Yeah, as much as I like the bigger storylines, I can't help but prefer the old classic feel of the simpler ones. Guess I'm getting old. Glad you got the "Interview with a Vampire" reference, you and my dad are the only ones that have noticed without me pointing it out so far. All this said I would still recommend looking into any Kaktusverse suggestions you get, DjKaktus is a fantastic writer and I feel like his work needs more attention.

While i like the story it in a lot of parts is a pretty generic take on vampire and a far cry from some actual original takes like famous SF author Fred Saberhagan's own take on dracula that is pretty hilarious, or the low budget british movie "razor blade smile" which viewed nowdays feels like a parody of all the VTM edgelordyness and has one of the best payoff endings in a vampire work and i can highly recommend "hagan reviews" episode of it if you can't find the movie anywhere. There are also some of the modern Japanese takes(ones that are not very twilightish atleast) like the "Dance in the vampire bund" manga seriees which got a TV adaptation tho sadly only one season of it which imo is probably the best and fairly realistic take on " vampires come out into the open" scenario, seraph of the end which kinda took the more biblical spin from world of darkness and spun it its own way and one of the biggest sleepers which is "Shiki" a highly stylized depiction of a vampire takeover of a small rural community thats honestly one of the best takes on vampires as a horror genre.
