So crazy long! I’m going to need to rethink this. Here is my process for the next set of pages, as well as a verbal list of which s rap buster items are included on each page. Thank you for watching and happy creating.
Oh Cori, I could watch you create for hours on end now that I’ve found your channel. I’m amazed at how many ideas and processes that you willingly share with us. Thank you for taking your precious time to share with us.
I can’t believe what all you’ve shared with us. I’ve made several junk journals before but feel like you’re sitting right beside me. You’ve answered so many questions I have had in my mind. It would be fun to do a flip through and see how others used your techniques. I hope this becomes more natural with time.
I have finished my first journal (first one that I will keep) following your instructions. Thank you so much. I loved the process of attaching the signatures.
Cori you are such a great teacher!!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas with those of us who are novices when it comes to creating with scarps. Blessings
I can’t even express how much I love these videos and the finished product of them. U inspired me to do an idea book. So much fun. I love your vintage grunge style. Gorgeous Cori
Hi Cori, I’m amazed at your work and can and have watched a few of your videos multiple times! You have so much content to take in that a newbie can gain vast ideas in no time! I’ve got to get busy! Thank you for taking the time to share your love for paper crafting, it’s really amazing! Love your style!!!
It doesn't matter how long you take. I so enjoy watching and learning from you. I go from one video to another and I've watched a few of them a couple of times. I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased some Tim Holtz items so that I can' make idea books like yours. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you so much Cori, I really really enjoyed watching you create these amazing and awesome flips flaps and folds. I really really love ❤️ all of the items you’ve made. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
if I can watch Tim for 3 hours, I can watch you for an hour plus! great way to see all the detail you put onto your pages. love it. thanks as always for sharing.
Cori...Thank you for all the work you put into sharing your ideas and beautiful journals with all of us! I also love the long videos and your attention to detail 💜 You really are an amazing teacher. I wish I had teachers like you when I was in school. I can only count a handful of teachers ( yep...only 5) that impacted my life and I will always cherish their wisdom. 💜
Dear cori, I am a new subscriber who has watched you for days, consumed with your generous teachings. I just wanted to say thank you. Your talents are many and your kind sharing heart evident. I appreciate everything you gift us in your excellent, organized lessons. Thank you! ❤️
Hello and welcome Pam! I'm happy to hear t hat you've found the videos useful and I hope you're encouraged to try new and different things to find a style that works for you. Happy creating!
So useful thankyou. I've made diagrams for each page to remind me what you did! I absolutely love your tiny 007 booklet, your eye for detail is what makes such a difference for me, I am a real details person! Love the ribbon crimps. Off to order some!
I love when you do the process as you go along that way everybody that is kind of new can do it right with you that's the fun part and it gives a feel that you're right there doing it with us all. Instead of everything pre-assembled and then just go ahead and throw it in the book. Then most of us are like what?! So thank you thank you so much for doing the process as you go.
I so enjoy watching your videos! You are clear, conversational, instructive and genuine. I appreciate that you plan what you are showing us instead of free-form crafting. I've been making mini albums and junk journals for several years and I have learned so many great techniques from you! Thank you, Cori!
My pleasure and thank you for the kind comments. I know how precious time to create is, so I try to have everything ready to go when I begin to share. Happy creating to you!
What a heroic effort. I should tell you that we don't really need this, but I certainly do. I am keeping up, but it takes me much longer to do everything. I am very pleased with the book so far. Thank you for doing this!
Your journals and projects are soooo beautiful and the amount of work that goes into them is amazing. You are so talented and appreciated. You have really inspired me to try some of your wonderful pockets, flaps and flips!!
I have similar envelope templates from my scrapbooking days some 25 years ago! Your videos are never too long for me... I love the details and I appreciate your inspiration!
Cori, you are terrific. I’ve been making journals for years, and have followed many different artists. But you are innovative, an excellent teacher, clear and simplified for easy understanding. While most of the others are more repetitive, you share a new slant on things. Thank you so much! I’ll be following YOU From now on.
Thank you Susan, what a lovely comment. I'm a huge Tim Holtz fan and his well-known comment, You Do You, always inspires me to do my own thing. I get so much inspiration from the creativity of others that I try to give back a bit and hopefully inspire others.
