SCP-001 is a Thaumiel Class anomaly also known as Keter Duty.
SCP 001 is a facility designed for the containment of anomalous objects and phenomena which are either uncontainable, or whose attributes would require an insurmountable amount of resources or technological prowess to contain indefinitely.
The halls of SCP001 are broken into several hundred unique containment zones, each housing a pair of anomalous objects or phenomena whose anomalous traits serve to counteract each other in perpetuity.

This is probably now my absolute favourite Scp-001 entry now. A lot of SCP, especially Keter SCP, have the tendency to write themselves as time bombs and ever expending. The worse part is that the various end of the world scenarios seems to never include details about the other world-ending SCP that should be released with the rampage of the one currently chosen by the story. Also, there is a limit on how much an SCP can grow before it gets un-hide-able or uncontainable. Another issue is that it sometimes feels like many Scp could be contained via the help of other Scp yet they seem to not be used. This fixes all of those issues! This SCP is the embodiment of anyone going "couldn't you indefinitely contain X by making it in contact with Y?". This SCP turns the addition of a Keter class from another hyper costly to contain time bomb to a potential smart counter to another Keter. You could make some kind of SCP game with this.

Something they forgot to mention is that there are two versions of Keter Duty. One in a more darker universe of horrors, and one in a brighter universe of whimsy (though they still have horrible world ending SCPs). Something being siphoned from the brighter universe to ensure the darker universe survives (the final notes of each version indicating that things will get better for the darker universe and things will get worse for the brighter universe). So the Keter Duty itself has paired itself with another version to better ensure reality doesn't fall apart.

The actual page for this SCP is really interesting: it has it's own counterpart. The page sometimes shifts when you reload it to Site-001 with even more Keter Duty containments (including 106 and 3333) and a whole new description. It's really cool!

Fun Fact: The title "Keter Duty" is a reference to the series one "Golden Age" during this time period a common punishment mentioned in the articles for violating Protocols was "Keter Duty" where you would presumably become a D-Class and have to deal with Keters. The term was mocked later for not only being overused, but also demonstrating a lack of understanding as to what the Keter class meant.

My theory is it is Keter Duty containing itself with another Keter Duty. The universe with an excess of good being drained to stabilize a universe of grimdark. Thus why the two different messages at the end. The lighter universe will suffer as a result, but the darker universe will get better.

i think a really good containment idea using the threshold would be to match SCP-682 with SCP-096 and SCP-173. most of you may already know why, some may not, but basically the idea is that SCP-173, a.k.a the living statue, constantly needs to be looked at, or it will destroy whatever is i front of it, that isn't looking at it. SCP-682 is the Hard To Destroy Reptile, and it can adapt to any creature or situation to survive, including growing extra sets of eyes to always be looking at The Living Statue. 096 is also known as The Shy Guy, and as his name suggests, incredibly shy. in fact he's so shy, he knows even when a person is looking at his picture. so if 682 keeps his eyes constantly open, 173 will be calm, but 682 may accidentally look at 096, launching him into his rage state. as these two do battle, 682 may close all his eyes to calm down 096, but that will enrage 173, so 682 will open his eyes again, enraging 096 again, thus creating an infinite cycle where three of the most physically powerful, and dangerous SCPs, are locked in a three way deadlock. granted, 682 may adapt a way to develop an incredibly caustic acid inside it's stomach, able to dissolve the other two.. maybe...

I love how they said "Aleph" but it's literally "Dalet". א ≠ ד. Also, it's Bet, and you highlighted Vav. ב ≠ ו. Same as the others, if you did a little research about the letters you'd know that. Millions of people use that language in so many things (Religion, Math, SCP PAGES!!!) The least you could've done was get them correctly.

I can understand getting resh and dalet mixed up, I do it all the time. Or even pronounce Ayin as a yud, but other than that, since the look-alike letters aren’t there (bet, pay, shin/sin) there really shouldn’t be any sort of confusion.

