Farm Aid is a festival held every year where artists perform free concerts to help raise money for farmers who need help financially. Great reaction Don! You should check out their other stuff like Boot Scootin Boogie, Red Dirt Road and My Maria.
Man... Brooks and Dunn has So Many hits.. Definitely need to check out more by them..Boot Scootin Boogie, My Maria, Cool Drink of Water, I Believe, Red Dirt Road... many more:)
I really love the idea. I haven't heard the song, but I understand what it's about. It might open the door for some folks to say a little in the comment section about where they actually were that day. I know it's been twenty years, but it's also like yesterday in a way. It might be a good outlet for some of us. I think you have a great suggestion.
You might have looked them up already, someone may have commented with a good bio on Brooks and Dunn, i don't know. They are also one of my favorite groups and I am not a big Country and Western follower. I don't dislike the genre, just some of the songs and/ or artists. I like Brooks and Dunn for their music. The reason I am commenting is for the political aspects of this song. Or maybe it would be more accurate to say the Apolitical aspects of this song. It sums up America fairly well. No suggestions that only those or these people are real Americans, or this or that belief are the only true patriots. No, it reflects the melting pot that this country is. I was familiar with this song but never really sat down and listened to it. I just like them even more now. Thanks for posting this song and thank you to the patron who requested it.
Grate pick of live performance. Lead singer Ronnie Dunn is just brilliant. Their harmony is perfect. The Marines on stage probably never saluted such a huge crowd.
I love watching your reactions. It makes me so happy to see someone on another country be proud of us and happy we are here. I and my late husband met when I was an Airmen and He was a SSgt in the Air Force. I took my discharge after we married. He made a career out of it. I am so afraid for our country now. The enemy is in our own back yards. Please pray for us.
Even if you do not do a "Reaction Video", please check out "Red Skelton and the Pledge of Allegiance". He was a famous Vaudeville performer in the past; a brilliant comedian, very wholesome. But, when he did this...wow! It really ought to be mandatory viewing for every school in America...especially today.
This was 2 days after 9/11 not far from where Flight 91 went down in Pennsylvania. They were really unsure about doing this Farm Aid but people were showing up and they were really unsure about opening with this song. They rushed to get a few marines to honor what they knew was going to be something huge. Brooks And Dunn were the top Country Duo in the 80’s and early 90’s. They were 46 and 48 respectively on 9/11.
I'm part Irish, Scottish, English... you get the idea... I LOVE your Scottish accent... to me it's an accent, to you it's just the way you learned to talk growing up! Anyway, I enjoy watching your reaction videos because you get so excited about the American Patriotism that we have here.... and as a U.S. Army Veteran, I truly appreciate that! In previous videos, you talked about serving along side our American troops in Iraq.... so I can understand how you can get so excited about our country and our military history... just curious? Have you ever been to America? If so, where have you been, and if not, have you ever thought about where you would you like to visit? I live in Florence, SC, grew up in Williamsville, New York (a suburb of Buffalo, NY, home of "Buffalo Chicken Wings" were they originated), I was stationed at Ft. Carson, Colorado in Colorado Springs where you have Pike's Peak, part of the Rocky Mountain range named after an explorer named Zebulon Pike in the 1800's... the elevation in 14, 115 feet... I've been to the top a number of times... the view is AMAZING!) I've been to other states as well, just curious where you would like to go if you haven't been here yet... I don't know about what kinds of food you enjoy, but here in our country... each state has a variety of "cuisine specialties" so to speak... like South Carolina is known for is BBQ, Seafood, Krispy Kreme (pronounced Crispy Cream) doughnuts, to name a few, Buffalo is known for Buffalo Chicken wings, sponge candy, Beef on Weck (delicious juicy roast beef on a Chimelwich roll... I miss those!) .... each state will make you want to go back for more.... or just stay there and overeat!! LOL! Just curious where you'd like to go... I notice you like wearing the California shirt.... don't know if you'd like to visit, I'm sure there are still some places to check out that MIGHT still be beautiful, but quite frankly, the politicians have ruined it, a lot of homeless people (because of high taxes, rental properties that cost too much, drug addiction), and for the last 10 years or so, thousands of California residents and businesses have left the state for good because it has gotten so bad... just thought I'd give you an FYI... keep up the great work.... I enjoy your videos, your reactions are awesome!! Have a great day!
I mentioned above the kinds of foods that are special to special parts of our country... a while back, you posted a video of Lee Greenwood with Home Free and members of the U.S. Military singing "God Bless the U.S.A". Home free has members from various parts of the U.S.... Tim Faust (the deep bass singer from Home Free) is from Texas, and he has posted videos of his favorite places to eat in Texas... here's one video, part 2 of 3 videos he does (you don't have to do a reaction to it, just thought I'd share) I thought you'd like to watch and see the mouth watering selections you'd see in Texas.... by the way, what he orders here is for the whole table to share, not just for himself... although there are people who probably could eat that much! I'm sure the cuisine here is much different from what you're used to... what do you think about it? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c356dzt5_a8.html In addition, different parts of the country have their own versions of "BBQ" .... There's Carolina BBQ, Texas BBQ, BBQ in Buffalo, NY... so if you ask for BBQ in one region of the country, they will be very different from another.... have you ever heard of "Fried alligator"... yep, if it's not fast enough in the south... it's fried and eaten! ... LOL Tim orders that at one of the restaurants in this video... well, just check out the video, the music is sung by Home Free .... enjoy!
