Scott Foster "the Extender" has made a name for himself as an NBA referee for all the wrong reasons. Today we'll be exposing the dark truth of Scott Foster in a deep dive. business- sportsphere23@gmail.com
I genuinely think the only reason they keep him is to make sure he doesn’t go out and do what Tim donaghy did and blow the whistle on how some of the league is corrupt
@@mr.misterio1927big business (sometimes) requires BIG (powerful) unions and unfortunately even though the nba is ridiculously influential and powerful, they still have to obey the law and contracts they agreed to. I think Scott is as rotten as they come but he is well-connected so it’s hard for anyone to bring him down.
I refuse to listen to your communist propaganda @@josephmother2659 At the end of the day , unions always fail and tend to achieve the exact opposite of its founding intentions
f you are in the NBPA, don't go crying about bad calls. If you are the president for 8 years, just stfu. The refs work for the league and the league doesn't like malcontents who take their money and then complain about it. Any good player you see on the NBPA is either a stupid young guy who took bad advice (Jaylen Brown), or an older player who is washed up (CP3); they don't get calls...their teams won't win anything, get it?
I know, but Paul won't be around much longer anyway and he won't be a coach or anything for the league because of his proud participation in the NBPA. So, don't worry, you won't see him in organized basketball again unless he coaches his own high school or plays in the new And-1! league. Cheers!
As a longtime NBA fan, I truly feel the late commissioner Stern created this unhealthy culture, and that big-time company’s man in Foster is the byproduct of it.

As a suns fan Scott foster and Tim Donahue make my blood boil. The face that Scott Foster’s nickname is the equalizer/extender in the playoffs is a BIG ISSUE. Scott foster needs to be actually investigated.
Thank god the Denver Nuggets beat the Lakers and Scott Foster in the 2023 WCF Game 3 at LAL cuz if they dont win that game Denver would properly be in deep trouble trying to win GM 4
@@frankmfeb13I feel like its less rigged than a lot of people think, the fun of sports is uncertainty, the story writes itself so why rig it. 1 bad finals match up does very little in terms of the money the league receives. The games themself aren't even what generates money, and the big teams that generate money will always be good on their own
An independent oversight committee should be formed to evaluate gambling as it relates to pointspreads parlays triple doubles in basketball and unusual, betting action in any gaming. The fact that so many numbers can be manipulated by quick whistles and throwing contestants out of games, makes it necessary to have oversight to prevent corrupt refereeing.
The netlfix untold doc on this is great. Idk how related this is, but the end 4th quarter in most nba games are unwatchable with the constant fouling/fts. It supposed to be the most contentious time, but the final score often does not reflect where it mightve been heading the first half of the 4th
I realized a long time ago that the NBA is just entertainment just like the WWE. It's not about the sport. I just follow the stories through Reddit and RU-vid now. I watch games only during the playoffs. It's unbearable to watch a game laden with fouls and flopping now. I remember coming back to basketball after many years, this was when the Raptors were on the rise, first playoff game in a while. I remember setting up our big TV in the kitchen, only for a foul to be called with the first few seconds... come on.
Yea the competition part is gone. The NBA itself is clearly rigging these games. Last season was so egregious with the Lakers free throw differential. The NBA was doing everything they could to get the Lakers into the finals. It was really bad in the Lakers/Warriors series. Lakers shot twice as many free throws as the Warriors and idiot fans were saying things like "The Lakers are a team that plays in the paint" but in 3 of the 6 games the Warriors had the same amount of points in the paint that the Lakers had. And if ya actually watched the games you saw how a ton of fouls were being called on the perimeter against the Warriors. Refs tried to do the same thing when the Lakers played the Nuggets. There were so many awful calls but Denver kept hitting shots and overcame it. Last season the Lakers shot 500+ more free throws than their opponents. And this year they're in the top 5 again in free throw differential while being the team with the least amount of fouls called on them.
Starting to see this more in the NFL too, making QB’s “celebrities” with the Netflix documentary and creating false storylines that aren’t even seen on the field
Jesus christ, come to think of it. If detroit continue to losing streak and face the GSW on january, the betting odds will be increase ten fold . People will bet on DET . Scott foster will defenitely the referee

The fact Scott Foster is still refereeing in the league despite the hundreds of phone calls he had with Tim Donaghy during the period of time in which he was fixing games is absolutely insane. Makes you wonder whether he has some dirt on the league.
Had a hell of a time locating this video!! Allow me to just say that not only do players hate this menace, but fans despise him as well. In fact, I will even go as far as to say that the league either uses Foster as a tool for artificially creating league-wide parity, and/or suppressing key players and teams. As a Warriors fan from way back the 60s, I recall in the 90s first seeing him and thinking "WTF!" Why does this ref hate my team?! And now today, having Chris Paul on our team makes us even more of a playoff target!! Anyway, screw this dude. The Dubs will find a way to win despite the league doing nothing about this obvious menace. Or maybe he'll finally get caught in a betting scam like his other partner(s) in crime.
