Scrapping Golf Clubs For Cast Aluminium. I end up scraping my dirty cast aluminium + steel golf clubs. This is my way to strip them clean. cool , thank you . I passed up a couple sets of clubs in the scrap pile at the dump now for weeks... going to the dump to snoop again today (christmas eve) they will be in the back of my truck when I come home today 😉

You can put a torch to it. Club shafts are often changed on clubs. So a bit of heat and it should come free. If you remove the grips, do it later because they'll help to remove the shaft. Take a look for youtube videos on replacing golf club shafts and grips.

Found the end of a putter metal detecting. Now I know which scrap bin to put it in. Thanks for that! Are all of them cast alum. or are some different. I thought it might be diecast when I dug it.

It is cast & some are steel too

The resell value is probably better and if got some made of tungsten

Given the relative ease with which the heads come off, do they ever fly off on their own while in use?

I have seen them get loose but not sure about that?

if the handle breaks off-...drill out the steel while its in the vise and you have clean alum.

nice work. 15 sec with a torch and the epoxy will loosen and the shaft comes right out.

I calculated the density of the golf club heads I had and it came out to 2.63 oz per cubic inch, which would make it die cast aluminum. Also a chemical test indicates die cast also.
