SCP 8098 is a Euclid anomaly also known as Normal Ammunition Is Boring.
SCP-8098 refers to a collection of ammunition boxes with the space to contain up to 18 .44 Magnum bullets per box. The bullets inside of
SCP 8098 (hereby referred to as SCP-8098-1) display anomalous properties when fired from a .44 Remington Magnum. If SCP-8098-1 is fired from any other kind of firearm, SCP-8098-1 will not display its anomalous properties.1
SCP8098 are small, cardboard ammunition boxes. All instances of SCP-8098 possess the space to contain up to 18 SCP-8098-1; however, most recovered SCP-8098 do not contain all 18 potential instances of SCP-8098-1. In addition, most recovered instances of SCP-8098 (before 03/08/2009) appear to be opened, implying use prior to Foundation discovery.
Designs of SCP-8098 are typically compared to that of cereal boxes, with the logo "Morphic Munitions"2 written in large bubble letters on the front and back sides. Each box has a "flavor", and is decorated in cartoonish artwork relating to said flavor. In addition, some instances of SCP-8098 will have slogans as part of its design, typically being "Try To Collect Them All!", and "So Many Different Flavors To Collect!"

I'm surprised that they didn't try firing the bullets to potentially restore some of the things that had disappeared. Or try getting rid of the bullets by shooting the less harmful ones. I mean, they tried destroying a strawberry bullet, so why not just shoot them at a wall? Fill up some coffee mugs, shoot the electricity into a lightning rod, y'know, getting rid of them in the way that is obviously intended and proven relatively safe? Obviously the black hole ones are a no go, but still...

I can see this going a few ways. The file never made it clear if flavor boxes ever refilled or not, in addition its hard to tell if when items disappear if they made a single bullet or a box. Another thing to consider is that disposing of the items in "a obviously intended fashion" could give the entity the wrong idea that they want more made, which the fact that it can grab other SCP's into bullets could cause HUGE problems, especially if one of the enemies of the foundation gets their hands on it. (just imagine the Chaos Group sneaking in and grabbing a bunch of the SCP type flavors and the Entity realizing they want that Type and making more of them) Imagine if 682 happened to get ammo'd. Now in theory his adaptation ability would either make him immune to being ammo'd or could manifest as something like a spectral Magnum appearing to fire him back out to release him. Or he could generate as a full box and now you could be dealing with the risk of 12-200 682's being able to be fired into the world. Going back to the More made idea. Lets say the Entity comes to the Conclusion that they Really Like a few specific flavors, and starts Ammo'ing TONS of that, Black Outs for miles, Strawberry Fields gone Barren right before Harvest, or packages of Strawberries in Stores just suddenly being empty, if the Foundation decided to shoot the strawberry ones into a vat to make strawberry jam (why waste it on a wall, you know?), the entity might start making a Strawberry Jam variant. Its an interesting Item and It does also sadden me to think about the Grief of the Entity, but all things considered this might have been the "safest" outcome.

Damn, that ending :( Now I need someone to write a tale where the foundation finds a way to contact and/or communicate with the entity that produced the anomalous ammunition and then they form an alliance or something where the Foundation provides this enity with objects to transform and in return the scp transforms only the items that the Foundation wants and not random objects. I mean, being able to make bullets out of anything seems like a pretty good addition to the Foundation's arsenal. Or even in somecases as a containment measure (though I doubt they would use it in this way because in the end they do not fully understand where things go after being transformed, and thus containing anomalies like this could lead to containment breaches or worse).

I could see them using the alliance to turn the dangerous SCPs like 682, 106, 049 etc. into bullets because then they'd easily be stowed away in a lockbox unable to hurt anyone anymore.

@@auraguardianemerald6667 While i can see that, I would HIGHLY Suggest not doing 682, his stupid godlike Mary Sue adaption ability makes him WAY to dangerous to be an ammo. Depending on what's canon and what's not, he has rewritten himself after being Deleted from Existence In theory his adaptation ability could just make him immune to being ammo'd or could manifest as something like a spectral Magnum appearing to fire him back out to release him. Or he could generate as a full box and now you could be dealing with the risk of 12-200 682's being able to be fired into the world. What if 682 developed the ability to turn other things into the Ammo? Or what if the enemies of the Foundation got their hands on the Ammos? Even less enemy but more just Rival, the GOC. You know, the ones who aim to Destroy all anomalies. Remember the Chair? 1609 I think it was?

No, that can kill someone if the shooter isn't in a padded cell. The firing target might wound the human ammunition or break a bone.

44 magnum is a type of cartridge, not a model of pistol...so if the rounds are 44 magnum, they would fire out of any pistol chambered in 44 magnum. If the rounds are a variety of calibers, then only the ones that are 44 magnum will work in a pistol chambered in 44 magnum. I guess what I'm trying to say is "and these anomalous effects only took place when fired out of a 44 magnum" really doesn't make any sense.

This is the same universe where the MGM versions of famous monster characters (Frankenstein, Dracula, etc) are considered Euclid class anomalies, there is an anomalous copy of "Friends" where it goes on beyond the number of seasons of the real show driving one of the main characters of that show insane, Charlie Chaplin is a Neutralized anomaly related to Alagadda, etc. Dirty Harry being in the SCP universe is less than surprising, heck it is tame compared to the rest of the entries...

2 main questions rose from this: 1) Can SCP-8098 morph other SCP's into bullets? Like SCP-096, that'd be AMAZING, and truly give the foundation some insane containment measures 2) They had "anger bullets", so did SCP-8098 "get anger" from someone? Did it just make that person calm down?

Dr. Jay from Site-51 here; I have sent a petition to the O5 council to allow a research team to attempt contact with the entity responsible for SCP-8098; our stated goals being to learn more about said entity and learn what sort of process is used to make instances of 8098. With over 100 researchers on board, we are hopeful that the O5 council will approve of the suggested test. We added that alot of us are concerned for the entity's wellbeing, and are sure that we don't want our universe to be turned into its own munition out of loneliness.