How the hell you make 134 phone calls with just 1 of your coworkers and he's not in on w/e is going on?They think we were born yesterday or something😭 I'm white but even I know you gotta get a burner man😭
That’s why the NBA viewership has been in decline for years, the game has been suppressed of player emotions, yet the game is officiated with emotions. Even if it just favouritism and not completely rigged, most people notice that the league has less character then ever, just feels so artificial.
@@baconeggcheesepodcast9390 last I heard they have a union. Atleast in most I have experience with if they are vested and literally aren't proven guilty of a crime or don't disappear you can't get fired or it's a huge deal. Sounds like something the NBA would skirt around. I bet if he was found guilty 100% and had legal consequences they could have cut ties with him back then
Idk why everyone tries to say most sports arent rigged if we have to make videos calling out the entire league and refs in the league that league is rigged 😂 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
@@baconeggcheesepodcast9390 If people think that everything is fake and rigged then the credibility of the league goes down and no one would watch it. People want to watch the sport of Basketball not Sports Entertainment... Look at what happened to Baseball after the 1918 Black Sox Scandal. Baseball was only saved because of Kanshaw Mountain Landis and his reputation for integrity!
@@baconeggcheesepodcast9390 When people see that the NBA is going to turn into the WWE people will get turned off by it. The MLB nearly got killed by the Black Sox scandal, if it was not for the fact that Kenishaw Mountain Landis then became the Commissioner and cleaned up the game the MLB could have gone under with fans getting pissed by the fixing and other crooked behavior by the owners, players and refs.
The MLB has Aaron Hernandez, the NBA has Scott Foster, and the NFL has Jerome Boger. Every sport has one of these big ego refs that never get punished.
You can show this to a die hard NBA fan and they will still think it’s all just a coincidence or that the nba isn’t rigged and it’s all legit it’s sad the Denial of the masses
Know what's odd? When your team at home has 5 tic tac fouls called against you while your opponents have 0 called all within the first 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter (your teams best quarter) and they wait until 3 minutes left to suddenly call 5 on your opponent. Ever since we played the Lakers I've been tracking fouls and yeah it's a crap. League needs help.
Scott foster single handedly killed a huge parlay i had when he ejected CP3 this season. I only had like 20 bucks on it but the payout was really nice, and the CP3 leg was the only one that didnt hit
LOL the clips you showed in game 6 2016, most of the fouls where not even called by Scott Forster also I do really think that these were fouls. Every foul call you can make the argument for a foul so I don’t get the point of this sequence
Tim Donnelly has something to say about the Title of your Video...being a Bad Ref is nothing compared to being a Ref caught betting on games and admitting to rigging them.
I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American and male. I have a story about Scott Foster, from 1995-96. It came I think three DAYS after the Magic Johnson incident. I was at a Portland at Seattle game. Detlef Schrempf wasn't getting calls on offense, and he was complaining at Scott Foster a lot. He upfaked Clifford Robinson, and drew contact, and finally got to the free-throw line. Scott Foster said to Detlef, "The reason why I didn't give you any calls earlier, is because I didn't feel like it. And, I'm not gonna give you any more calls tonight." Before shooting his free-throw, Detlef mumbled, "F--ked Magic over." Scott Foster blew his whistle, "That's it! Technical foul on Number 11!" The Key Arena went crazy. Detlef was saying, "You thought that I was talking about YOU?" Detlef complained to respected veteran referee Hugh Evans, and Hugh was trying to calm Detlef down. Schrempf kept complaining at Scott Foster. To end the 3rd quarter, Detlef shot a 3-pointer, and Dontonio Wingfield of the Blazers knocked him down at the buzzer. No foul. Detlef got so mad, he slapped the floor. He then stook up, and glared at Scott Foster for a couple of minutes!
10 year rule fixes this problem. After 10 years of service, the door is over there thank you. This would work in politics to. After 10 you just start getting corrupted and bias. Think fans will ever stand up and say no more?
Polt twist: The NBA specifically ask for Scott to officiate CP3's games because they're still trying to punish him for wanting to play with Kobe in LA.
