You could see the frustration in Mark when he got a question wrong in the head to head. Probably didn't feel good losing to someone who knew none of the answers.
Lesley Ann got the easiest money ever won on the chaser. 1,000 in the cash-builder, took the -2000, guessed most of the answers, and smiled through the final chase.
Scott Woodthorpe I have to admit that I have watched a show, where a contestant took the minus offer, and the other contestants openly wanted him to lose. They were happy went he got a question wrong. It looked so unprofessional, so good on you guys.. You handled it well and really a part of the game like you said.
Eh, unless the team gives consent for you to take the lower offer I think they're entire justified in taking it badly. You're not just failing to contribute anything to the pot, you're not just actively taking away from the other's hard work, but you're also splitting the money the others have earned to enrich yourself whilst doing so. It's honestly a really shitty thing to do. It's fine if the team have given their consent because they want you in the final chase or whatever but aside from that, taking a minus offer is a giant middle finger to your teammates and just screams "I'm a selfish knob, give me money for nothing".
Lesley-Ann deserved to win nothing, she was one of the dumbest people they have had on The Chase. These kind of TV game shows give an opportunity for others to feed of other intelligent people. Mel put hours and hours of revision and experience into winning his proportion, Lesley-Ann put about 30 minutes before the show began. Shhheesh.
She said being brave was choosing what she'd earned It's not about criticism. What drives someone who knows pretty much nothing across the board to go on a show like this? What?
observerobserver that is unfortunately the nature of this show Anybody can get on this show and if they’re lucky, can get a decent team who may even build the pot hugely, then to guarantee they get a potential share, they go low and take money off the team The minus offer is one of the most tactical and depressing parts of the game. Taking it may win your team the game, but doing so may destroy the teams morale.
It is disgusting for the chaser and Brad to encourage the dumb ones to go negative and lose the good and smart players their money. They certainly do not need her to help them earn money. When she gets home, and she is giggling and bragging about the money she won, I hope her friends explain she took the other players money from them for her ignorant self. The nurse doesn’t seen too happy after she did that. It’s funny she is the only one smiling. Everytime I see her smiling, I could scream. I am unsubscribing I and will not watch it again.
Instead of winning £19000 divided by 3 players they won £17000 divided by 4 players. That makes out to be an extra £2083,33 for each person if Lesley-Ann did not make it to the final round. That is good money if that had been the case.
The irony is that the least intelligent of the lot became the smartest. She won something for nothing! But i feel its not fair to the rest, but thats the way it is i guess.
It was still smart of Lesley Ann to choose the minus 2 grand. She didn't really contribute much of anything EXCEPT giving the team an extra step in the beginning of the final chase. However, if the set of questions in the final chase HAD some current "pop culture" questions Lesley might had been able to contribute.
Eurostar trains travel through which sea tunnel? Stale items of which food? Which Startrek character was born in Scotland? Why obviously it must be Sulu the kilt wearer from that well known clan or else Hamish MacSpock!
The centre/center question was odd to me. Does this mean English and US English both only use one spelling? I’m in Australia, we use both for different meanings. In the center (middle) of the room vs shopping centre, community centre. Like meter and metre are different things for instance.
Yes. US English would never spell it centre, no matter the meaning. I can't attest to whether the Brits would use both spellings though. I cant think of a single "...-re" ending word in US English (outside the unchangeable ones ie "are"). Those types of words are exclusively spelled "..-er," and most school teachers would take points off anything spelled the British fashion and call it wrong.
@@llddau agreed! My parents were British expats, and I went to Uni in Scotland, so I do tend to follow a lot of British spelling trends: "colour" and "favourite" and such, although I had all other schooling in the US. So in the US the spelling differences really do matter because most people will look at it and ask you "didn't you spell that word wrong?? Or is it a typo? You should fix it, it's confusing" haha. Also things like "Aluminum" in the US (pronunciation difference included) and "Aluminium" in British. I frankly find it intereting the way "correct" English (as opposed to local dialects) differs between the two countries 😄 I'd love to live Australia and NZ though and see the differences there too!
@@SandraNLN We basically use proper English, so English with an accent ;) Meanwhile the millions of accents in the UK is crazy isn’t it? Even though the Kiwis can’t speak it, that’s not an accent it’s just funny weirdos. But we love them anyway, we’ve got to because there’s almost more Kiwis here than over there!
Funny how Bradley asks the contestants questions as slow as he can, then when it comes to the chaser he speeds up, why does he call them " my team" when in actual fact he's working against them
Osmosis Jones If the crew felt like these advantages were too big, they just shouldn't have implemented them in the first case instead of sneaking tricks like this one in.
Seems he’s a regular quizzer. Did well on cash builder. Not so good on final chase. He answered 1 question. Lesley Ann nil. If it wasn’t for Mel they would at have half that score.
i knew the moment i saw that blonde girl that she was gonna be the leech.. even if the offer was -12000 she would've taken that one. why can't the other contestants just be honest and they always say we need you here.