The Brooks and Dunn Song Only in America was released in June 2001 just about 3 Months before 9/11 and in 2006 Oliver Stone made a Move called World Trade Center which Featured this song at the beginning of The Movie!
Brooks and Dunn were most popular in the late 80s and all through the 90s. Nice reaction. This is one of my favourite songs by them. For a very talented and versatile singer, please🙏 consider doing reactions to Dan Vasc, and start with his newest release, My Mother Told Me. From there, check out any of his 200+ videos; the man can sing anything!
The cat 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks for the laughs on the long road trip we're on right now. On another note, concerts like that are what I'm looking forward to seeing come back 😍😍😍
Kix Brooks & Ronnie Dunn were two solo country artists with a couple Top 100 Country songs in the 1980s. Came together 1990-91 at the advice of a music executive, to become Brooks & Dunn. B&D not only went on to become one of the most successful Duos in Country music, but in American music history!
Brooks and Dunn was big in the 90’s for country music it was the music I grow up on and it’s part of the reason I love country music to this day. Should for sure check out songs by them. Also would love you to react to “something to be proud of” by Montgomery gentry they are another 90’s duo of country music.
I’m glad that you liked the song and video. I’ve seen this live several times and I get teary every time the Military Color Guard comes out on stage. Ronnie Dunn is the lead singer and Kix Brooks is wearing the Cowboy hat. You can’t go wrong with their music. It’s not a patriotic song but “Neon Moon “ is my absolute favorite! Thanks so much for taking my request.
Brooks & Dunn does a cove of an old BJ Thomas song " My Maria" check out Ronnie Dunn's vocal range. He doesn't sing it anymore because it hurts his vocal chords. B&D were the top country duo for over a decade
My favorite songs from Brooks & Dunn are That Ain’t No Way To Go; Whiskey Under the Bridge; Neon Moon; Hard Workin’ Man; She Used To Be Mine; Brand New Man; She’s Not the Cheatin’ Kind; If You See Him, If You See Her (with Reba McEntire); and of course Believe!
There's 101 reasons for farm aid! How awesome the Honor Guard appeared on stage! There's so much awesome, moving music, not limited to the country genere' only.
I hope you and your lovely family come to the states someday. You have plenty of followers that would love to show you around 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Huh...true. I grew up knowing even the sky couldn't limit me..or my dreams..and it worked. This is what we need for every child in the world. I fear that if we fail or fall..the rest of the free world will be falling with us. I pray I'm wrong.
You should really come to the midwest this year (or future, damn COVID!!) and experience our state fairs. I think if we told officials that you're Scottish and wanting an experience they would give it to you. We love sharing the "American experience" with people. Please don't watch American media and think we are that way....We. Are. Not!!
I've seen Brooks & Dunn more than a few times including the tour when this song was new. I've seen hundreds of concerts in many genres this was in my top 3 shows of all time that I have seen. The Eagles Hell freezes over tour and Peter Frampton- ANY of his tours including his final tour round out my top 3. I've seen Frampton multiple times. Another Brooks & Dunn to watch- Believe .
I recall well you boys not blinking an eye after that devastating hurricane a few years back took a second swipe at Texas, flooding out the folks in Houston and the surrounds. Your Cajun Army swamped the roads leading TOWARDS the troubles, big ass pickup trucks to family station wagons, all towing boats big and small, to help people they didn't even know. Yeah, I think young Don could do a heck of a lot worse than visit the place mentioned in that great old song, "The Battle of New Orleans". (loved his reaction to that one) I do know he'll run into some great Americans there.
Great reaction!!! You should check out Five Finger Death Punch's song Other side of Heaven. It's a great song with a lot of meaning. Very powerful and tells a horrific story of war and our veterans. Much love from a proud Army momma.
I loved the beat, the streamers, the energy, and definitely seeing all the people gathered together. I hugged an old friend today. We both had our shots, but it was weird to hug somebody again. Anyway, Donna Maier recommended Alan Jackson's "Where were you when the world stopped turning." I'd like to second that, if I may. I've never heard it, but I'm familiar with the theme, and I think it would be a good idea for all of us. Everybody has a story about that day, including you, The Don. The Donimator. lol
So funny about your cat (hope he’s okay)… I can tell you really enjoy your country music And all the other types you react to. Keep the great videos coming
Would highly recommend checking the music video for this song. Absolutely beautiful music video and sigh keeps the hope that America will find her way once again to what she really is about.
🇨🇦 61YO Love your reaction My favorite Brook and Dunn is 1 Believe ( official video very touching) 2 costs of living 3 Bleed red True and touching songs 🎵 Keep the good work ✌
Yes, Farm Aid was originally put on by Willie Nelson to help family farmers back in the 80s when mortgage debt was out of control because of droughts and other natural disasters making farmers have to take out additional mortgages just to keep afloat. It's become an annual thing. Brooks and Dunn are some of the best country musicians of the late 20th-21st century. By the way, Home Free covers this song on their new album out next month, you're going to love it since you like the patriotic songs, the whole album has a patriotic theme.
