@@Retardlican the admin is not controlling anything. Its doing the opposite and actively creating dangerous situations. The foundation is the one protecting humans and if no one is there to "answer the call" then these dangerous situations will just be left unchecked. In the story the admin says something about who will protect people once theirs no one left to guard the cage. A big theme is ends justifing the means. At the end hes whole goal is to let the universe heal and make it a better place. That end is why he becomes everything he hates in the foundation head. His best bet to fight the evil he thinks the scp is, is actually the admin and the best he can do that is him doing that as the eco head as thats the best position to do so and since he killed the last one hes the only one that can do it. To destroy the scp Foundation is to destroy the resistance pretty much what he thought he was doing. There will always be someone to rise up against the foundation just like his friend and hell be killed by soemone more determined no matter how impossible and that persons motives that made him do that will be the same thing that makes him be the new 501. The admin even said go leave only me and you will know youve ever been here vut then ill be left unchecked. So that same person thats capable to take them down always chooses to be the new one aince its the same choice
We just gonna ignore the fact that 05-1 dodged an attack from the gate guardian, which moves faster than the eye can see, and then somehow killed it with a reality anchor? Makes no sense.
He was "anomalied" up. Somehow he could predict the future and bend reality himself... hahahaha yeah it's total BS but entertainment tho. who was kind of a bummer how they nerfed and left out almost all the SCP's. In conclusion; you're absolutely right but try to not think so deep or question because this isn't canon.
Because "The way it ends" is a poorly written self-insert rich piece of junk that tries way too hard to ram stuff like references and things that are utterly contradictory to everything else in universe into it.
Just like everyone ignores the 10,000 inaccuracies and holes in the SCP story, yet pretend like it’s some sort of real occurrence. It’s honestly fucking absurd, there are as many inaccuracies and holes as there is content.
That story was so fucking stupid. The ending made no sense at all. As if none of them had even come up with the thought of what happens after the SCP-Foundation is destroyed... "OH MY GOD WHAT A TWIST". So stupid.
@@Nekoksu At least it's an unique take that isn't a monster or some unknown anomalous entity. Plus, the Killsquad could have been more focused on the mission and threats rather than the aftermath. I'd take this rather than a world ending black hole anyday.
@@arsenal4739 Ok? What's your point? Why did you write this comment? I do not care if you liked this more than the other choises. This story was stupid nonetheless.
That reminds me of I think the first or second episode of Futurama, when Fry tells Bender to bend the bars, and Bender says no, gets electrocuted, then says, "You make a persuasive argument, Fry!" XD
Personally, I prefer the misspelling "oroboro cycle" because without the extra letters, it's the same backwards and forwards, making the word itself somewhat of a cycle
I have zero idea what Calvin's original plan was if being told 'you need to replace them or the organization you planned to destroy from the start won't be able to protect people anymore' was enough for him to do a 180...
@@purtlethetenguin Surely he should've foreseen that destroying the SCP would lead to this before setting off to this grand adventure. Otherwise that sounds rather dumb.
I think he planned on the goc picking up the slack, but this vid leaves out too many vital details. the original article more or less states that the administrator is the source of anomalies and that it will continue to exist even after the foundation is gone. this vid also leaves out the part where aaron killed the human administrator but it continues to exist as an abstract being, and it convinces calvin to become o5-1 to try to find a way to end it for good with the foundation's resources
@@Mad_Dog_of_the_Regime The SCP Foundation was found to be the reason behind all of the anomalies of the world so that's why he believed that ending them would prevent any thing else from occuring
Exactly. And the first two seem so disconnected from eachother and the rest of the thing. The only part that makes sense to me is 1. The foundation gets made 2. This shit happens 3. Council dies 4. The one who kills the last member becomes the new last member (05-1) 5. The foundation stays for a bit longer until this shit starts over again
It's only now over a dozen videos already watched, that it's occurred to me to wonder about the sounds the characters make under the narration. The mental image of someone recording little emotional nonsense noises is adorable.
I now imagine them animated either by Digital Frontier (RE: Damnation, Gantz: 0), Polygon Pictures (BLAME!, Ajin), Studio Orange (Godzilla: Singular Point, Land of the Lustrous), or ufotable (God Eater, Fate franchise)... however, it's all in Netflix.
