@Natural Born Hustler✓ He didnt do well one task - this should not take away his credibility. He walked away. He knew his worth. Most would not do this, in this day and age.
When you got up and left that boardroom you left on your own terms because you knew your worth! Watching that as a young lady, you were a real inspiration to me. Thank you So much!
@@amanplayz518 shhh little boy, go play your fifa. Maybe try and work on some self improvement instead of making a pathetic attempt at degrading others in order to make yourself feel superior. Your self consciousness shows right though the screen 😂
@Sana - learn English before another moronic comment! Integrity and respect ?? How long did it take him to come up with a BS title like that? Had to mention Sugar and his show to get people to recognise what this pathetic vid is about, because nobody cares or remembers who this is. Didn't he "walk from Lord Sugar" because he realised just how dumb he actually comes across while tanking the simplest of tasks like remembering rooms in a tiny studio?... Delusional character! Tell yourself all the stories you want though...
The Apprentice is still my favourite show, but I preferred it when they were competing for a job with Lord Sugar. I think they have gone a bit too far with how they treat the contestants, making them get up at 3 in the morning, and making them feel like failures just because their team made £20 less than the other team. It feels a bit exhausting to watch.
well done for having some self respect and pride, that moment when you walked out was so memorable even though it happened a while ago. good luck with the future
Mmmm lets see LEGEND:-, a very famous or notorious person. Someone standing by their morals or standards deserves great respect is an example of how people should be but a legend is a bit over the top
Im glad this popped up in my recommendations because I hadnt seen anything of you since that episode. I remember having a totally different opinion of you as a person. But now with this explanation I totally get where you were coming from. Ive also now seen that you're doing well so I wish you nothing but more blessings!
Scott - absolutely inspirational. You weren't a bad candidate at all. As a viewer, we sometimes forget the feelings of the candidates and how unfairly they are treated in the boardroom. I was sad to see the way you were spoken to, and so were many others, you were completely right to realise you aren't just a fish in Sugar's pond. You are your own person and you're no less than him, in fact there's nothing stopping you from going further. Thanks for the video and I wish you luck in your current ventures.
I can't say I've ever met him , but I like your Dad . Perhaps he was treated with a lack of respect sometime in the past and wishes he had done the same thing ? I know I have .
Mark Wears possibly. He really dislikes Alan Sugar. So when Scott did what he did he just stood up applauded and went on a rant about self respect. I felt like he wanted to drill that message home.
Wasn't expecting this 5 years on but fair play, total respect for you Scott. You knew what you had to do and you got out of there, hope the future is bright for you dude
When alan sugar said you’re lucky to be here that should be enough for anyone to quit. That itself makes you think why am I here then, maybe I should leave. Along the lines if he does win and they have to work together as business partners, their relationship towards each other wouldn’t be as great because in his mind Alan basically said you don’t deserve to be in this process. There was no point at all for him to stay
@rumba rumba I highly doubt that. I know many people who have a lot of self respect who would’ve done the same thing. I think the people who stay are good candidates but it takes a certain personality to know your own worth.
He looks younger and sounds like a different person here than from his last episode. I think leaving the process saved his mental health. Good on you Scott! 👏🏻
He actually wrote an explanation of his actions on a video of it that was uploaded much earlier than this. Oh, and he wrote a lengthy article in the Telegraph at the time explaining his decision in depth. Perhaps you're the one who needs to keep up.
I rewatched this season a week or so ago (for some reason it always stuck in my mind as a favourite). I have to say, Scott, you came across as the most genuine and likeable contestant from the start. I remember when the series first aired and I was sure you'd be the winner because you seemed like someone who Sugar would trust to handle the business your way without needing much input at all from him. It was a shock to see you leave but after hearing your explanation I have nothing but admiration. There have been so many suck-ups on that show that'll do anything to make Sugar happy, it's refreshing to see someone with the self-respect and confidence to walk away and continue their plans without his investment.
