jetshockey5 Pharrell does play piano though, you can look up videos. And Chad of the Neptunes definitely plays piano and the Neptunes probably have more hits than anyone. And let's see Storch chop up a sample like Kanye, Pete Rock, or DJ Premier. Just because these guys aren't instrumentalists doesn't mean they aren't musically gifted. They were just never formally trained. Scott Storch is still probably in my top 5 though in terms of the amount of hits he's produced
Joel Williams Timberland killed his career... I honestly wish they wouldve never came along. This guy is way better than them. They just do sample beats. This guy actually makes them.

@@andrejkelcik4133 its not just the drum beats its also some of the effects. Scorch is great no doubt and the fact is he created these melodies, but fact is also that Dre produced the rest and brought it to the artist.

The song sounds a lot like Minnie riperton - loving you, it has that sweet melody to it. Any one any idea on the song @ 1:28? Still the last song (1:38) is what we all want to find or at least have some more info on.
All he ever plays is chords. I just don't see what all the fuss is about this guy. Yeah he has had alot of success but most of the time you are in the right place at the right time and with the right people. And no, I am not envious and wish I was like him. I can play chords though....I can also compose with out the need for weed or stimulants....in fact I discovered I produced better music once I stopped drinking and using gear. I wonder if he could? I suspect he could but he is so dependent on weed that he is scared to try. The guy is a really decent humble guy though. Which is rare in music.
+StreetMoneyPuzzles32 And Storch wasnt given much credit genius. Note back then Dre used to get full credit even for stuff he didnt even do. Tupacs hardest beats on his All Eyes On Me Album were by Devonte not Dre. Yet Dre got alot of credit for Pacs album. Pac himself even said this

He really is one of the greatest producers in the industry. Crazy talented on the piano and he's self-taught too! Hope he's gonna produce a lot more beats in the future.
Dr. Dre did produce those songs. Scott Storch played as a studio musician on them. The same thing Quincy Jones, Rick Rubin and many other producers have been doing forever. Producers don't actually play the instrumental sometimes, they just direct the musical composition.....

Man I hate that drugs ruined this man. He was iconic at the height of his career but he could have been legendary. It sucks that he's not listed in conjunction to other greats like Dre, Dj Premier, Kanye, Pharrell, Just Blaze, Pete Rock, J Dilla and Timbaland when he has the track record, albeit limited, to be thrown into that discussion