Lovely layouts! Wishing I'd waited to put them in my book 🤦😄. But I can still use these in my albums and stuff. Loads of brilliant tips! Squeaky chairs and sewing machines are just fine with me 😄 don't you worry about it. Also long videos are not a problem 😁 Tfs 💖
So much that you are sharing! Thank you for that ♥️ Crafting is how I enjoy my summers so I’ve been busy creating videos also. But they take forever to make. So I know how much time you’re putting into all the sharing! See you soon ( when you make another video)! Not being creepy 😂
@@GrungeGranny ...If you haven't seen Gayle Agostinelli you should check out her videos too. I can believe I forgot to mention Gayle! You will notice these sweet ladies mentioning eachother in their videos a lot. I love how they inspire eachother and share their knowledge with all of us💜
Ok, I didn’t know I was old until you dated those templates! I, too, bought those - and, still have and use them. I was thinking they came from Judi-kin’s? Idk. Anyway, tfs, and your work is lovely.
Good morning Cori, I love your art style , organization and your teaching style . I would love to buy one of your books. What is your Etsy shop name? Thank you for all you do to help create inspiration.
Thank you Jeannette. I will list the two books after the last video in this series. My shop is etsy.com/shop/CreatingWithScraps. Thank you for your interest 😊
If you add a wee bit of water to your Art Glitter Glue you will have wiggle room. I honestly think Reptile Glue is Art Glitter Glue with water added to it. I wish you would allow closed captions. Also wish you would add links for the stores where you purchase your stencils, and other items from.
I thought I had added close captions. I will check the videos and see if I can include them after the fact. So many of my products are older and no longer made that I can’t share where I purchased them. Probably 95% of my newer things are from Amazon.
It’s interesting to see how you changed up some of the page elements to get a different look. Do you coffee dye your Braille papers or are some naturally cream colored? I would love to know how you get your coffee dyed copy paper to look so uniform in color and so flat. I know a lot of crafters like all the stains and splotches but I’m not a fan. The look of your coffee dyed paper is awesome.
Oh I love these pages - I’m not sure I’ll live long enough to use all of your creative ideas. You get more finished in a day than I can accomplish in a month. By the way - where do you get your Braille paper?
Thank you Kate and please know, I'm not at all speedy! I used a few older Braille books that I had purchased for a sight impaired student, but I bought them through Seedlings.
I was wondering about that little dandelion stamp that you have on that glass block now is that all together as one piece.? Or is that a clear rubber stamp on a glass stamp holder. Oh and I also finally found the markers that you're using I had to pause and rewind pause and rewind. LOL to try to see the name on it. I thought maybe it would be nice that down in the area where you want to put a list of things that you're doing but also like a list of things that you have and where you've gotten them from would be very helpful to the crafters like me, lol that want to know what is it that you're using and what's the product name and where did you get it.. so if that is a little dandelion stamp where did you get it? And where did you get that type of little glass stamp holder?
Hi Cindy and thank you for the interest and questions. Most of the time I use older products that I've had in my stash for (many) years. That clear cling stamp came in a stamping magazine.... maybe 10 or so years ago? It was their free-with-purchase-of-the-magazine prize. It could have started life as a Technique Tuesday stamp, but no guarantees. The acrylic stamping block is of similar vintage. I got it a lot of years ago from Impress Rubber Stamp in Renton, WA.... but it's just a generic acrylic stamp block. There in lies the reason I don't often list my products and where I've purchased them. Most of the time they are old things and even more often, I have no idea where they originated. BUT, my goal is to ALWAYS offer a technique or concept that can be slightly altered to use the things YOU have on hand. Any clear flower stamp would work, as would any marker (the set I use/grab is Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. They are made by Kuretake, just private labeled for Zig. I bought this set about 4-5 years ago on Amazon) in whatever brand you have. I know that's not hugely helpful, but that is how I create. I love all the new things, but I also try to use what I have in my stash.
I just got the zig flex brush tips in today. I tried my arteza watercolor brushes but they didn't quite do the job I'm hoping these have a little more of intense color.
Hello, having so much fun doing all these fun, fun, techniques. On page 9 or 10 ur using a die cut. Could you tell us where you purchased it at or if you remember the name of it. Thanks.
Oops and also of the markers I couldn't find the number 210 that you're using and not sure if that's what it is but are you using an olive green and like an orange yellow? Because I'm getting just the beginner set like the 24 I wasn't sure what number that you have and if the colors that you have are even in the 24 set or not of those markers that you're using. I'll stop here now I know I know lots of questions. Lol.
