Cut the compressors until it is no longer worth the time. At some cost vs. benefit point, you will be able to make more doing something else than you would to cut those apart. You also didn’t calculate the time and expense to clean up all that oil, lol. Thanks again for sharing.

Cut just below the weld, nearer the top. For the ones that dont just slide out, a cut up one side to release the grip of the case. Notice how the blade digs in and kicks back? You're holding the grinder wrong and pushing it against the direction of the wheel which wears heavily on the disc. Looks as if it's your first attempt so I'm not critisizing you- keep at it and you'll get faster and familiar with the different internal layouts. I'd have that open with less than a single 4" 1mm thick disc. The compressor motors at leadt are faster to pull the copper out of because the oil kept it nicely lubed. Battery tools suck on these jobs- use a corded grinder!

@@bigcountryscrapper6885 I'm no expert , just a hoppy scrapper. I lay them on the side and cut them open going around the top like you do. But cutting a bit higher gets you past the winding and lets you cut into open space. Then one cut down the side ( can usually see an open spot or slot looking down inside ) mark that on the outside and you will again cutting into open space. One cut down to close to the bottom is usually enough . Can take a chisel into the side cut near the bottom to help spread it a little. That is usually enough to loosen up the winding cluster but it may need a bit of forcing it out by inserting the chisel in the cut and tapping the winding out . But I've seen various types of compressors and they are not all the same so it does take different methods but this seems to be a standard way to try first. Looks like you got some good scrap there . I don't take it too serious.
