Didnt surprise me with all the things I've heard of how he ran the program and how he was. I worked at a golf course for a fundraiser and he supposed to speak at like 6. He and Davidson went back out for another 18 at about 445 and made everyone wait for them. The summer after he was hired

Ugh. I love this program so much. It’s way more than football. It’s the connection I had with my grandmother and her love for the program. I love it in a DIFFERENT way. Scott Frost is a NEBRASKA guy. And THAT is why I want him to succeed. THAT is why I want him as OUR guy. I hope he does it this year. Makes that move and wins the rest of them or takes us to the big 10 title game and we keep him. I want him to build that identity that they are lacking. I’ll never lose this love for the program.

I wouldn't give up on Frost yet. It takes time to build a program. Nebraska had fallen pretty far from the juggernaut of yesterday. Not since Suh almost single handedly pulled the Huskers within sniffing distance of a conference title has Nebraska even been mentioned in the discussion. He's in a tough conference and he's in Lincoln. He'll get there, but it won't be overnight.

When they first joined the B1G with their big 12 recruited players, they did pretty good. Over time, those players graduated and those big 12 pipelines broke down because kids in california, texas where Nebraska had recruiting pipelines didn't want to play in the B1G. I don't blame them because before we joined the B1G I never watched any B1G games as they were typically slow and low scoring. All of a sudden they had to start building new pipelines in places like Georgia, Florida and other more eastern states and then over the last season it seems like they're finally adjusting to the B1G and building a team style that is compatible with the league they're in. They're bigger and nastier than they've been in decades. They're literally 2 plays away from being 5-1, maybe even 6-0. If you told me Frost was on the hot seat a month ago, I would have definitely agreed. But after seeing this massive improvement, there's no way they fire him.

Some people really tried to say he was a better hire than Jimbo Fisher at the time. Fisher is 109-33 overall, 24-10 at A&M with 7 of those A&M losses being to #1 or #2 ranked teams (Clemson 2x, Georgia, Lsu, Bama 3x) when A&M was mostly 15th-ranked recruiting classes before Fisher arrived. He's taken their classes to Top 7 for 4th year in a row. And Fisher looks like he beats most anyone with less talent. We'll see if future QBs and depth is there to win it all. Certainly way ahead of Scott Frost's program.

People really don’t understand that Mike Reilly is a program killer. He set Nebraska football back a decade at least. Don’t believe me? Look at Oregon St. They looked really promising under Dennis Erickson. They beat ND in their bowl game, and finished around fifth that year. Erickson left, and OSU thought, “that was as best as we can do. Let’s bring back Mike Reilly”. And now that program is just starting to show signs of life. They sucked a** for about seven years, after Reilly left to go to Nebraska. I’m just a fan of the game. I follow most teams/programs. I really and truly miss the days when ESPN hired actual sports reporters. Finnebaum is complete biased garbage. Most ex-athletes were great to watch, but they are quite boring when they speak. Lincoln is one of the biggest college cities in the B1G and Omaha is 40 minutes away. Most other college towns in the B1G are smaller, colder, and even more boring. @LonghornsLegend
@LonghornsLegend 2 года назад
@@NoCopyrightMusicsss not sure why you randomly picked 3 schools that I didn't mention. Penn St is a bad example because they have a ton of advantages, Pennsylvania and Ohio are hot beds for football talent among other resources. As for Iowa and Wisconsin, they still offer resources Nebraska doesn't. It's not just about wins and losses, it's about how the job sets you up to win or fail. It isn't a guarantee, you used Texas as an example, just because they have resources doesn't mean you're guaranteed to win. But it means if you're the coach at Texas you get an open checkbook to sign assistant coaches and pay them the top salary at their position, you can get the best coordinator, etc. That makes your job as a coach easier. Is Nebraska willing to do that for every coach, no matter what? Iowa and Wisc pay over 1 million for their DC, that's a commitment to winning. Can a great coach win at Nebraska? Yes, because a good coach wins anywhere. But it isn't arguable that UCF was worlds easier. Elite speed and athletes at your door step, your players are better than most teams, and you've already built it up. And I guarantee you coaches learned from his mistake which is why you still see Fickell, Napier, and guys like that staying where they are vs taking a job you can't win at