@@excalibur5118 Hmmm... Let's have Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim), Erik Matti (Buybust), and Justin Lin (Conjuring, Fast saga) direct and produce it?
@@bigjalapeno7061 682 doesn't need such a moron to let him kill. Since the American isnt immortal anymore, 682 would just rip him apart and kill everyone.
@@revolverocelot1380 That's assuming that 682 knows that the American lost his immortality. The narrator also mentioned that the American was using a whip so maybe that had something to do with how he controlled 682
I'm sorry but "the way it ends" seems like it's written by a 15 year old who's just had a literature class and decided to write a fanfic with as many self inserts and in-universe contradictory things as possible under the guise of "but it is cool tho"
on top of that the whole cycle could be undone if the dude simply pressed the button or, even better, killed himself, breaking the cycle and leaving no one to be O5-1 breaking the cycle indefinitely, heck I'm sure if he pressed the button he would die as well, it's so contradictory to the story development of the character, there was nothing really giving him the idea that he could be the next O5-1, no sense of temptation, no development, it just disregards who he is and the sacrifices made simply for the sake of subverting expectations, it's like making Danny from GOT go mad for madness sake but at least in GOT there were hints to it happening, references made and a minor amount of development towards that, but it was still forced and done entirely wrong, throughout the show Danny never hurt civilians, she only went after the people responsible, yet this one time she's like, nah fuck that, even though she had the opportunity to just go after the one person in charge. Character decisions not based on development are terrible decisions forced by the writer.
@@ThatKid22101 yea I have to agree with you. Typically I choose to ignore the little "plot" holes in some of these SCP videos. However the ending of "The Way It Ends" is honestly just trash. There is zero logical reasoning for the dude to "become 05-1" other than "people will die because of the scps". Correct me if Im wrong but none of these videos really seem to fit into a large overarching cycle. Like there are just a couple mini cycles and a few instances depicting the council abusing their power.
You see, this is the writing of Djkaktus. His writing feels mostly like they are written by a 15 year old and he spends a egregious amount of time on any story. The reason why people love said stories is because they are long, so they must be written well. SCP-6666 is one of his many really long articles like everything else he does nowadays. Long, boring, shallow, and stupid. At least 6500 has an interesting premise- 6666 is just whatever it is. Katkus loses sight of how to write a story. He basically manages to make the scp foundation a evil reality warping group that has manipulated existence, makes sure the killsquad gets every single chance to bullshit their way out of things that would be impossible to survive in, stupid shit happens like the american riding 682 into battle (that’s just fucking retarded lol), and so forth. There are insane amount of contradictory statements and parts in a single chapter, and most of the assassinations are the same. It’s not just the video, because the video accurately represents what happens in the series in a shortened manner. The worst part is that the way it ends doesn’t even line up with the other 3 parts. Part 1, Part 2, and I guess part 3 manage to line itself into one cohesive fashion, but then part 4 is just some chaos insurgency jerkoff fest and “oh how much can i make the foundation evil”? He barely even makes them evil, by the way. They just show some instances of the council abusing their power a bit and a few are a bit screwed in the head, but that’s it. His stories are long and frankly pretentious. I believed his stories were good because.. Wala! Presentation! But they’re long, exhausting, and very shallow.
yeah and it's full of cliches , you'd think since it's in the SCP universe it would come with some wacky stuff and strange powers , but it end up being another "dude kills gods by being epic"
Wait Calvin didn't stop and think that without the scp foundation there would be chaos? I thought he was going to have a plan to deal with the scps, but no, he was just stupid.
@@jayyydizzzle So you are saying that at the same time they are able to overcome all of those super smart overseers, but are not able to figure out the end game? Please stop shilling to poor writing. You must be one of the people who likes Captain marvel, The last jedi and The Loki. You have no standards.