Haven't watched the video yet but I think I know why they keep Foster around. They make him officiate important games because he is able to extremely easily sway the course of entire series', allowing the NBA to predetermine which teams make it to the finals for maximum revenue. I'm not saying the NBA is scripted, but they always want matchups that will make them money, which is why you will never see something like a Cavs Nuggets finals. You can even see this in the in season tournament, the Pacers advanced, so they had to put them against the most popular team in the league so that people would watch. They wanted the Lakers to win from the start so that Lebron can win the first ever IST and when he retires they can name the trophy after him. The NBA likes using Foster because he already has a reputation and is able to get away with things without making the NBA look bad by having every ref be biased. Retired players and refs have even come out and talked about it before, the most famous instance being Evan Turner and Andre Iguodala (obviously active players are not legally allowed to talk about it). If you're the Raptors or one of the less popular teams in the league and you make it to the semis against the Lakers, Warriors, Bucks, Suns, or any team that will make the NBA lots of money, "you need to win by 15 just to win by 1". They call it "fixing" games and it has been a thing for a long time, Foster just so happens to be the most convenient "fixer". They also do the same thing when trying to push series' to game 7 as much as possible. More games = more tickets = more money. Popular teams = more fans = more people tuned in = more money. It is a business at the end of the day and Scott Foster is extremely good for their business. edit: shouldve watched the vid first lmao
I genuinely stopped caring about the NBA after watching the 2016 warriors finals. If the NBA will blatantly shaft a team out of a historic season for cash, the season is by in large just a show.
I'm glad someone else said this! That 3-1 "comeback" by the Cavs was the most Hollywood script ever. Adam Silver just wanted his poster boy Le3-6 to beat that Warriors team. It was infuriating. I used to watch sports a lot but after finding out how rigged they are i lost my passion and love for these games and stopped caring about rooting for a team
The only logical reason the NBA wouldn’t care about a ref having clear biases against certain players is if that ref is fixing games for them that would get the league more tv ratings/money
One day I want to see a team that's getting screwed over by the refs in a big series have the balls to unanimously stop playing in protest. NBA executives would be shaking
Teams should granted a referee pick and ban every game theyre playing, just like in some esports. 1 ban ref from each team and 1 pick for each team, then the 3rd referee will be picked by the NBA, excluding the referees each team bans. If this happen, no more games will ever be officiated by Scott Foster.
That’s a good idea. But how will it work if there are multiple games going on and refs can’t just fly to different states right away to officiate if they are picked for them. But overall, this sounds like a step in a good direction ngl
Scott and Tim were friends from way back in the days. Tim even mentioned Scott as one of the main official who were on it. Needless to say, Scott "works" for the NBA & Vegas.
this is the land of opportunity. the league needs a new scott foster. maybe one of you guys can step up and play the bad guy for this sport entertainment league.
For that Houston team though, they lived on the whistle one of the top FTA/game teams that season and in ways that were just frustrating for most NBA fans to watch. It felt nice to see them die by the whistle that year in the playoffs as a non-Rocket fan.
Only SA is eligible to win a chip in that region. Dallas and Houston are garnishes, just like Utah, Denver covers that. Also, never Portland, Sacramento, Clippers. Only Lakers, Dubs(at least when they don't have an NBPA former president on the team, so not this season unless CP3 gets traded) are eligible in that region. So don't worry about a ring, it will never happen. In Boston we are eligible, but we have a VP of the NBPA as one of our main players, so no rings until he is gone. Never NYK, Wizzards, Hawks, Memphis. Only Bucks(cover Bulls), Heat(cover Orlando), Boston (cover NYK, Nets, when they are without Brown). The refs know the regional favorites and they work for the league.
Yea Harden clearly manipulated the rules to get to the free throw line a ridiculous amount of times. He'd drive, hook his defender's arm, then swing that arm up to shoot and a foul would be called. He did this countless times over. And saying only the Spurs can win a chip in that region is ridiculous. Dallas has won a chip and Houston has won 2. Besides the Lakers and Celtics with their 17 chips each the next highest are the Bulls and Warriors with 6 and 7. And those were dynasties. People act like every team should have 5+ chips.
Clean the league's refs out and replace them with player voted retired players. Have them justify their calls in post game pressers. Put a ref under each goal. Did I miss anything?
The most infamous just because the true champions officiated in the pre social era... Should be funny to compare him to Dick Bavetta or Joey Crawford, shall we?
Scott Foster is a disgrace - I wonder if the fans are gonna start booing him and his shady behavior. he's not terrible at his job... he just has money on the game ALLEGEDLY
How no one especially CP3 hasn’t just said fuck it and started swinging on foster is beyond me. At this point in both the nba and nfl refs have gotten incredibly bad and questionable and to be completely honest I’m all for some player on ref violence if the fucking leagues won’t do nothing then it’s time the players do something
Its funny because, like many actually important matters that effect the liveleyhood of everyone of us.. the truth is literally starring us straight in the face, and laughing.. yet does anybody actually want to band together and attempt to put a stop to it.. psshnaaaaahh😂😂😂
Foster just had another blatantly rigged game tonight... Get rid of this POS already. NBA fans want to see fair competition where the better team wins and the best players get to shine, not the ones that get the most free throws!