As someone who has experience in TV and a network in different production pipelines. You really played your hand perfectly at that moment. You came out more memorable and better than any other candidate. It was refreshing for someone with self-respect to stand up for himself, and also be able to tell those cut-throats that you don't need them and can do better. Your insight and the comments below seem like it must've been a terrible experience...and you came out on top. I don't often watch reality tv shows, and I stopped watching the apprentice nearly a decade ago when I noticed they tried to make some candidates look bad or force drama into it. If anyone watched the video clip. Anybody with editing experience (or people with a good ear) can notice that in 2:07 (RussellTCS clip) that the editor put a sound clip of Lord Sugar despite it not matching the previous tone and there is a noticeable cut in that sound. You look like someone that I wouldn't mind working with. Your attitude, approach, and pretty much everything has pretty much made you one of the most respectable people coming out from the show. You've got a ton of support and I hope your future idea and business (despite covid19 and other complications) have turned into something great for you.
Abu Ibu Prolly wants to meet him for the inspiration & motivation Not everyone wants to hook up! Some of us do also already have a True Love Soulmate of our own But we need help in life to meet someone that can inspire us n motivate us! I certainly do & I also wanna meet him real talk! Bless, G
Scott, you left with dignity and respect and even all these years later I've never forgotten that iconic television moment. It's only a shame that Sugar and Brady couldn't treat you with the same dignity and respect when you made that decision, choosing instead to make cheap and snide remarks about you as you walked out the door. It only goes to show no amount of money can buy you class.
Hey Scott - I have watched most of the Apprentice series' since it started. Other people have said and I agree that the candidates appear more genuine and serious in the earlier episodes. My impression is that you were a genuine candidate who wasn't interested in simply playing up to the camera. I have total respect with the decision you made in leaving the process when you did. To me, and others, it seems that most of the contestants on the programme in recent years have either over inflated egos or are pre-madonnas. I think one of my favourite apprentice candidates from series 3 or 4 was Paul Tulip. Okay, he was an average 25K salesman but he was one of the best performing candidates in Lord Sugar's tasks going across all the series'. He knew how to lead a team, communicate with them, was a very good organizer, got on well with people and got things done. What let him down were the interviews where I think he just became over-confident and appeared cocky to the likes of Claude and Gordon although I don't think he was to be fair. I feel that he should have got through to the final and taken on Ruth Badger. Michelle Dewberry, the eventual winner, parted ways with Viglen (one of Sugar's companies) after only a few months anyway. Although she performed reasonably well in some tasks she was not right for the job i.m.o. Well good luck in your future endevours - the Apprentice should have more candidates like yourself.
Shoutout to you man. I remember watching that Episode a few years ago and those people were so demeaning and disgusting in their behaviour towards you I honestly felt that it was straight up bullying. Genuinely I have the upmost respect for you in the way you handled exiting the boardroom and all the shit that was thrown at you, you gained a massive admirer (in me) that day and I’m so pleased to see that you’re flourishing in your career. Big up you to sir.
The whole process is viewed as lord sugar finding the perfect business partner but people forget it takes two people for an investment in someone and the candidate has to think lord sugar is suited for THEM TOO. This gave me a whole new perspective on the apprentice
I’d like to see Alan do the process. Doing ten berating and degrading tasks for what? £250,000 for a 50/50 partnership? What sort of deal is that? Self worth and integrity is more important
I love how he’s got a bottle of Prosecco in the background, probably for celebrating how far he’s come. Something I’ve always wondered though, can you tell us what Selina was like? If she was as bad as was rumoured?
@@flamranims which is an infinite amount more than you would've if they were still dead. Obviously I'm talking about parents giving their lives to save their child's, or wasting their lives trying to make their kids life better
I am so proud of this guy. I am so pleased that he has said lots of things I have been thinking for the past 14 years I have been watching the program. I used to enjoy watching the how the teams coped with the challenges but I became disturbed over the years as to unfairness, favouritism towards certain contestants. I look forward to your growing success Mr Saunders.
One of the guys said something like "The cars arrive in 20 minutes but that doesn't mean we leave in 20 minutes" so i figure they buy themselves time that way
"2020 is going to be my year" and then covid hit... and then Putin went full Tyrant mode... just goes to show that we dont tell the universe when to move for us. We just react to it when it does.
The energy this video has! Honestly inspirational to hear such a voice with so much integrity and positivity, your eyes just beam good vibes - I'm sure you're a pleasure to know in person!
Huge respect to you. It took a lot of bravery to walk away, but you left with your head held high and the support of everyone watching who has also been downtrodden by a bad boss. I have been in a similar work situation before and walking away was the best decision I ever made.
