Thank you Susie for showing a great way to use the scraps up. I was unwell last year and totally lost my mojo, but your scrap series has given me a boost to start making my cards again. I thank you so much. 😊
Hi Helen - I hope you are feeling much better these days. I understand about when your mojo takes a vacation! Sometimes I find it helpful to look at some cardmaking magazines and just pick one I like to use as an example. The first card is always the hardest when you are coming back into the hobby. But your creative spirit is still there just waiting to wake up again. Be fearless!!
You never fail to disappoint! I'm catching up gradually on all your videos and I'm beginning to run out of words to express how much I'm enjoying your channel. These may be Christmas cards, but the technique is great all year round! Now if only I could stop watching long enough to start creating! LOL
Hi Julia. Congrats on your 1 year anniversary with RU-vid. I didn't find your channel right away but I have gone back and watched most of your videos. Thanks so much for doing the scrap series. I have benefited a lot from these videos and from your wonderful sense of humour. As expected, I loved your cards today as well. Thanks so much. Please take care of yourself after your surgery and I will eagerly await your return when you are able. 😊❤🇨🇦
I am thrilled you found My Channel and have benefited from the content. I am working on a little different series for Spring - it's just perculating in my brain for now. So, stay tuned!
My favourite cards were the tree one and the one with the Christmas tree tag on it. They were all lovely though. I really enjoy your videos, thy inspire me. I am off to try my hand at embellishments after seeing your Christmas tree tag. 🎄 Thank you again. 🙂
Hi Tina and Welcome to My Channel! That tag was easy with the Dollar Tree tree. But you could just as easily use a stamped image or die cut! Have fun!!
Hello Julia. You have achieved so much in one short year of being on RU-vid! Well done!! It is our pleasure to watch your content and I always get excited when you have a new upload. I save all sorts of card that has white to strengthen up paper that is a bit thin and it really is so helpful and you cannot tell once it is glued down. My favourite is the mini slimline as I really do like slimline cards and the little tag you made for it packs a punch. They are all lovely and roadworthy cards as you say. 😊
I like all of the cards you made, but the rest of the cards make the one you don't care for look more plain. Yet it's got some nice gold going for it. I hope that doesn't make you feel bad because that plainer card is pretty, as well. I really got a lot out of how you pieced the deer card, using the strip in the middle so you can't tell it was pieced. I need to remember that trick. 🥰 Thank you so much for all of your tips for using scraps! I love the scrap series of cards and never even thought of trying to make pretty cards out of scraps. I love the slimline card the most, I think because of the glam strips you put on it dressed it up so much! ❤
Happy Anniversary! I found your channel about two weeks ago and I have to say, I've been inspired. I have reluctantly thrown out so many scraps in the past but you have given so many ideas to use them up. I look forward to watching all your videos. Good luck with your surgery and best wishes from Canada.
Hey Xstitch! My aunt makes beautiful xstitch and I have always admired the artform. Welcome to My Channel and I hope you'll get some good ideas to use in your cardmaking. In the past I struggled to use scraps until I changed my way of storing them. Keeping them with the "Parent" pack changed all that. Now, I have coordinating paper to pull and use along with scraps. And my studio rule is Use Scraps First. It has become a mantra. Did you happen to see this video? You might find it helpful - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LlwtBfZEQyM.html
@@SeniorSusieStamps I loved cross stitching but my eyes are not what they used to be. I turned to cardmaking instead and find it's like therapy. I'm getting through your videos one by one.
Thanks Kathleen - Can you believe it has been a year? That size is perfect for using up scraps. You know how some of them are just a smidge too small for 1st layer 4 x 5.25? I rarely have that problem with this size.
I love these. I have lots of Christmas papers scraps but have finished making my cards for this year. I will watch for after Christmas sales to see if I can find some shiny papers like this for next year. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful cards, as usual.
Glad you like them! I just pulled the last 2 of those cards yesterday for donation to the local nursing home. I like them much better this year than I did last...go figure that!!
Happy RU-vid Anniversary!!!!! What a wonderful accomplishment. And I am sad to see the scrap series come to an end. I'm sure something even more wonderful is coming once you're all healed. I will miss you very much. Happy Thanksgiving!
New subscriber here. It was interesting to hear you celebrating 1700 subscribers at one year. Now it looks like you may hit 5000 by 2 years. Congratulations. I have watched a few of your videos now and enjoyed them very much. Here's to you heading toward at least 10,000 by year 3.
Hi Lion - We may very well get to 5,000 soon! Thank you and Welcome to My Channel! There is a lot of good content already on the channel if you would like to backwatch. And, I try to put out a new video on Sunday afternoons (USA time), So Come Back Soon!!
YAY Julia... congratulations for reaching your first anniversary with your RU-vid channel. 🎈✨🎉✨🎈 You have certainly come a long way during that time, and it is wonderful that more and more people are finding your channel. There is one thing I love about your videos is that they are very practical, and even if we don't have the same coloured cardstock or even use the card measurements as you, we can still create lovely, layered cards using up out scrap pieces of cardstock. You always seem to bring sunshine to my day even when I am having a bad day so thank you for that Julia. 💖 So how many Christmas cards did you make this year? Hopefully you haven't found any more hidden away in a corner of your craft studio...LOL!!! I loved the last card, and it really fitted the slimline card base. The other card I particularly like was the second card that you made... very simple, but lovely. For the card that you didn't like as much you could always add a lovely gold bow near the sentiment?????!! I continue to pray for you Julia as your surgery date approaches. We will miss you, but you need time to recover completely so please take all the time that you need... we will all be here on your return. God's blessings, and sending you lots of prayers, love and hugs from your Aussie friend, Gloria 🥰💐🍒🍎💚❤💚
G'Day Gloria - I pray your bad days are few!! But, that's why I make cards and do RU-vid videos. I believe in the Circle of Love we all can share out into the world through our craft and the love of it. How wonderful it is to have followers from all over the world, that enjoy the things I make! Please know you are a Blessing to Me and I appreciate your prayers and concerns! Hugs back atcha! Julia
G'Day Margaret! Another Aussie follower - I am so sorry to hear about all the horrible flooding your country is going through now. Stay safe! And Thank you!!
Hi Sally - Funny you ask I just got a new supply in yesterday. I use an Avery sticker for the back of my donation cards. Then I take the release paper and pull off strips of 1 inch foam tape. You can then custom cut without any of the gunk getting on your scissors. Plus it is A LOT less expensive!!!
