I like to think that a six-coupled freight locomotive with inside cylinders was easier to remember, with the front bogie providing for a bit of uniqueness. Bear in mind that there were only four classes of inside-cylinder Moguls, not counting those with three cylinders. These four classes were the Caledonian Railway 34 Class, the Glasgow & South Western Railway 403 Class, the GWR Kruger Class, and the GWR Aberdare Class. Notice how the GWR had inside-cylinder Moguls, and they were the only English railway to use inside-cylinder 2-6-0s.
