I started scrapping a few weeks ago and I find that I mostly enjoy the e waste scrapping. I have a few contacts for e waste and I hope to expand that some soon. Being semi retired I find I get bored easily so this is a help and a chalange. Keep the videos coming I learn something new with each video I watch.

In case you are interested, from my recent trip to the scrap yard in Edinburgh: Steel - £140 ton, Stainless £600 ton, batteries - £500 ton, Cable - £1100 ton and Rolled Aluminium - £500 ton.

FYI there is a scrapper in the USA who uses a cell phone application called map my ride. Using the app he can see where he has been and not repeat his route. It’s actually for bicyclists to map their route but, he uses it to scrap more efficiently. The app is from Under Armor sportswear. Hope it helps.

Hey Ben, you might want to flip the ramps over so that the wheels will not go over the sides and bend the flap the opposite way so that it sits flat on the back of the van.

I just had a massive council clean up day at my house is western Sydney and had easily 15 scrapers take stuff and I scored in a pile that had a oto bin full of cables for my dad that scraps

Fill the tube tires with spray foam and it will never run flat again. Bit messy though that expanding foam, if it goes where you don't want it.

Its always entertaining Ben. Would like to see your time being spent takingr things apart and processing even without talking. Its always interesting Even cutting cables and being visited by your chickens. I had 25 chickens and they were always on my table visiting. Maybe just turn on camera and let it run.

RAMP TIP If you flip the ramps over it acts as a Chanel and the tub wheels won’t fall off, also if you do this there is no 2 inch step at the beginning😎

this was a great video! i like how it spanned multiple days and watching you do drop offs at the scrap yards was great. i cant wait to see you reclaim your shed. i wish we could see you break down more ewaste even if its just copper wire, some time lapse might make it more interesting.

Great video Ben, i thought you scarp out the boards for gold. i would like to see some of you doing that , scarping out the stuff. i would not sell my pc's , i would scarp them out. and make more money . here in the USA you can send the board's to board sort, they buy them, cell phones also. if i live across the pond, or i would love to help you i love doing that kind of stuff. love the video it was different. You getting behind is why I suggested contacting the local electronics trade school, college or even a family owned electronics biz that had a son or daughter that needed to learn all aspects of the trade including the recycle/ewaste end and they could apprentice with you 2-3 days a week 2-4 hours a day helping you. The position would be unpaid unless you wanted to give them a modest stipend as an added incentive.

I think it's going to be more hassle for Ben to learn and try to adhere to the labour laws than to get a profit of somebody working for him even for free, never mind the responsibility and trust issues. I don't think your plan is feasible at all.

Have you tough about installing a small winch in you MB van, behind the seats to help getting this tubs on board ?. I woul try to flip the ramps so they will guide the tub wells also.
