Anthony Cicione is the perfect example of a *portfolio* executive. Scott D'Amore was a RESPONSIBLE executive, one whose investment in that company was investment in nurturing talent arising from passion, not IN SPITE of it. Cicione's what we here in St. Louis like to call a "Ladue-sier" (hoosier from Ladue, a very wealthy section of the city): Again, chiefly a portfolio executive with little interest in growing a team that doesn't drop to its knees every time he walks into a room, two sportscars NOBODY needs, trophy wife, every high credit limit card you can find, and no hesitation waving perfectly industrious human beings out the door with one finger.

I think it's the opposite, Scott wants to grow TNA and get off AXS TV and that opens up another media company having a say over their property. TNA is Anthem's biggest IPO in America and they bought a TV station for them. I think Scott's vision for TNA was too big for Anthem's liking. They're fine with being what they are as long as they can promote themselves and make a profit.

Ive had a theory for a while that the TNA/WWE partnership is a repetition of history, in this case its repeating what WEE was doing for ECW in the final year or two before WCW was bought by WWE (aka WWE was funding ECW in the final year or so to attack WCW's viewership from another front). I feel that since the first signs of the WWE/Impact partnership (when Mickie James entered the rumble last year), there has been a deal worked out under the table Scott D'Amore being fired, without the reason being revealed, leads towards a potential sale of TNA in the future and that only makesy theory more likely

It's sad. from what it seemed he was well liked and respected for the empoyees and scott helped pull tna out of the stink dixie carter and billy corgain gave the company. He did a good job with what he was given imo. Like the tv deal they have isn't as ideal compared to being on the cw network and again many had doubts over tna because of thier history. That even with positive word of mouth you still have to get people to give it a chance when there's so much great wrestling content to watch weekly that it's hard for folk to give something a try. What's sad is the fact the wording was terminated. They fired him without giving good reasons as to why making me think they wanted more control over the wrestling part so they removed the old guard and put in the corporate people in charge. I think it's dumb especially not having him staying for a tarnsitional period at least and to me it makes it more likely those loyal like jordyne grace and jack something may be out if the new management sucks

If Anthem weren't staying radio silent, and gave good reason for firing Scott, I don't think reactions would have been quite so negative. You would think, given the hot water that AEW and WWE have been in for ignoring scandal, and not properly acknowledging it, that TNA would know better than to make the same mistake as well. The faith we have in any of these wrestling promotions is entirely misplaced. It is definitely something to remember the next time any Brand vs. Brand tribalism ever crops up as well.

I'm speculating that asking Anthem for more money every financial year and booking his partner to win a number one contender's match in a relatively stodgy period for pro-wrestling's inclusivity MIGHT have been sticking points for them, but I'm still finding it an inherently poor business decision on Anthem's part to fire the guy who has been there and held down the fort THROUGHOUT the different Jeff & Jerry eras, the Russo era, the Bischoff/Jason Hervey period, the Carter family's ownership and now the Anthem era. I believe one of the Styles re-signings happen because Scott pleaded with AJ that the company would implode without it's most recognizable face.

Its possible Scott wanted a pay raise. If you notice on Anthem Sports website Scott is still listed as Impact President. Now Ed Nordholm is also Impact President. You cannot have 2 presidents. I am sure since the TNA rebrand Scott wanted a serious raise or to be officially claimed as TNA President, but Anthem needed to do cost cutting and could not afford Scott asking for pay raise. Now I am sure Scott stepped down first and Anthem issued a statement. I don't know why they decided to label it a Firing. It must be because of the demand for higher pay raise. All TNA wrestlers eventually have to leave because every year they should have pay raises at the height of their TNA career. There is only so much money to keep everyone active. Now they should keep Scott on as a consultant and a training facility. Anthem has no facility to train and grow future stars like Scott did through BCW training rings. Many wrestlers might leave soon because Scott was their leader! TNA is FAMILY! Always was a Family effort. Now its becoming corporate. The only thing to save TNA now is a bigger TV deal and a direct sponsor funded to help TNA like WWE or TKO. Just follow the money and it shows you Scott most likely had to leave. Its possible Scott tried to become TNA president like how Billy Corgan tried to take over Impact as President. Its possible Anthem didn't want Scott to be paid in a high ranking job. In all honesty Scott is the BEST, but maybe his time was up because the company is only so big to afford him.

Why in the world would they fire Scott? He the reason why I started watching impact before TNA came back. I don't see what the problem is is? If the company doesn't want change? They needs to step down and let Scott and some really good people run TNA.

I am no big fan of TNA, but this is a questionable move by Anthem as they were getting momentum. Never underestimate TNA's ability to mess things up.

Maybe he over delivered and Anthem didn't like it? Or maybe Anthem was disappointed that he hasn't hired more wrestlers and gatekeeping talent that doesn't move the needle like Edwards, Myers etc.

TNA after Hogan came in sucked. Before that, it was easily the best promotion wrestling wise this century so far. Saying TNA "sucked" then just means you're clueless.