I dont understand the bit with 05-11. He tricks her into revealing she has the journal on a chip in her arm, ostensibly has it removed from her, and then just kills himself? With the ability to create false realities at will, even in layers, getting away from or closer to anybody should be a snap for him. Seems a significant plot hole
don't think too much about it... this story is a fanfic with an OC #don'tsteal... read (or listen) to the original version and you'll see your frustration meter filling by the seconds, exploding on the top then foaming for the rest of the reading...
The whole thing makes no sense, the O5's had plenty of opportunities to kill the killsquad, but they didn't and choose to be egomaniacs children instead
There are a lot of plot holes in The Way It Ends. It is by far one of the worst stories I have ever read coming from SCP stuff. The other 3 stories were really cool but the last one was so unbelievably bad.
The Calvin story is so very long and it is all one Deux Ex Machina after the other. And (no spoilers) , but the ending is like "You....you didn't think of that at all beforehand ?"
I was actively getting more and more bothered as it was going along, like all the 05 council are practically braindead and dont even bother grouping up to deal with a small group of chaos insurgency? Or use scps in a meaningful way? And are all blandly evil or so human that it makes you question how they even became 05 in the first place
I know you posted this months ago but- Yeah. That entire section reads like REALLY bad fanfiction. Like, Sonic-OC levels of bad. I was in total disbelief that there was an Explained video this long going into this trite of a story.
@@gxgycf8348 me too, at one point I was like "what the fuck is this plot armor? How does the council suddenly become braindead and doesn't know how to do shit" It got super annoying
Finally finished this. I'd hoped all the stories would tie together somehow, but they just share a theme, a defeatist message about the nature of the SCP Foundation. Disappointing 😓
Wish you'd do more like this and SCP-5000 "Why?", I immensely enjoyed both and the writing is superb. I'm hoping the SCPs connected to Eric would get the same treatment some time soon!
I am instead recommending to watch the video from the eksploring series, because the scp explained channel is heavily modifying the dialogue and they are skipping over a huge amount of lore that is important to the story. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VtM6TNU15uI.html
Oh wow, the ending that connected all of the stories together was certainly an eye opener on how all this is connected Though there is still a lot I don't understand about it, and still more theories that I have swirling around in my head that I can't quite type out right... I was never much a fan of SCP stuff before, but after finding this channel maybe 4-6 months ago I have been enjoying it more than I ever thought I might, so thank you!
For the Desmond anomaly I feel like the foundation wouldn’t even consider destroying other multiverses/Dimensions but continue to contain & enslave like their better half SCP 4730.
Can I just say that this has been the best explanation of the Ouroboros Cycle that I've seen on RU-vid. The way it's formatted makes it much easier to follow along and the graphics help me image the scenarios. Thanks SCP Explained team!
Best visually, they changed ending of The Broken God, and left out the Aaron Siegel arc of The Way It Ends, which ties all 4 proposals into one story and explains who The Administrator is
But how is there an administrator if he got disintegrated by The Children, to recruit Calvin at the end of the How It Ends story? Are they the same universe and time line? And if 05-01 ran off after abusing the power of The Children, then how and when did Aaron become 05-1? Did the previous 05-1 who created The Children become the new Administrator who recruited Aaron and subsequently Calvin? I think The Administrator needs his own deep dive video
@@shadowsa2b Yes, but it covers everything about the ouroboros cycle, something that the videos from scp explained doesn’t. Some of the important things they have skipped is that Anthony in reality is another person that is very important to the story, but i don’t think he even is mentioned here. They have also skipt a huge amount of lore and they have modified the dialog beyond recognition.
Is no one gonna talk about how Calvin literally squeezed the life out of an INFANT? I think the most disgusting part is this. Like what the fuck he just crushes a fetus and no one cares?
I look at this after a week and damn I went full Karen “Uhm excuse me?” mode when I’m not even an adult like what the f*ck was I thinking who is this b*tch
If you enjoyed watching this video, I heavily encourage you to read it because there is *SO MUCH* detail left out in these videos and reading it is actually much better if you want to know more info.
I just love that Adam's perfect reality is one where he is married to the squad lider Kalvin, because in 99% of movies when there is a squad like this one they all go for the woman, and here they just said "fuck it, she has her own perfect life, this two, gay as hell" and I think that beautiful
If you want to contain anomalies, then creating a naked singularity is extremely counterproductive, as a naked singularity would tear the laws of physics apart.
