SCP 096 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as The Shy Guy.
SCP-096 is a humanoid creature measuring approximately 2.38 meters in height. Subject shows very little muscle mass, with preliminary analysis of body mass suggesting mild malnutrition.
SCP096 is normally extremely docile, with pressure sensors inside its cell indicating it spends most of the day pacing by the eastern wall. However, when someone views SCP-096's face, whether it be directly, via video recording, or even a photograph, it will enter a stage of considerable emotional distress. SCP096 will cover its face with its hands and begin screaming, crying, and babbling incoherently. Approximately one (1) to two (2) minutes after the first viewing, SCP-096 will begin running to the person who viewed its face.

@@Sansyuko non-canon and just a fucking game theory.... scp 096 never was human, it is from birth a humanoid beast plus that all victims of king of mountain who survived was perfectly fine and they doesn't become monsters instead they in the moment when looks in scp 1584's eyes, they see things on who the human mind can't understand but they physical still remain normal, since 096's all physical capabilities aren't powers, abilities and they are ultimate body proprieties, it is a natural thing with who the creature was born not a paranormal cursed, the only cursed for scp 096 is the fact that it was born, it doesn't become monstrous being tortured by a supranatural human entity and 096 was born exactly so how it is.... and its depresion is because the human societity rejected and bully poor shy guy still when the creature was young and this remain its eternal goal the fact like any living things who see his face will look with disgust, anger and fear things on who make scp 096 to become angry and a hatred creature and of this is sad because it was no born to live with mortals species and it is like a ultimate apex predator or a ultimate unstoppable force of nature in an humanoid form, since scp 096's fate is to be alone forever because this is the creature's nature(a bigger cursed for us humans) but for 096 is just its life and nothing can't change that because 096's fate its eternal.

Can the foundation at least give him, like, a few pillows and a blanket? Just *something* 096 can use for comfort? I understand he's not fully human and may not *need* them, but it's not like those things are dangerous. Just, you know. Something for him to feel a little warm. Also, imagine being that blind man after the killing, not being able to find anyone and maybe discovering the bodies. Can he get to the town alone? What if he can't? Will he know it was 096 who did the killing? I feel sorry for both them; 096 just wanted a safe place and a friend, and the old man just wanted to do a good thing and have some company ;;

The problem with the SCP project is the high number of edgelords in the community who keep writing the Foundation as highly incompetent psychopaths. They treat 096 like dirt. They don’t properly contain 173. They needlessly antagonise 682. They refuse basic amenities and do nonsensical things to numerous others. I suppose it’s for the sake of entertainment. Though I’d argue that constant containment breaches because your staff are morons gets old real fast but here we are.

173 is based on the weeping angels from Doctor Who. So I am assuming that it's rules are similar if not the same, if it believes that something is alive and can see it and it's in a state of panic it will freeze but the realise that it in fact cannot see it. So it will continue on as though nothing is wrong

I feel like the Foundation could form dome kind of friendly relationship with the Shy Guy, they just can't look at him. Since the Shy Guy dosen't attack of provoked or seen, they could make special procedures and activities with it in order to minimize his pain. I'am Mr. Cookie and I propose we give SCP-096 a mask with cameras, instead of eyeholes. The mask will be tied like a sneaker, so that it won't fall of. The cameras will enable the shy guy to see, so it can wonder around the site and is able actively help the foundation. After sometime it could even be reclassiefied.

I think the SCP foundation should make a helmet permanently attached to 096's head, it would have cameras attached to 096's brain so it could see without exposing its face. Then just have a few nice people who know its sad story befriend it, and give the poor guy a nice, cozy, warm room to live in. It would be more expensive than a cold chamber, but it would never take a human life again, which is a good trade IMO.

This almost makes me wonder; could the scp foundation actually make 096 want to stay around? Not that many members there would ever get to be retirement age; but theoretically, they could make some form of retirement home for everyone who loses their sight in one way or the other. He could actually be around people who are grateful he's there, have his own bed, enjoy music, real food, ect ect. Wasn't there a scp that enjoyed cooking? Idk if I'd say give shyguy lessons and build his confidence off of people complimenting his cooking or outright accidently building the supercharger equivalent of hotel transylvania 😂
