Scouting new spots in time for Cod season - Immingham

With rugby season back under way, I know the weekends when I will be free to fish are going to become few and far between.
Also with winter fast approaching, varying weather conditions will only further reduce my opportunities to wet a line.
With this in mind, I really want to add a couple of new spots to my fishing catalogue. I've fished the Holderness coast now for a couple of years, and also know a couple of spots on the North side of the humber, but Immingham is one of those spots that I've heard a lot about, but have zero experience.
This session, was more about finding my way around the venue, talking to other anglers, and familiarising myself so I can be confident later in the year.
If you have never fished here before either, I hope from the video you can get some idea of what to expect. If you're a regular to the mark, hopefully I'll see you on the wall soon.

Hi mate just watched vid. Your a wee bit early for codling and whiting. Your looking at another 3 weeks. Crabs have been a nightmare down there. Once we get into october iff your going down make sure your early because it gets rammed down there. All the best from GRIMSBY.

Cheers Carl mate. Yeah I wasn't expecting great things, it was purely to suss the area, the tide states etc so that later, when it is busy, I have more of an idea what I'm doing when battling the crowds. Hopefully see you down there some time!

@@theawfulangler yes mate i will be hitting it hard soon down there, so you will most likely see me. Lug n squid or blacks n squid you can't go rong. Dont cast to far either . Hope that helps a bit.

Any local recommendations for bait? The couple I tried only had frozen, maybe that's just the time of year. I think realistically it will towards the end of November before I get a chance, what with the wedding and honeymoon looming, but it looks like an 'all weather' venue so I could become a regular.

@@theawfulangler anglers and danglers , george is a quid cheeper on the others , iff he cant help try hainton ave . Best to ring and order it and its there. Iff you get stuck i'll be able to sort it for you.

I always fish the north side. I thought I would scout a location on the south to try and allow me some shelter from the southerly winds

@@theawfulangler yes mate been put loads at aldbrough and Hornsea and the wall had plenty of whiting no cod on the wall yet though going today and tomorrow see if we can’t change that probs not lol

I haven't really given river fishing much thought. There's just something about it that doesn't grab my attention, I can't explain why though 🤔

@@theawfulangler wow Junc 28 not far at all, must admit i love Anglesey, got some favourite spots around the island. Had a awesome weekend this year, pulled out over 200 macs in one afternoon, alot were small so put them back for next year. Ive been inspired by you fishing on the mersey or humber, im fancying fishing on 31st, last cast of the year, not planned where yet

Yeah, Anglesey is a wicked venue. I remember as a kid it didn't matter what the weather was doing. There was always a spot somewhere that was fishable! It's just the drive, holderness, mersey, Bristol channel, all around 2hrs away, Anglesey is 3, 4 if you want the west side. I'm heading over there for 2 days, though 28/29th, that will January's episodes.

@@theawfulangler i didnt realise Bristol channel was only 2 hrs run, ill look at that, im planning a session at Chesil 2023, been watching a few videos, looks interesting. Ill start looking up spots on mersey and humber, thanks for heads up. Its as you say its the 3 to 4 hour run to Anglesey thats off putting, its not just a quick run out Really enjoying your videos 👌
