Here’s Frost issue Nebraska and UCF are two different recruiting foot prints. It’s why Iowa is a slow paced ground and pound team, KSU is similar except they are a pistol RPO ground and pound, etc. Frost tried to fit a square peg into a round hole. He tried to take a style that works with Florida athletes and use their speed in his spread offense. Nebraska doesn’t have access to enough talented speed. They have access to big mauler O lineman/D-line. Also no one wants to go to Lincoln over other options and so it’s hard to recruit the speed needed from other recruiting foot prints

But you also have to come to terms with nebraska over estimated by a hilariously level how good they thought they were and how good the b12 was when they left. I mean to everyone outside of nebraska it was very very obvious they were at best mediocre and have an occasional decent season if they were lucky in a far superior conference. Nebraska will not be much more then a 7 win 8 win at best team from here on. Take what ya can get at this point. Kids nowadays born after 2001 nebraska is completely irrelevant and has nothing what so ever to offer any one in terms of recruiting. The dumpster fire they have become is all they know and have seen from nebraska
@DwideShrude64
@DwideShrude64 Год назад
@@jbills7292 Pelini coached Nebraska to three 9 win seasons when they joined the Big 10 so Nebraska didn’t fall off a cliff as soon as they jumped conferences or something. You can claim that Nebraska has nothing to offer from a recruiting standpoint but somehow they’ve still had consistently top 25 recruiting classes and have been at or near the top of their division in recruiting rankings. It may not be realistic for them to compete for national championships year in and year out but I don’t think getting to the level of Iowa or Wisconsin and winning the west consistently and having 9+ win seasons is out of the question. It’s not like Iowa has access to a much better recruiting base yet they find ways to win. The problem at Nebraska isn’t talent, it’s bad coaching.

Scott Frost will never be hated by genuine fans of Nebraska Football. His time as a National Championship Quarterback alone, guarantees his status as a Nebraska legend. I was hoping to see him retained at least to the end of the season. He could still have salvaged something. Not so sure that'll happen with Mickey Joseph. Still, I hope he does real well. this is such a bitter and sad reality to accept as a fan of one of the most and perhaps THE most legendary football program in cfb history. im an LSU fan and i can relate to a big degree after that screw job we got handed because of the media and polls riding bama d1ck. we beat them in tuscaloosa. they didn't deserve to play us again. then the infinite frustration and sadness of losing to them 8 years in a row to our former coach whom lifted us to the peak of our programs history. 2019 was so fucking elating though and im satisified because we are in the same breath as 95 nebraska as perhaps the best team of all time im more than okay with that. thats something bama can never take from us and they will never come close because all evidence shows that program is in decline and saban is in decline in the twilight of his career. im also actually so happy to see that Georgia program on top of the NCAA because they always competed with us hard in our best seasons and just couldn't quite make that push to greatness. we look forward to an exciting, less toxic rivalry with a school i think all LSU fans respect. i want to see Nebraska return to prominence. all the best, big red.

Those players and assistant coaches should not be saying such bad things publicly. I saw what happened without Scott Frost. Nebraska got completely blown out by Oklahoma. Coaching isn't what most people think it is. Coaching is business management. This means hiring quality coaches who can recruit and who can make each component work. Take, for example that mess Frost called an offense, this year. Who was running that? IIt should be working, and it's not. Now, as an Ohio State fan, I was looking at a great head coach who was running up the record book on offense, and squeaking out wins, in spite of a horrible defense. So, what does he do? He changes all but one coach on the D side of the ball. In the meantime, he puts Hartline to work recruiting positions he doesn't even coach because Hartline is a fantastic recruiter. These kinds of head-coaching skills don't make headlines, but management is the name of the game, and it is only getting more difficult in the day and age of NIL. What does all that say about Frost? Well, he might be a great coach, but he's not a great manager.

This was a fairly quickly-made video considering the time. I applaud you. With that being said, I haven't been this pumped since Frost CAME to Nebraska. Five years down the road, I at least expected a bowl game from him, and it never happened. We could lose every game for the rest of the season, but firing Frost is the start of something better. Notice I didn't say "big"; just better than where we are now. Many players that played under Frost had their potential wasted by him, such as Adrian Martinez, who looks at home at Kansas State (also praying for the Mizzou Tigers to bounce back as they are historic rivals of Nebraska but now I'm okay with them). I consider the head coach to be the mind and soul of a football team, while the players are the body. Why this needs to be known is because the mind and soul is the source of connection to how the body reacts. Frost just looked so dead all at the end of last year and so far this year, and I believe that may have passed over to the players, and ultimately the fanbase. I will not miss Frost as head coach of Nebraska.

For NU to succeed, they might want to try instituting a culture similar to that of the service academies. Sell Lincoln as a place free of distractions; as a place that enables unyielding focus, and you might get a few studs buying in. Trouble is, that's always been the kind of "nice guy" 3-star recruits that they have always gotten. The flashy 4 and 5-star guys want a bigger stage than what NU can provide on its' own.

They claimed that he was fired because of his behavior towards players, fans, and the school but they also mentioned how he hadn't won a conference title so I'd say that was definitely a factor or they wouldn't have said it.

That is a problem but what bothered me about him was how he showed little class in the effort. He always reminded me of a spoiled little kid thinking his only responsibility was X's and O's. He was given way to much respect and his behavior was glossed over. I hope NU can find a class coach who can build a successful program. I am happy to see frost go, and of course he will go with his pockets bulging with Nebraska cash. I do not feel he should be loved, well of course if he gave the money back, I might reconsider. There is hope bc he is you f enough and can learn and grow maybe, but he will have to either become a coordinator or G5 coach again and have to start over a little. I have never seen a team lose so many close games, which is ironic bc he won almost all the close games at UCF. He just seemed in over his head. Frost Should have stayed at UCF and continue to build a dynasty there. Even years after he left, that UCF was still a very very good team. And he was in the perfect position where he could get guys from the state of Florida (which has an amazing pipeline for talent), who maybe weren’t getting the offer from UF, Miami, or FSU and wanted to play close to home in state. Too many instances where “small school” coaches have 1 or 2 years of really great success and go and take these “big school” coaching jobs. They don’t realize that typically those situations are when those programs are in really bad shape or in a pipeline where it’s hard to recruit great players. I believe Nebraska overestimated Frost ability to win at that higher conference level And his ability to get big time recruits to come to Nebraska. Scott Frost is a very good coach, but not a very great or elite one. Ever year Nebraska was right there in games and showing program improvement, but just couldn’t get over the hill. If he were a great coach he would have at least compiled one or two 7-8 win season(s) at least in his 3rd or 4 year. Scott Frost is a good coach, but in that situation he just couldn’t get it done.