Scott, your exit was legendary! It gave me the chills! I would have done the same thing! ☝🏻 Once the statement “You are a very, very lucky man to still be here at the moment” was highlighted by Alan Sugar, THAT’S IT! 🏓 💯 #WordsOfWisdom #SelfWorth #BelieveInYourself
In other words Scott - You don't need a contrived television programme to achieve success. Good ideas and hard work will always prevail in the end. I salute you Sir!
I lost a BIT of respect for Lord sugar after he differentiated Ryan and Lottie from the rest after praising them for being highly educated. I suspect he was compelled to fire Ryan because if he hadn’t, then that would have confirmed most people’s suspicion of him finding both Ryan and Lottie appealing because they’re privileged. At the end of the day, it’s all showbiz.
what are you on about, it's more common to see him not like the highly educated ones because of his own working class background. and Lottie is only 19 she can't even be that highly educated yet
I literally do not understand why he keeps saying Lottie is great academically when she’s literally a librarian.... like okay but that’s what my friend did part time when she was in sixth form, easier than retail loool
Gosh. Your honesty is so refreshing. You were one of my faves during that season (if not my fave - it's hazy). You are successful and will be even more so in the near future!
It doesn’t take much to be honest, I more admired his self respect, he didn’t give in to the ‘Lord’ and instead followed his own path. A man of true integrity and pride, what a don.
All the points you made makes perfect sense. Totally understand and I respect that you left because of the way you were feeling. You've certainly got the personality of an entrepreneur
This is super interesting, thanks for uploading this. As a business owner myself I've considered applying so this is good to know. I remember when you quit as I had a bet on you with my housemates - when candidates were fired we had to buy ice cream for the house. As you weren't fired, I tried to argue I didn't have to! It didnt go down well. Suggestion for future videos - can you talk about what it was like day to day? Did you have days off? Did tasks overlap? How long did it take? Etc. Really interesting!
I was literally so proud when you did this-it was long overdue that someone put lord Sugar in his place and you left with your dignity in tact. I love the show but Lord Sugar has a God complex.
Spot on! I know Mark Wright from the process and he literally said the same thing! "Doesn't matter how good or bad you are, they can make you look like an idiot!" Fair play to you! Can't blame you at all for doing what you did!
When you stand back and look at it, "Lord" Sugar's Amstrad business was riding high in the 80s but he presided over its demise. Most, if not all, of his ventures in the late 90s and 00s were failures until all that was left was set top boxes for Sky. In the end, Sky bought the company for a laughably low amount when you consider how big the company used to be. He is not the big cheese that The Apprentice makes him out to be.
The reason he has a lot of money today is indeed from flipping properties. My point is the way the show makes him out to be some sort of God when he has made some horrendous decisions. Lol, the e-mailer was brilliant. A device in the home that let’s you e-mail. Or you could just use your computer....
To be completely honest Alan Sugar is a bit of a disgrace he plays up so much for the cameras. I do get that it’s entertainment and he is a very successful man who’s standards are very high, but it’s really not worth tearing people down for your own ego. I agree with you I do think he was completely disrespectful in that meeting where you left and think you made the right decision.
Tbh, I would say that tearing people down is unhelpful in the sense that people don’t improve from abuse because it doesn’t tell you how to improve. However, I don’t think Sugar is that bad, I actually think he gives constructive criticism a lot, and the contestants could do with using some of his advice. Having said that though, I agree that he disrespected Scott, what he said was degrading indeed. Scott did himself proud by leaving, Sugar was out of order there.
If you know anything about Alan, he probably was much more of a beast when he was in his younger days. Over the years you see him calm down. It’s just his style doing business etc.
The holder of nuggets I can appreciate the tough love approach, I think nothing should be sugar coated otherwise certain statements or learning opportunities lose their weight. But I feel like Alan Sugar certainly has BBC producers in his ear telling him to add some theatrics to his feedback, I think there’s a difference in telling someone their worthless and don’t really deserve the opportunity given to them and being told that they’ve got something completely wrong and they must correct the course. When someone isn’t recognised for good and only bad, like Scott said, it can turn a bright eyed, bushy tailed and motivated individual into a negative cynic and that’s not right in my humble opinion.
