I wouldn't normally upload a full set like this, but I've made an exception here given the importance of the show (Mastersystem did a short band tour after, but this in-store appearance was possibly Scott's last solo gig.) I had the audio for all of it and video that I made for four of the songs, filofolia had the video for a couple more (thanks!), so I've synced it all together with a slideshow for the three tracks that would otherwise have been audio-only. RIP

It’s haunting the way he changed the lyrics at the end of Bird is Bored of Flying. The way he sings “I’ve seen all that I care to see, become what I don’t want to be.. Bird is bored, bird is bored.. I’m bored of flying.. He’s bored of flying.” This is the only recording that I’m aware of where he sings “I’m bored of flying”. I really wish we had footage of this performance. Thank you for uploading this!

I come back to this video periodically to listen to Bird Is Bored Of Flying. It hits me in such a specific way that I can't put my finger on and plays with my emotions in such a melancholic but weirdly warming way. Thank you for recording the full set.

I still can't watch any of these without bawling my eyes out. I love this Mastersystem record. I never had the chance to see him live and I never will.

I also never got to see him live. They were playing a show in Chicago in maybe February 2018. it’s a 3+ Hour Drive from where we live but my boyfriend at the time wouldn’t go because he was jealous that I had once upon a time gone to a Chicago concert with some old ex. So no Chicago in our future... ever. Hence no frightened rabbit. Three months later he was gone. Same a**hole ex didn’t want to tell me when he found out because it was Mother’s Day here, he told me the next day and we slowly fell apart from there after. Letting that immature 40yo man child cause me to miss the most important show of my life... Unforgivable. And so petty. So, so petty; it was the principal. But I can’t hear Scott without resenting the hell out of that man to this day. No man will ever control me to that degree again. Ever. Just one more thing to thank Mr. Hutchison for.

He died about a month after this gig I was living at the time a couple of meters from rough trade. Booked off the the day before an after this gig. Then took advantage of making time for my self the day before... got to drunk an felt too low an hung over to bother to walk down the road. I regret it. He’s falling to bits. Promoting a rock Mastersytem album... his album..... ON IS OWN 💔

I only heard about FR about a month ago, and just can't stop listening to them! I was studying down in Bristol at that time and would definitely have gone to see him. Life is strange. Hope you're feeling happier these days, Miles.

foofighterdaz I think I just figured it out more or less... Still in drop D, bar the E and A stings at the 5th fret for the root chord. Next is a C on the A string (3rd fret) and a G on the D string (5th fret) - from there it’s not too hard to piece together, the tuning makes it pretty forgiving

Aren’t we all? But yeah, I get chills. And tears. Lots of tears. It sucks when the musicians who give you hope show you that there really isn’t any and they didn’t find a way out either. Then where does the hope go/come from?

He was such a great musician with a good soul. I hope he knew how much he and his music was loved. I wish we could of helped him some how some way. Hope the rest of the guys are good. RIP Scott.
