I'm still alive! To celebrate feeling well again I started a PC Scrap Marathon! 100 PC's needed to go so that was my first up challenge, to clear the driveway to make way for more scrap. Keep scrapping & Have fun!
I rebuild PC's in this condition and sell them to family's who can't afford newer machines. it's almost painful to watch this but I understand your motives.
He got them for free and you can too , by doing the same thing, find them, pick them up.. don't just drive past. do what you want with the ones you collect. no biggie if a few get scrapped.
He doesn’t seem to really know what he’s doing. He’s just pulling them apart and selling the parts individually on eBay. Some of the older stuff he got is actually worth more because it’s hard to find and some people like to build windows 95 or 98 for retro gaming. He clearly doesn’t care about that he’s just trying to make money
@@WhosThisPersonNotMe That would be a hard thing to educate yourself on if you aren't genuinely interested. The catalog of hardware that might be valuable to collectors would be very long. It might not even be worth the time investment to learn.

I had appliances I put to the street.. BOTH had $60-$70 dollar 240W power cords in perfect condition. Rather than take the time to disconnect them from the appliances they CUT them off and traded selling them for $50 dollars each to maybe $8.00 worth of copper for both. Probably less.
Lots of neg comments... "Why scrap when you can repair and resell" - its about VOLUME. This guy has no shortage of kit to scrap... Have you ever tried to sell old computer kit on eBay? Its a massive time hole... I take a bit more out - stack the cd om drives But, I strip 10 at a time maybe, not 100...
I used to flip computers and laptops as a sideline and honestly it was very easy and not that time consuming. I would purchase bulk Dell optiplex's and various educational and workstations. Sometimes just hitting deals on ebay. I would dust them up and stack like 5 on my bench then start a fresh windows install on all of them, one after the other. All and all I would probably spend about 10 minutes per computer. Now, I get the point of volume but some of these computers were worth WAY more than scrap value. He essentially turned 150$ computers into 15$ computers...
Most of these computers parts would have sold for more than they are worth scrap. Most of them still have life in them. I saw quite a few Business PC's you can sell to places like schools that need computers for more than you would get worth in scrap. It seems such a waste to scrap these systems. Some places really need old computers that you can still just about run a modern OS on like a school with a "low" budget like my school in the UK. The government is constantly cutting schools budgets so my school i having to get older computers like most of these that are just a bit faster and more capable of running things like their current ones. Would be nice to see you sell them on as working PC's to places instead of wasting them for scrap money.
i als othink it is ahrd to watch some of the machines get scraped, but people in the comments fail to think about the knowledge as to what to save or what not to save. and the time it takes to test the machines, yes one could have a list of models to keep for testing etc. but when making a living, yyou just need to turnover as much as possible as fast as possible is my best guess
@@ephraimt1 nope im not tho i can see some simularities at my channel but im not trying to copy Ben at all ours channels are both about scrapping mostly so there is no way to not spot similar stuff maybe because i watch him from years already and for sure get some inspiration from him anyway i like Ben and not think im new Ben i had a lot to learn to get his level👍👍👍
I'm sorry to hear about your recent health problems. Even though we've seen you scrap out most of this stuff before, it's always entertaining to just hear you talk about stuff. Hopefully you'll feel good again soon and best regards from Germany! :)
You would probably get more for the cases if you stripped off the plastic. Here in New Zealand the scrap metal merchants pay a lot less if the steel has plastic on it.

I had a parasite that I picked up in Colorado forty years ago. It was nasty. The Docs finally figured it out and gave me some heavy duty medicine. It made my body really sensitive to bad food. I get the runs real quick (usually within 30-40 mins), but 30 mins later I'm fine. The body never really forgets it. I'm with you on this. Get better. By the way, I got it from bad water.

was getting worried about you mate! thought you'd had an accident or something (i think "or something" sums it up!) but you bounced back 😊 maybe the thought you would be missed helped you get back! very well done on getting shot of those pc's! 😊 did you ever get shot of those masses of dvr recorders you had next to the garage? i recall the piles were near shoulder high! maybe that could be a multi part (say 25 to 50 a time) get shot of challenge? like a pile a time or something! imagine all that space you could regain! dont overdo it tho, dont want you burning out!!!
A question like I have done this work for a while in 2009 and sorted all the parts and then it got resold per container in Netherlands and my question is how I am gonna get 100 computers in this condition if I wanna start recycling and rebuilding the good pc's myself? I sometimes get lucky when a company get cleaned and walk by I managed to pick up a few but just curious this video get my thinking again as I have the room to do this and can get workers as well.