I think the entity that was Calvin Desmond knew that SCP-2317 would escape, so it was trying to destroy its reality as well as other deadly anomalies's realities while it's at it.
Idk quite how to feel after sitting here pretty hungover and watching the whole thing, but hey it was pretty good much like your other videos, thanks for doing what ya'll do, all the best ;]
I’ve got a new scp idea that’s about how either one of the Ouroboros cycle or scp 5000 came first and they had to make the other one to balance out the sheer complexity and length.
I think it wasn't mentioned: the power of the kingdom and the power of the kids looks exactly the same. 05-1, after disappearing created a new church/kingdom (he became more spiritual already), still somehow wielding that power (kids are still alive) thus closing the cycle.
Me when I'm spreading misinformation on the Internet: (In actual story he formed the Chaos Insurgency to destroy Foundation, believing that Council created anomalies like The Administrator, which faked Kingdom of Abaddon to create the children, before going back to find new Administrator during The Broken God to Foundation, and finding "The Seed"(The Way It Ends administrator, conceptual entity in fabric of reality tied to Foundation) continuing legacy of "The Man"(Original Admin) and going back to Foundation to defeat it and stop anomalies)
Imagine Ouroboros as a nine film series. In its make are segments being the first three films, the second three films, and the third three films, obeying the narrative formula of "a trilogy series" across "The Hero's Journey". The problem with Ouroboros however is its inherent agency of self-destruction, for much like its living animal counterpart, that when a snake swallows its own tail it digests itself while still alive. Now imagine that this snake was venomous and with magical properties, that upon an eventual and agonizing death its post-mortem spasms envenomate its body, a feat of necromancy whereby the head of the snake is the now lost third three films, continues to now consume the second three films of its own body length. We're now at a point where the first three films is Yin and Yang to the last three films, a smaller journey trapped like a donut encased by the ever-reviving bite of the last three films, peppered in gastric juices of a disembodied second three films. This is the analogy of SCP anomalies randomly appearing out-of-place within humble beginnings while simultaneously are as black horses to an even-present state of near-apocalypse, that the looping of a simple start towards a simple ending miraculously back again without further growth, is encased by an absolute chaos incarnate to which it seems hapless but to avoid it by some fluke of continuity? The real trouble, the real horror of the Ouroboros Cycle, is only ever really known when the head of the snake will finally consume the first three films of its body length, dissolving itself into an immortal head of eldritch twitching. Desperate to bite anything it can, for when the hand that reaches for its mysteries finally does, as do the greatest authors of our time, the envenomation of reality courses through their veins of the now newly transformed serpent, that then and only then do we glimpse the tenth film that only a literary God could see, depicting what can only be described as "the tragedy of the serpent".
If that weapon can vaporise anything then wouldnt they have the perfect weapon to end most if not all of the scp s ? And stop pretty much any K-class scenario instantly? Sure the hard to destroy reptilr might be immune even to this but i have a feeling that many scp s wouldnt be
Atonement seemed like a setup for the Prisoner's Dilemma, but instead it was just a bunch of O5's agreeing to unleash an extremely powerful being because it might make their paperwork easier. Here's the problem: If there's a multiverse, and it's possible for something in one universe to delete *every* other universe en masse, then it stands to reason that there are multiple universes where such a being can exist. If even *one* of them takes the deal, then every other universe is eliminated. Then there are only three possibilities: 1. Such a scale of destruction is impossible. 2. Destruction is possible, but no universe has taken the deal. 3. "Our" universe is the first one to create such a capability. #3 seems like an extremely unlikely possibility; if "Our" universe experienced any delays in developing such a capability (which it did), then it stands to reason that there those delays didn't happen, and the capability was developed faster. #2 seems a little more likely, but still depends on every other universe acting rationally. SCP-5000 is a good illustration of how quickly that can turn on its head. Which means that the only realistic option is #1: the entity is lying. Therefore, don't release the damn thing.
It's very interesting that "a la maquina" is a very old Mexican expression, that regardless of context, expresses a feel of dread, strangeness, and potentially fear, but always surprise.
