Pippen on the fast break was probably the scariest sight. he could pull-up for 3, drive for a dunk, dish for a wide open look or hit a mid range jumper. 5 tool player
Pippen took a lot of flak for saying that he was Lebron before Lebron. In fact he was probably underselling himself. Pippen is the prototype for ALL modern players: long, quick, can handle, can pass well, can shoot. In fact it's difficult to imagine being a lottery pick anymore without having measureables approximately at what Pippen had. Those days you could be slow if you were a seven-footer, or short if you could score. Of the players in the video, none would look more at home in the NBA of 2022 than Pippen, not even Jordan. Jordan's the GOAT but even he'd have to change his game to still be the GOAT today.
Scottie averaged 20.8 points 8.3 rebounds and 7.7 assists in this finals. During the first three peat Scottie never averaged under 20 points a game during the finals.

Remember 1996 with the messed up ankle but I tought he was playing well in the 1997 playoffs until he hurt his ankle in gm 5 against the heat in the ECF and as we know he played the jazz series on a torn tendon in his ankle and he had the back in injury against the jazz.
@@artofversatility6141 but what pisses me off that no one mentions that game 6 of the 1998 finals that the reason that game came down to that Jordan last second shot is because pippen missed two quarters because of his back injury and that not my opinion that's a fact I believe if he doesn't hurt his back the bulls win that game by 5 to 8 points and you got people like that no knowing basketball skip Bayless who won't mention that.
I just want to put this out there about people who think Jordan would have won more with any other superstar. Something everyone overlooks. Fans like Jordan... players did not. Before Pippen, Jordan won nothing. After Pippen, Jordan won nothing and vice versa. There is a reason why Jordan said even in 2022, that Pippen is his MVP teammate. No other NBA Superstar would put up with Jordan's shit. They would DEMAND equal respect or they won't work with him. It's no secret and has not been a secret that most of the other Bull Players could not get along with Jordan's "attitude". Winning or not. However, PIPPEN could. Pippen was the buffer and the gell that held the Team together. Kerr said it, Saley said it, Phil Jackson said, Hodges, Horace, etc. None of this is an opinion, all of it comes out to the mouths of the players. Jordan would not work well with the other players because he DEMANDS to be the GOAT and every player has an ego and they would not let that happen. Every player, except Scottie Pippen. If Jordan fans weren't so scared to see the ugly side of Jordan and read Pippen's book, Pippen said, he had to LIE to himself about Jordan to make it work. Everyone misses the Mental part of this. Pippen endured, injuries, insults to his leadership with the team, overshadowing, underpaid, disrespected by management, his poor family... and despite it all, he sacrificed his personal life to let Jordan get his demand. In return (in the long run) he won 6 Championships, two 3 peats, finally got paid the millions he was owed in the later years and after all that sacrifice, something no other superstar would do, they blemish him in the last dance. If you can't see why Pippen is upset, you're not human. In my opinion, how he went about responding to Jordan was too reckless, but, I do understand and sympathize with him. There is but so much you can take. This "Pippen" should be grateful that Jordan got him 6 Championships is complete nonsense. He earned them. Jordan "SAID SO". That's why he's JORDAN'S MVP. JORDAN SAID SO. Those are Jordan's words, not my opinion. Hopefully, over time, the two will apologize to each other. I believe Pippen finally let the demons out and this is what was needed for him as a person. He kept his ego in check for 6 rings. Kobe would not do that, Nor would Shaq, Kemp, Lebron, anyone! Look at the Super Star players today, they all want to be the man. There are exceptions though, like Giannis, Curry, Green but that list is very short. VERY!
Pippen had Hakeem and Barkley and a stacked Portland team after Jordan, Jordan had provety franchise before and after Pippen developed into a great player. Jordan had the 19 win Wizards 26-21 at All-Star break on a track for a top 3 seat in the East before his injury. Phil called Jordan the ultimate puppeteer for a reason, you would have to be delusional to think Jordan wouldn't have won 6 or more ring with Hakeem, Robinson, Ewing, Barkley, Shaq, Miller etc. Pippen should 💯 percent be greatful that he got to ride the bench and develop as a player with no pressure of having to be the teams best player night in and night win or lose. Jordan teammates praise him as a leader and his work ethic including Pippen, especially in hindsight. And Pippen wasn't blemished in TLD that is what happened. Kukoc and Pippen both had Jordan induct them into the HOF.

Pippen was just a role player coming off the bench when Jordan was the MVP of the league. Jordan played winning basketball, he dragged a decent bulls team to the second round in 88' and a slightly better team which still had Pippen as a role player in 89' to game 6 of the eastern conference finals.
