SCP 184 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as The Architect.
SCP-184 is a small, smooth metallic object, 10 cm (4 in) tall and 10 cm (4 in) wide, in the shape of a dodecahedron.
When inside an enclosed structure, SCP184 expands the structure's inner dimensions without altering its outer dimensions.
At this point, SCP-184 starts creating wholly new rooms. SCP-184 is apparently able to copy items from inside the structure, creating furnished rooms consistent with the rest of the structure.

I like how this SCP is an example of why the foundation doesn't simply destroy SCPs. The full extent of SCP-184 is unknown and what it classes as a container, technically the universe is a container so this SCP could be the only thing preventing the universe from collapsing in on itself.

that's only if you believe the universe has any sort of boundaries. If it doesn't, it's not technically a container. That may sound stupid, but think about it for a moment. There's honestly no way, even for "science" to concisely say there is, and even by supposed accepted mainstream "science" the universe is expanding faster than the speed of light. So what's beyond the fringe? Even science can truly only guess.

I'm from Hong Kong and this is was a real place in Kowloon called the Walled City they demolished it in the late 90s I believe. At that time, it was the most densely populated place on earth per square meter

That lone agent made a couple of big mistakes. 1) never go into the potentially dangerous unknown alone. He should have had backup with him just in case. 2) when on a long mission like that, when your survival resources are half depleted, youve gone as far as you can go. Its time to turn back so that you can sustain yourself on the return trip with the remaining half of your supplies.

As a Hong Konger, I can say this is a very good SCP, but thank god I live in Hong Kong Island. Also, I realised that standard SCP infantry use M4-ish rifles, but the Mole Rats use Vector SMGs with the stock replaced by a buffer tube. Yes I’m a gun buff.

@@MrTimelord77 Errrrmm.. No, thats quite defined. As there are ways to consistently enter the backrooms on different levels. And the designs of later rooms confirmed its a oiled machine/system. Sadly the lore shut that down. A lot of people had already thought of maybe a creator or singular point before so lore was wrote to shut it down.

but isnt it already clear that the more space it generates the more the rooms themself become primitive and unstable. after a certain point no matter what you put into the room it all probably turns to stone or something.

Plus they could throw it into a container and have some Bags Of Holding for future projects.

I wonder if there’s another copy of SCP-184 and that copy resides in “The Infinite IKEA” casting it to grow endlessly. Maybe the only actual native anomaly the Infinite IKEA has is to snatch people from other dimensions, and SCP-184 (or in this case SCP-184-A) causes it to grow. Good for thought

No, the backrooms in Kanes videos have a clear origin that is free of anyone shoehorning an SCP as the explanation for its existence. Now of the nerds that run the wiki want to incorporate the backrooms into the SCPVerse and make their own canon and have 184 as the cause of it that’s fine by me but it kinda turns me off whenever people try to make things that don’t necessarily belong to or are simply not a part of the universe part of it, like how that one dude wrote a whole file for slender man in the format you would see on the wiki and everything associated with slendy like the proxies and the symbols used, it’s good work but slender man will never be a part of the universe.

Just place it inside the Infinite Labyrinth (SCP-167) within a highly secured room, with a route that only the Foundation knows. Then secure the exterior of that anomaly more thoroughly and we are done. The more you leave it out here, the greater the chance that complex organisms will start to evolve in order to adapt to the expansions it does to the universe and the tougher our jobs will be. Wait, scp 3008 is infinite, has furniture and entities. Scp 184 also creates entities like the ones it was found in. No wonder why the food in scp 3008 keeps restocking randomly, it restocks itself from scp 184. Could scp 184 have been accidentally left in an Ikea store in a different dimension? Scp 1678, scp 184. I have a theory that scp 184 or at least a copy of it was used to make the city of Unlondon. Think about it, the Architect had a knack for making copies of rooms with certain flaws in them, like a room made entirely of glass including the furniture and books. While scp 1678 had more flaws the further you get from the underground city's Houses of Parliament. That can't be a coincidence.

Does the space remain permanently altered? Can you construct within it? If so, this might create an interesting method of containing an SCP like 682 permanently, enclosing it in a vat of acid in an ever expanding space.

@@Mo_Mauve While a unique idea, 184 can copy and build structures out of the same materials of the contained SCPs. For instances, put 173 in this facility and 184 will eventually create rooms, object and furniture made of concrete and rebar with the same anomalous powers as the original. In short, you would have dozens of furniture and other objects that will kill you if you look away.

The best story I’ve seen about this SCP is the one where they go on a FTL ship and the story basicly unfolds that the universe itself is basicly constantly under influence by this SCP since the SCP is “inside” the universe. Very interesting and unique SCP

@@Sanquinity lmao it is just a story. The whole point of the scp 001 series that they made wasn't to establish a definite scp-001, but to make it ambiguous and keep the mystery alive. They don't make multiple scp-001 videos just for this one to be the definitive one. As long as it aint a matter of fact in the main narative, wich it never was, it will stay as scp 184

3008 could also %1000 be a result of 184. Especially if it causes the spaces to grow exponentially. To anyone familiar with the concept of exponential growth an Ikea growing like that would become MASSIVE like bigger than the surface area of our whole planet in no time. There's no doors in Ikea's layouts other than single exits/entrances and the washrooms. There's only two problems with both the 3008 and backrooms theories a, it hasn't been shown to manifest animated entities like the ones that inhabit the backrooms or the various "staff " in 3008 and b, both locations are happened upon by people unintentionally. There's actually A LOT of parallels between the backrooms and 3008

3008 is ACTUALLY the backrooms as it has gateways to other universes, but this scp is only making a place bigger

@@captainsandwhich7469 explain why it coukdnt be ...? Also in Wich Canon does 3008 have gateways to many different universes? It obviously has points of entry in multiple parallel but ultimately pretty similar universes (similar enough that a trip to Ikea is commonplace in all of them,) but when people do find exits it's like somehow it knows where to put them back in thier own world (many examples) it would be interesting if two people who met inside 3008 but were from different places found an exit together , although I think that'd be against ,3008s rules u never hear of more than one person funding an exit at a time .

There are many interesting “lawless” areas around the world. I love learning about how people handle them. But none come close to how interesting the Kowloon walled city was. A hotbed of nonviolent crime. Violent crime was also increased, but somehow was never sincerely a problem. It is the best example of “organized chaos” that I can remember learning about. Such an interesting topic if anyone is interested in history and societal impact.

184 would be useful for containing growing SCPs like 094, the Immovable Black Sphere that could devour the planet eventually, or that anomalous self-replicating cake, (SCP 871) that multiplies indefinitely if its not eaten after a certain time.

Should technically be a Thaumiel class, since the Foundation definitely uses it for their storage facilities. If they don't...well the entire Foundation writing team needs to re-evaluate wtf they are doing. Also, since it is inside the buddha, it would expand that buddhas insides (not that it matters). A better way to store it would just be on the roof of any facility, because it wouldn't be inside anything (atmosphere isn't a wall).

Thaumiel means it contains or can contain other SCPs/Anomalies, or is really useful to the Foundation. This SCP does neither.

@@blakegunner5841 Because the writer didn't have them do exactly what I just said. They can make an inside space infinitely large, therefore able to house a ton of shit in a small space. VERY USEFUL.
