THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE PUBLIC LAND WHITETAIL MAP SCOUTING CONTENT EVER CREATED ON RU-vid.
This is the first video in a ten part series featuring Tyler Jones and K.C. Smith from The Element map scouting, putting eyes and feet on the deer country, then explaining their findings so that you can learn how to find, hunt, and arrow big bucks!
In this episode, the fellas meet up with good friends Sean and Anthony to rip up Land Between The Lakes in Kentucky for some early season whitetail scouting. They key I’m on agriculture, specifically soy beans, to locate and target big public land bucks. Kentucky has one of the earliest season openers in the East, and the guys show you how to capitalize on that opportunity at a velvet whitetail in the south!

My last deer hunt at LBL my car broke down at Lake Barkley Lodge, but I was able to hitch a ride to LBL with other hunters. I did not bag the buck I was after and I left the woods at dark To my surprise the guys I came in with stranded me so I began hiking out on the Trace to get back to Lake Barkley Lodge. That would have been about a 20 mile hike but miraculously an LBL Employee picked me up and got me to the Lodge entrance. Fun stuff. BTW, I always hunt LBL with topographic map and compass . It’s the only way to find a deer stand in the dark. Oh, one more thing, ticks will eat you up in LBL and Rattlesnakes are very common, wear gaitors.

Enjoyed the video fellas! A few take-aways... 1. I liked how y’all were showing OnX while seeing it in person, really helps to see both sides to help us newbies out. 2. I really liked the recipe at the end, if yall could maybe spend a little more time on that portion and break it down a bit more...again for us newbies that are learning this mobile scouting stuff. Thanks guys, y’all are awesome!

I’ve hunted LBL for a few years now, and I noticed a lot of the “roads” yall were showing were actually creek beds. If the line is double dashed on LBL that’s a creek, and the creek beds are deep with big rocks, about impossible to travel on! Just wanted to offer that piece of knowledge that I found out the hard way!

Sam Hogan obviously the camera stealing means people are around, but there wasn’t a ton of hunter sign. We were in a hurry so we didn’t see a ton of country, but Anthony said during regular deer SZN there wasn’t many people around.

@@TheElementWild Just saw this video, about to fill you in on this. BTW, hunt here all the time, and found that close to your second location someone (illegally) baits deer. Be careful you don't hunt close to that. And another fyi, there is enough pressure just about now as hunters are now allowed to hang stands that the deer begin to avoid the soybean fields.
@christoon7848

Im guessing yall parked where yall put the crossing pin? If so that first field you walk through has a massive rub line around the perimeter of it from last year. Scouted that field this spring. Even found hog scat in that area as well

@springbayouarchery337
@springbayouarchery337 2 года назад
@@TheElementWild Not yelling at all. Just thought it odd you presented LBL as a place to kill early season velvet bucks when in fact most all bucks in KY are out of velvet by mid-month. It could miss lead people who watch your channel to assume LBL opens with KY general archery season. I don't claim to make or enforce rules either. I do attempt to correctly represent and follow them. Good luck this season!