Did you know there are 3 different versions of keter duty. The og keter had to be rewrote and 2 people wanted to do it so they let them both do it so now there is a black and a white version the version you get is random. With different keter anomalys One has a good ending one has a bad ending. They even have two 001 proposals containing each other one of which is the scarlet king. There are a lot more Like scp 3003 the end of history being contained By scp 1233 the moon champion who is leading a rebellion. On the darker side you got The yule man containing the bride of the scarlet king we don't know what it does but it always gets a new toy it replaced 2021 montok. As well as scp 106 the old man vs 3333. Scp 001 when day breaks is contained by another scp 001 where the world ended but the world was at piece. And remember if your ever alone and you hear the way a pattern screams bow your head there sacrifice will be honored

@@sahar1213 depends on the teacher, some people use it and some don’t. Hebrew is weird. When letters are used to represent letters, the letters with dots aren’t used.

Bet is always bet never vet ....its rhe same letter and is set by punctuation when the "bet" is with a dot the sound is "b" when the "bet" is without a dot its dound like "v"...the letter will always be "bet" even if its withowt the dot .... Also in hebrew we dont use punctuation very often most of rhe time the "v or b" dilema is resolved throu predetermined set of rules for example the word "morning" in hebrew is "boker" and it spelled בוקר with no punctuation..but there is a rule that the letter בwill always sound like b when its in the begining of the word The parallel for "v" is vav "ו" and double vav is "w"

Yeah. Its literal Root. The Wanderers Library is often shown with the symbol of a tree with many exposed roots beneath it. Symbolising the branching knowledge contained within the library, and the various realities and entry points within those realities.

Ah. A brand new presentation. I admire how you guys keep putting these out. Though at this point I personally prefer the "God's Blindspot" SCP-001 as it goes to explain why and how there are THOUSANDS of paranormal objects out there with no end in sight. The others are either falsified by the foundation or just the small set of paranormal objects they found before they opened pandora's box. Because you know, the paranormal is supposed to be _excruciatingly rare?_ Why is God letting so many immune-to-bullets invulnerable daemon monsters run amuck in the mortal realm all of a sudden? That's the central question of any candidate for the "true" SCP-001 in my opinion (or any supernatural/paranormal piece of genre writing where God. gods, angels, and/or daemons are confirmed as hard core fact for that instance).

All Foundation Staff are allowed and even encouraged to go visit the humanoids. Let it be said that this is meant for *strictly off duty* personel, with no marks on their record. Snacks, drinks, and anything Foundation personel might need to relax at said spot will be provided by the SCP foundation, within reasonable standards. Examples include things like chips, soda, batteries for controllers, and even alcohol. This is a privilege, and it is expected that all rules and guidelines will be followed.

I swear Keter Duty is somehow behind Laugh is Fun taking place during one of Cousin Johnny's Black level events. No one in the Foundation been able to stop a black level event and yet Laugh is Fun did just that while at the same time Cousin Johnny took the blow of Laugh is Fun's affects on the corpse.

Pretty cool that Site-100 is the Kabbalah Tree of Life. I've seen this before in Black Clover. Day 48 of asking the O5 to use SCP-1968 to create a universe in which 682 doesn't exist.

The last story, after doing some research, wouldn't make sense at face value. But apparently the dog priest wants to spread the legend of itself. Thus, perhaps it decided that, at SCP-001's behest, that the best way to do this was to protect the wrongfully accused. That does sound like a good legend.

What they don't want you to know is that Keter Duty is deliberately made to sound like an extremely unpleasant punishment for the sole purpose of discouraging people from _actively trying to acquire anomalous capabilities,_ such as Marvel Universe-esque superpowers, or even Stands from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (dubbed "Hirose-class manifestations," as a reference to Koichi Hirose from "Diamond Is Unbreakable"). Which is just another way of saying that Keter Duty is actually so freaking cool that they have to hide how cool it is because then everyone would want to do it.

I understand that Hebrew is most likely not a language they are fluent in, but for those interested, with the sole exception of root "ש", the letters they labelled for each root were incorrect. The correct letters for each root are: Aleph (Archives to Core): א Bet (Sapient Containment to Core): ב Daled (Conceptual Containment to Core): ד Vav (Esoteric Containment to Conceptual Containment): ו Tzadi (Administration to CMS Containment): צ Peh (Archives to Administration): פ Shin (Sapient Containment to Conceptual Containment): ש
