair BHVR are not well known for being the most respectful company
if it's fortnite and not dbd, i'll be EXTREMELY disapointed. scott said he wouldn't collab if he doesn't think fnaf would match to be in that game. Fortnite does NOT suit fnaf. Dead by daylight 100% suits fnaf.
If Scott was wanting to collaborate, DBD would be the best place to start, we often like to take jabbs at BHVR when its appropriate but one of the things that they should have praise for is healthy compromise in their collaborations.
Yeah I’m not gonna hold you, I think when he said mismatched he was speaking about Fortnite. Because Fortnite does not respect collabs, and the Fortnite lore does not correlate alongside certain universes and games nor with certain things such as a story line. Nor do they match fnafs lore. I think it would be 10 times more likely for them to be included in dbd. Since fnafs graphic horror concept. After all. It is a horror game. Not a pvp first person shooter. ❤️🕷️UPDATE I WAS FUCKING RIGHT ITS DBD🕷️❤️
If we get FNAF in dbd, bhvr could do something like the onryo, where after 5 hours of playtime(midnight to 5am) after buying the dlc, you get a unskippable video where it shows the key lore parts of fnaf, and maybe even a minigame of the first game where it ends with a Freddy jumscare
if Springtrap have the ability to jump scare survivors and slowing them and giving them blindness effects, scratch mirror Myers is going to go dead (maybe)
Springtrap has a chance to bring back horror elements into dead by daylight, if they make his model more detailed and bloody that would be awesome but if his power made him able to jumpscare the survivors like in fnaf 3 it would be sick
