Now that was an amazing ending. It feels odd to have a full Scott Pilgrim show without Scott for 6/8 episodes, but once you get over the original hump of what we expected it to be, this is a fantastic story. And the animation was incredible!
It's what I always wanted to happen in the comics. It's such an obvious setup that he'd be the eighth evil ex... And there's almost always eight levels in old NES/SNES games.
Ramona in this show is closer to how she was in the comics. She was aloof but she still enjoyed being with Scott and being friends with Wallace, Kim, Stills, and the rest. I think the movie missed that part of her character, this show got that.
The author confirmed each iteration is it's own universe. And also from what we see this universe is not the same even before Scott disappeared as there were already differences. Seems like this version of Scott and Ramona didn't develop properly. They went through similar events but not quite. I big thing to notice is that in the memories this old Scott never fought NegaScott who was crucial to his development. Neil in the future goes by Old Young Neil when Scott in the comic and movie timeline promoted him to just Neil. And also explains why Gideon in this version appears to not have commited crimes that warrant multiple life sentences
I'd go even further and say hypothesize that this Scott would've made it through Gideon without needing a redo (who seems weaker, and slightly less evil). All he needed was the Power of Love, so he never unlocked the Power of Understanding.
I like it. Wasn't sure after the first episode, but I got more and more sucked in as it progressed. It has a lot of layers, but you don't feel overwhelmed. Had a great time with it.😊
The rockin' guitar song at the end is called "Scott Pilgrim" by Plumtree. BLOM named the character after the song. It was in the movie for about 3 seconds...so glad it was featured more in this. Scott wears a Plumtree shirt in the movie as well.
I just love this series so much ! It was a clever remake/reboot/sequel all-in-one, and a fantastic way for Bryan Lee O'Malley to re explore this story while keeping his rogue gallery of lovely jerks, like revisiting old friends of 20 years ago, but keeping things fresh ! He and the writer basically pulled a FF7 Remake in the Scott Pilgrim universe. That's the way remakes of old franchises should be made !
20:33 the animation Gideon is right. It was the movie Gideon who had the beef. With the new timeline being changed so did everyone’s story plot. Except older Scott who is technically movie Scott who had beef with everyone
The robot being important to the anime is interesting because they started developing the movie when only 2 of the 6 Scott Pilgrim books had been released. When it came out there were still only 4, so cool to think that Bryan Lee-O’Malley and Edgar Wright were trading ideas, the twins fight in the comics is the only Evil Ex fight that’s almost wildly different.
Omni media made the comparison that this show fits into the same genre as the Final Fantasy 7 Remake in that it's both a remake and a sequel simultaneously. I think this show really complements the other Scott Pilgrim stuff out there.
Thank you guys for the shout out, that is exactly what I have been up to! How did you know?? lol in all seriousness, during this time of year I wanted to say that I am very thankful for you guys and the content you give us. I hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving, much love!
You know, I wouldn't mind if Netflix made this into a serialized show that continued on, similar to how Rick and Morty started. I honestly thing they have a great foundation to build upon... and considering the creators of the comic, the OG cast, and OG production staff from the 2010 movie was onboard with this show, they can continue to expand upon the plot, even if it becomes an anime original series that goes beyond the source material. Netflix, at least with adaptations like Cyberpunk Edgerunners and Castlevania, seems to have a decent track record with building those franchises up.
OMG HI Greg and John I’m a huge fan by the way I haven’t seen Scott Pilgrim Episodes and the finale it seems new to me, but the ending it’s amazing 🤩 the voice actors did a fantastic job, plus the animations are incredible, I can’t not wait to see your videos soon.
❤️ this whole show was like a time capsule for me. Living in Toronto at the time this was set in and everything. Loved this show and the new spin they put on it.
7 and 8 and fantastic episodes this show was such a fun watch so many great moments if you guys want to watch another great show then definitely check out blue eye samurai
So with their fates being changed a lot happen 27:35 Roman became a stunt double 27:44 that place officially closes (Scott no longer owes debt) 28:03 Lucas became a barista with Scott’s sister admiring this. 28:39 Ramona and Scott are together and the road won’t be easy but they will face it together
I liked the ending but not as much as the first 6 episodes. I think Michael Cera should've voiced older Scott too, idk if Will Forte was the right choice for me
1. Great reaction to the show, guys. There DEFINITELY needs to be a second season of this, as it looks like we're just getting started. 2. *Skip to **0:44**, **15:10** & **30:59*
15:48 yeah he is in a not so good place. Yet obsessed over Wallace. 16:25 Matthew moved on 16:35 Gideon is with jewels while focused on Matthew 16:50 Lucas is moved on too and just himself 17:05 the girl ex reconciled with Ramona 17:11 yeah there future bros In a way this new timeline saved the exes from having to be evil
I just realized the orchestra at the beginning of ep. 8 sounds just like the PS3 start 😳 It might be a coincidence… but looking all the video games references maybe not.
I have not fully enjoyed a song so much in a long song, every single note 🔥 Can’t wait for the Avenged Sevenfold album reaction 🔥 I'll leave you with a request. You have to react to October Ends' new song, it's mind-blowing!
Hey guys! It's *day 4* of asking you to react to Indian movies. We need more than just RRR 😊 Suggestions: 3 Idiots, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (Roxy would be a good choice of reactor for this one), Kaithi, Thallumaala, Eega, Super Deluxe, Sardar Udham, OMG 2 (no need to have seen OMG 1 but it's a good one too), Maanaadu, Jailer, Darlings, Udta Punjab, Raazi, Kumbalangi Nights, Bajrangi Bhaijaan 😁
this series alone id say its a solid 7/10 but having seen the movie before it definitely put it up to an 8/10, alot more enjoyable seeing the movie first alot of the references and jokes i feel wouldnt hit as good as they do if you would go into it blind
I was loving this show up until the final 2 episodes. I know im not supposed to think about it too much but the time travel logic took me out of it. Ive always felt that if you are gonna use time travel as a plot device then at least try to make it make sense.
@@thehostofmmm yeah... hence why in the post I stated "i know I'm not supposed to think about it too much" if you are trying to imply I'm stupid or oblivious to the nature of the content then you'll have to try harder.
@@maskerriz2616 not at all. But it is kinda funny that out of all the ridiculous things that happened in this show, time travel was the one that crossed the line 😆
@@thehostofmmm it wasn't the literal use of time travel that got to me, it was the fact the writers were using closed loop logic and branching parallel timeline logic simultaneously, but the two are contradictory. The same event can't be a closed loop and a whole new timeline at the same time 🤷🏻♂️ yeah, I'm overthinking it but thank Marvel for that I guess 😂
the detective pikachu reference makes no sense. the show takes place before 2010, as said by bryan lee omalley. detective pikachu game first came out in mid 2011
