The best part of this SCP that wasn't covered was that the foundation used two drones to look for books as it was easier than sending a human to manually search them. The library liked them so much that it made two books from the drones and called them "Honorary Librarians." The library have them a soul :)

They introduced them back in the library, and the book reappeared, reading: "Marvin and Molly were returned to their true place of belonging, undoing the cruelty and callousness of their departure". The decision has been made to designate "Marvin" and "Molly" SCP-4001-2 collectively.

The library at Alexandria, even if it werent declining for decades before the fire, would have probably been of most use to future generations as historical record...maybe. historical accounts back then were often colored with bias to an extent that we would find laughable today. Think of the myths surrounding the borgias. While corrupt for sure, so many of the rumors surrounding them, especially the incestuous ones, are all but certainly complete horse shit.

Imagine being immortal and you could just sit there reading every book ever. Would be even better if somehow an anomaly updated the library to a single room with a single computer that has infinite storage. All you do it type a name and a date of birth as well as a location and it always finds the exact person you’re looking for (it would know exactly which date it was on at all times). Would be cool to be immortal sat at a computer reading every life story ever told of the 120billion humans who have ever existed.

It's a trust system. Obviously guns wouldn't do anything on their own, just like the pens, so senior SCP staff, or stationed guards/scientists would be the exception within reasonable boundaries. However the library is seemingly aware of everything, and probably just doesn't approve of guns.

Or rather destiny can't be changed by humans trying to change it. If you're rewritten into existence your destiny hasn't changed, just your current state, your destiny is still to die very soon which is what happens. I think the way they wrote someone into existence in the first place is very telling. The person came into existence, and then immediately died with the book saying this was how it was meant to be. He never existed, suddenly existed, but was fated to go back to non existence no matter what.

Seeing how much is left of your own book would be scary but being able to read back would be really cool so you could remember things you might not have before. Not to mention reading other people's from the past. I'd find it really cool to read the day to day lives of other people from different times.

It's slightly less OP than heaven's door. The thing is, the library knows when you're messing around, meaning all changes made will inevitably reverse. Heaven's door, meanwhile, can give powers to people, and take them away. However, Rohan prefers to use its power to protect himself, and to learn about people, rather than running amok changing reality.

There's an SCP-001 proposal called "A Sheaf Of Papers." Whatever you write on those pages immediately becomes true. This seems a lot like that. If a malicious enough group got in, they could become gods. Rewrite the lives of political leaders and influential people on history, and even write paragraph or two that would make them become gods.

I believe the correct description of Jonathan Ball's Proposal is that the papers are already written on by unknown entities (probably the authors of the SCPs) and reading them causes the SCPs that were written on them to exist.