Questions are good! I have the 80 piece Zig set and to be honest, I just grab some f the green markers and decide which works best with the paper I'm using. I couldn't tell you which number and colors I use most often (unless they are still on my desk!). I just grab and go.
That mini file folder is adorable! You mentioned a punch? Or did you use your envelope punchboard? I'm new to your channel so may have missed you showing us how to make them........🤔
I shared the McGill punch I use for the file folder today. I’ve had a few people ask about them so I’ll put some punched items in my Etsy shop next week. That way if you can’t find the punch, at least you can access some of the punched pieces 😊
Sure! It is an older McGill punch and I found it at a thrift store. Possibly Ebay would have something similar as I believe a few different companies make it.
Thank you! I have some scrapbuster books in the works and I'm determined to get them completed and ready for new homes sooner rather than later. So, yes, I do sell them 😊
I generally use two sizes of the Basic Grey magnets, The packets don't list their size on the packaging (which is nutso!) but they are about 5/8" and about 3/8".
My Braille paper was pulled from a few books I had for a seeing impaired student, many years ago. Seedlings is a company that sells Braille books. I don't know what their requirements are, but I'd consider beginning there.
Would you ever be willing to sell one of your idea journals? I have a hard time learning from watching, and have better luck when it’s in front of me! Thank you ❤❤❤
Oh Alyson, I've had 6 or 7 in the works for wayyyyyyyyyyy too long now. A short term goal for the summer is to finish them up and give them new homes . I will keep you posted!
No need to apologize for the length of your video. When the content is good, the people who watch don’t notice the time. I love your creativity and would love to have one of your idea books because they are works of art.
It is a sturdy white glue that is a bit thinner and has a bit longer drying time than Art Glitter Glue. I got mine on Amazon, based on a viewer's recommendation, and I am very pleased with it.
Watching your videos is mesmerizing, entertaining, and relaxing! I think I can do this and have a specific theme. I have a hard time putting that much effort into something that is just pretty😄 2 questions Where else can I see demo of the Tracy 2 side? Sewing on paper sounds fun but what does that do to your sewing machine? I have a single machine and don’t want to put it in jeopardy by sewing for my journal.
Hi and thank you. Tracie Fox Creative is a YT channel and Tracie is incredible! If you search her playlist, she has many excellent tutorials. I've been using my machines for .... 25? or so years on both paper and fabric and I have never had a problem. Of course, each machine is slightly different, but I've used several machines and so (sew?) far they have all worked well. Granted, I don't use the mini, for-paper-only machines, but any designed for general use has been solid.
Hello, I follow your chanel from France, ans I don’t understand everything you tell. Si I’d like to know what us thé thing you use to create the figures (minute 25 of your video) . I home m’y english us clear enough for you or your followers to ask my question. 1000 thanks for the answer 🥰👍🌹
Bonjour Pat et bienvenue ! J'ai utilisé des pochoirs en plastique et de l'encre de détresse et un pinceau de mélange pour ajouter les images lumineuses au papier. J'espère que c'est ce que vous demandiez. Happy creating!
Did anybody notice Cori said (right above the comments) she was going to include a verbal list of items included on each page? But then there are no lists or links or any further information at all to read.
As I go through and share how I make each page I give a verbal list of which scrap buster items are used. There is a list of the different scrap buster items made and which video they are made in and I will include, as I said I would, on the last video, an items list for each page for each of the three books in the drop down box. It wouldn't make any sense to list them before they are shown.
@@CoriDahmen Cori, I apologize for misunderstanding what you had said. I appreciate your skills and vision for your craft and am delighted with your scrap buster collection of posts! I look forward with much happy anticipation to viewing more videos of your work.
This is all really cool, but I'm struggling to understand what people do with these books when they finish putting them together. I'm seeing places to journal, but then also a bunch of pockets filled with tags and ephemera. In my mind, these are already "full". Maybe it's just that I've never seen someone using a junk journal, I just see people making them.
Hello Lisa and yes, I'm among the guilty who don't show how they're used as journals. Speaking only for myself, I always include lots of booklets and writing space. The tags and bits and pieces are designed to be used on those book and flip pages, to enhance the written parts. Each person designs theirs a bit differently, but that is how I fashion mine.
