Motorheads discography is one of the most overlooked in all of metal. Their entire discography is probably the most consistent of any bad in metal history. I was shocked when I listened to their late stage output and it was just insane
I love Scott Ian; he just seems like one of those really nice, genuine people who would totally geek out with you over the little things. I'd LOVE to meet him and compliment him on his guitar playing and songwriting chops. And have a Jack with him of course!
This era of Motorhead is criminally underrated and under-heard. I'm just glad he wasn't reviewing Ace of Spades and Overkill...as much as I love those albums, they've been discussed to death. Hearing someone discuss their '90s and '00s output is refreshing for a change.
Another day without him, another month with his memories... Another year without his stories and jokes. I miss Lemmy, he played Rock n' Roll but he was more than a singer, he was a teacher for all of us.
I just completed my Motorhead studio albums collection on CD's this year and I even got No Sleep At All and Clean Your Clock live albums on CD but the Clean Your Clock is the one I have with a Blu Ray that came with the CD. Well, I am totally gonna buy as much Motorhead CD's till I have to bring a whole crate of nothing but Motorhead CD's. I still need the live albums and greatest hits albums to get. Finally, R.I.P. Phil, Eddie, and finally but the most important is Lemmy.
Scott, what do you think about Another Perfect Day? It was panned when released back in 1983 but is finally getting the recognition it deserves. One of their best in my opinion.
@Eric D. Gotta agree, totally underrated 'Head, there. Even though Robbo was impossible to deal with in the end, the man could WAIL. The inner sleeve comic strip is funny as hell, too!
I love Scotts stories. Seems like a very cool guy. Orgasmatron is my #1 at the moment. Saw that tour ( Philthy and Wurzel). Got the Birthday Party playing in the car right now. LONG LIVE MOTORHEAD!
Lemmy the Last Real Rock Star R.I.P I'm glad to say I was lucky enough to meet Lemmy & philthy Phil properly & not at a gig it was at a Motorhead party in London about 1986.
I had the same experience in 1980 with the ace of spades album as a 14 year old..absolutely brilliant album...but although lemmy grew up in wales...lemmy is ENGLISH not welsh...phil campbell however is welsh
Have those vinyls. That's actually second time they are reissued. They were reissued few years ago. Snakebite Love sounded so much better than I remembered. All classics! See Me Burning... what a tune! I remember putting brand new cd on a player and fell on my ass when that album started. We Are Motorhead I mean. Everybody should get those!
BMG do some good reissues, they keep them as close as they can design wise to the original releases. They even put the vertigo swirl on the label of the Black Sabbath reissues, no other Sabbath reissues have that
Snake Bite Love is a great record !! I like it even better than « we are Motörhead » actually, it’s more catchy to me. I’ll be looking for « Bastards » on vinyl first, it is one their greatest and Burner might be the fastest song with double bass drums ;-)
.........Hello Scott , thanks man !!!The god is dead, long live Lemmy , foreverrrrrrrrr !My eyes are wet, sadness and joy melted....... Lem is always alive in fact , on the heart and on the veins !
Lemmy is always alive in your heart and mind by reliving his (or the lyricists) words. There are those scared of death and I used to be one but I'll breathe my final breath when my race is run, until that time however there is much to be said, as such could live forever and not be buried with the dead. I'm not a coffin dodger, clearly merely loving life. The thought of being an ole codger doesn't conjure any strife. That belongs to the young without much care or qualm. However whose hopes are hung on many a cherished charm................
No Remorse. \m/ Overkill, Stone Dead Forever, Dancing On Your Grave, Jailbait, Killed By Death, Metropolis, Iron Fist, Iron Horse, Snaggletooth, several other kickass songs, and yeah, Ace Of Spades is on there too.
APD has the best mix of instruments and is the best album sonicly they ever made. Brian Robertson was a beast with a guitar and I wish they could have made one more album with that lineup. I just wish that sound could have been combined with Motorhead, Overkill, Bomber and Iron Fist's songwriting. I wouldn't change Ace Of Spades though because it just sounds so damn gritty. I also wish that Motorhead had covered Silver Machine and it found its way to Under Cover, but we can't have everything we want.
I bought an anthrax CD box set long time ago the CD sleeves had floating skulls in fake blood, amazing box set cost me over £100 didn't have it for long my rotty chewed the he'll out of it...
Scott, you must be a guitar player the way you string me around. There's only 2 rhythem guitar heroes , you and Malcolm buddy. Your right hand has been such an insperation to me for 20 years of guitar playing now, not to mention i pack my guitar when i go to my uncles grave to play in the end for him. Youve pulled me through some rough shit and if theres way i could ship a guitar to you just for you to send it back with a video if you playing that song on it, id be eternally gratefull. Just dont change the strings.
I was watching a prison documentary on RU-vid recently and one of the officers looked like Scott Ian without the long goatee and my first reaction was “damm this guy is in everything “
Whilst the motorhead albums of the 70s were considered their classic era, I personally think they were at their peak in the 90s with albums like bastards and sacrifice.
When you get to be over 50, and the doctors start telling you to change certain aspects of your lifestyle, stop smoking, eat high fiber, etc. but you still jump into the pit at the opening note of Caught In A Mosh... \m/ I'll still be in the fuckin pit when I'm 70, if I live that long. \m/
Damned, he's all white, old and bourgeois now.... I remember listening to them in the early 90's. Not too bad for the time (even if the bestMetal/punk/hardcore/roc'n'roll bands are EUROPEAN and not american OBVIOUSLY).
Dude come on, I said "white" because he's very white looking("white" as i have grey hairs and i'm OLD) in this video that's all ! These scandals happening in the usa or some of the Anglo saxon world right now does not exist in my country. You're the one who seems a little obsessed by race and polarized tho, i'm not attacking you i'm sure i'd be influenced by this race obsession if i lived in the us...
