SCP 1007 RU is a Keter Class anomaly also known as The Nietzsche Virus.
SCP-1007-RU is a previously unknown virus that causes an irreversible stepwise mutation of neurons. At the same time, the pain tolerance threshold increases exponentially, but before each stage of cell mutation, the virus carrier experiences pain, the intensity of which almost reaches the current tolerance threshold. The virus is transmitted by airborne, contact and blood-contact routes. A living being infected with SCP1007RU becomes a carrier of the virus.

I wonder what would happen if someone with CIPA (Congenital insensitivity to pain and anhydrosis) got this virus. people with CIPA have a disconnect between their pain receptors and brain so they literally cannot feel pain. Would it have no affect at all? Would they still feel the pain because it's anomalous?

Suffered 2 shattered vertabrea and 3 discs at 21 by 26 one month before my surgery I lost it . I spent that last month like this scp I wouldn't wish it upon Hitler nor Putin. And I despise those men I wish they'd have their fingers broken daily every 11th day restarting the cycle while driving screw into each toe family and taking em out nightly. It still wouldn't compare to having my whole upper body seize and having a baseball sized lump of muscles and nerves in a knot not abled to breath dropping like a sack of potatoes anywhere anytime without warning while already in turmoil I couldn't leave my poor elderly disabled parents at all ..u know how shameful I felt at 26 about to shit took pants down and boom I'm just letting out a huge scream before I hold my breath praying my mom makes it to me to massage the nerves as my diaphragm would seize from it . Most terrifying 30 seconds have even passed out from loss of oxygen waking up to severe pain and my mom crying screaming to my dad to call 911 and me barely able to muster out don't. I'll be ok in a second thank you. But it has changed my whole life for the better I'm an inspiration to so many. I clean my cities streets daily where ever I am if I'm smoking I can pick up some trash and throw it away. And I'm always counciling others who are lost.

Dang, initially this sounded like it might be a failed attempt at a cure to the pestilence/that thing that makes people believe pain is normal and feeds on it, but now I'm thinking it might actually be the exact opposite, a failed attempt by that parasite to make humans capable of feeling even more pain, long term, and failing only at the "long term" part.

I wonder if a compatible neural system could be cloned using SCP-2000 and then the one the subject has could be replaced using SCP-291. It is unlikely it would provide a cure, but it might provide additional insights and, more importantly, some measure of temporary reprieve for those infected.

Pain
@hhhhhhhhhhhhhnhhhhhhh
@hhhhhhhhhhhhhnhhhhhhh 2 года назад
Well I mean if the lizard can adapt to discard signals from it's own nervous system to stop the pain there's no way to stop it other than dropping a giant cage over it cartoon style. Tranquilisers don't work, no recoiling in pain so just constant killing, the acid in it's tank has to be strong enough that it is literally only bones and physically can't move because of no muscles rather than to stop it from properly acting to escape, no amnestics or scps which manipulate the mind or body can stop it, nerve gas, most fire, tasing or electrocution in general does nothing to it other than singe. Even it's own intelligence might change depending on how you see it. A labotomy physically changes the structure of the brain and can downgrade intelligence but the lizard would be fine through that with this adaptation. Depending on what plot armour method it goes through to discard it's own brain signals, the limits of it's own intelligence could be discarded like how the decreased intelligence could be on a labotamised lizard. If it manages to survive though it (which we all know will happen anyway) then everyone's dead pretty much.

I don't feel pain anymore because of something called Cluster Headaches. It's basically your brain trying to explode 4-5 times a day but your skull holds it back. Causing your nerve clusters to be both trying to expand and being squished at the same time. Triggering the physical maximum your brain can process. The only time I feel pain now is during an attack. The rest is like a bad itch.

good premise, however do you mean a non-anomalous foundation researcher or an everyday person who has no idea about the foundation? Because if it is the first one, then this likely happens a lot of the time based on the fact that the O5 council constantly try to kill one another. But if it is the latter then the whole thing falls apart as no one in the council or foundation would ever do that and especially not promote them straight to the role of having level 5 clearance. The only way your average Joe would get to work at the foundation is if they show extreme proficiency in any given field of study.

one experiment they might want to try on two people removing the center of the brain that registers pain; in theory the patient should be incapable of feeling anything at all, including all pain inflected by SCP - 1007- RU. i say two so that there is before and after data to record infect the first person and let it progress till at least stage 3, then remove or otherwise disable the part of the brain the registers pain and see if that affects anything, the second person you remove that part of the brain first and then infect them and watch for any changes. I would advise that a neurologist and an expert in the human nerves system be present in both cases. I would say try replacing the nervous system of an infected patient if that where possible.

I think that problem with this take and also CIPA is that the Virus mutates all your neurons. It probably won't matter whether you have a brain at all as long as your have nerve cells.

if its this powerful couldn't you put it in one of the "immortal" scp's then see if that could kill it? maybe 682 if it continues making everything more painful until it dies it should be able to kill it if it doesn't adapt fast enough.

I have a genetic disorder that acts in a very similar way. As I move, my bones break on a microscopic level. The bones then act like Velcro and pull apart my nerves and muscles. There's no way to stop the bone breaking either as my bone marrow is slowing turning into tumors, ballooning out and exploding at random. I'm in agony 24/7 from this condition.

I dont want to sound heartless, but the SCP foundation used to use d-class for canon fodder because they were convicted murderers. Now, we're worried about rats' and murderers' feelings. But, as much as I'd like to see Dr.Gears run a conveyor belt of d-class into 914, i think it would be more interesting to get a couple videos on the ethics committee, and how staff react to their decisions.

It was weird to me that the virus makes people less susceptible to pain while also inflicting more and more pain per stage. It's like a doctor saving someone's life only to euthanasia them, seems counter-intuitive unless I'm missing something
@4Curses
@4Curses 2 года назад
Well, it's not like SCPs or disease are supposed to have a sense. However, if you remember they said the quiescence period grows exponentially. So it might be quite possible, that if you survive enough stages, you will die of old age, before the next one comes.
