I want to love to build a turbo bike some time... Problem is get those small turbos here in South Africa, companies don't sell the cheap Chinese ones and buying one from eBay or so isn't that expensive but with shipping, import tax and courier it costs nearly 3 times as much😂

Same here in sweden, too expensive shipping fees and taxes! Cheers man, I've been in south africa. Beautiful country 👍🏼

I love this bike build, would you mind telling me how you made a custom triple tree and swing arm? I want to mimic this build with a pocket bike that i have.

Glad you like it! It's hard for me to explain with words how i made the triple clamp but i made a similar one for my Ratbike. Check that video out (part 2). Dm me on insta @johnaaman and i can make a drawing of the swingarm

The idea with the T fitting on the Oil drain plug is awesome!! But do you think it will work good because its not ventillated? I had the problem that my oil wouldnt drain propperly because the catch can was sealed air tight ..

@John_Makes 3 года назад
Sorry i missed this comment until just now. It seems to work just fine! I had the oil stick cap removed when priming the oilsystem the first time and i realized it was a self-bleeding system! I have thought of drilling a hole in the plastic oil dipstick cap and mount a crankcase filter on it. I think that could help keeping the oil a bit cooler and ventilated

Bad solution, the return oil has to return to crankcase ABOVE oil level inside the crank, otherwise you have to use a scavenge pump to prevent the turbo to “overfill” and blow out oil in to exhaust or compressor side

Amazing build i like every part of it but i wonder why you choose a blow thru instead of drow thru

I want to turbo a repurposed 125cc engine myself and i havent decided yet on what to do so would like to hear your opinion on that
@John_Makes
@John_Makes 3 года назад
Thanks man! I basically went for drawthrough because it is easier. If you want blowthru you either need electric fuel injection or a special carb rebuild to handle boost. The boost going thru the carb will otherwise spit fuel everywhere and empty the float bowl
@John_Makes
@John_Makes 3 года назад
@@arielbar_mocha8861 mount the carb just before the turbo and you will be fine. Just be sure to make everything air tight
@ailokemi92
@ailokemi92 3 года назад
@@John_Makes not true, you don’t need a “special” carb… quit spreading false information… what you need to to is to pressurize the bowl on the carb! Easily done by just strech hose to the overflow wents on the carb… on low boost pressures you dont need a electric fuel pump, just pressurize the fuel tank with boost, this is usually enough on boost up to 7 psi, considering that you did go for draw trough setup, that you did not gonna boost more then 7 psi anyway, boost levels above that will need electric fuel pump anyway to deliver stable amount of fuel
@John_Makes

@@ailokemi92 sorry you are right about the carb, I did not know that at the time.

Can you show how you wired the oil pump

I have it driven by a rc-car battery since i dont have a charging system on the bike. Only 1 switch under the saddle
@barberaTP

Nice project!! Two questions From where did you get the 12v oil-pump that you use? Have you seal and pressurize the carb in order to prevent fuel leaking and bad fuel supply? Or the carb runs stocks?
@barberaTP
@barberaTP 3 года назад
Disconsider my second question. Realise that your system is a drawn to instead blow through.

Thanks! The 12 oil pump was from ebay, england I believe 👍🏼

well then i have a wondering , because of your drawn-thru - are you not worried of the fuel and air going in the turbo that it can make a heat ” risk and cause explosion 💥? :) i just courious