Wow, y'all are damn MEAN to someone you don't even KNOW! Saying you hate her, she's dumb, she's a thief, etc. It's a fricken GAMESHOW, she played the GAME by its own rules! It's not your white-knight duty to defend the other contestants, they could have taken it up with her later, personally. None of our business, frankly. They all knew what they were signing up for. Could be that they all lost and went home with nothing regardless! Geez! Guess what? The money isn't even real until it's won. And it's rare that even happens. She didn't "take 2k away" from anyone. She did not take it out of their wallets and hand it to Bradley. It doesn't work like that, people are so venomous! As if in all the hundreds and hundreds of episodes of this show, contestants haven't taken minus offer before, or tried to go big or middle and lost the final chase for everyone. How is that not taking money away from everyone, but this is? Theoretical money can't be stolen.
People take minus offers, there's no problem with that. The problem with the stupid girl is that in all the show she has answered ONE right question only, and brought nothing to the table.
I prefer Aussie Millionaire Hot Seat. At least all the money is YOURS, you don't have leeches taking the low offer just share other contestant's hard-earned prize money. I recently watched an episode of The Chase where a woman took the minus THIRTEEN THOUSAND dollar offer.
1. Cowardly, selfish Mel--too chicken to take the high offer (wanting to get back for the money), and edges Lisa to do so. 2. Being dumb (so many passes) and selfish (wanting to get back for the money) is bad enough, but Lesley-Ann`s constant giggling is so irritating. 3. A shameful record: Lesley-Ann was TOTALLY silent in the final chase.
This has to be hardest trivia game show ever made, and the chances to win are to the floor, and the payout isnt even that rewarding when you survive all of that.
LuchoVena it's up there all right Then again it is worth it when somebody goes high gets away with it and then you have 80k in the pot to share, that's a lot of money to play for And nothing can beat the final chase either

I have venomous bile in my mouth. I'm sure she was a nice person, but I would have told Lesley "pick 50 or I will personally destroy you on commercial Television Well done Scott.
in the opening sequence when Bradley says"tjhere's just 1 thing standing in their way...the Chaser' is that a carboard cutout, or a dummy sitting in the chair?
Is Mark not familiar with the war of 1812? It wasn't the distance that "saved Canada", it was America's hubris and the very assumption that all they would have to do was march into Canada and Britain would come to negotiations. They underestimated the resistance they would face and ultimately were brought to status quo terms after Napoleon abdicated and Britain was able to focus more troops. Canada also razed the US Capitol in the war.
In the early years we would be thinking taking THE MINUS OFFER was rather selfish of players, but nowadays that could make the difference between the whole team winning or losing in The All Important Final Chase! Though I can see what some of you mean, Lesley-Ann to THE MINUS OFFER and only just managed to Survive The Personal Chase Round!
@@ScottWoodthorpe I know Mark personally from where he was a chaser here in the US, I had the pleasure of meeting him and having dinner with him one night at an Applebee's just up the road from where they used to shoot the chase US. He seems like a nice man in person and on the show. And Bradley just can't stop laughing at everything that comes up on the show lol, he is funny to watch, I wish there were more full episodes on RU-vid because here in the US I can't watch the chase anymore.
lol when he said that I said “Are you serious???” I’m from VA. Not saying the KY is horrible, and it does have Lexington and the Kentucky Derby, but his favorite?
Kentucky has the Great Smoky Mountains and an overall beautiful landscape and wildlife. I’m not surprised he liked it more than some metropolitan shithole full of bums and thugs. By the way I’m not from Kentucky, but it is a nice state.
It's funny how Brits talk shit on America n claim Americans are loud n obnoxious yet so many people say if they win they want to go somewhere in America I guess America can't be too bad if these contestants keep looking to go n visit it n when Brits come to America Americans are so nice to the Brits we're far from loud n obnoxious were actually really nice n not miserable like most Brits are
Congratulations. I'd love to be on the show. I'm a subeditor also. The problem is, I'm American. There is an American version of the show, but I don't think they'd ever choose me.
I can understand why. The producers made some terrible decisions. If they had stuck more closely to the UK version, it would have been better. But GSN just cancelled the American version, so it's almost a relief.
Mark Labbett: Absolutely the smart move. Bud: Yes, there's no point in staying the middle. Either go high or low. Ollie: I agree with you. And minus 2 isn't a lot to take from the prize fund.
Proportionally it was. 3 players with £19,000 get over £6,000 each. Four players with one docking £2,000 leaves £17,000 shared four ways i.e £4,250 so she took two thousand from EACH of them really not just two thousand out the pot. You have to look at the bigger picture.
To be fair to Lesley I only knew 3 of her questions but only got ONE of all the others wrong...so am I thick too?....she didnt know the answer ...if you dont know something then you just dont know...unfair calling her dumb...she had some hard Q`s...even mark got one wrong of them...how many of you can say honestly you knew her chase Q`s...I bet no one got them all right. Last year a Barrister played got 1 q right and was sent home so go figure...I give her praise for being brave to have a go...
