Good Morning Gayle! Happy Scrappy Saturday! Eclectic journals? Yay! A few months ago I decided to make two eclectic journals because I had quite a few premade ephemera sitting in my “done” ephemera box for awhile. The fact that I finally used ephemera pieces I had made months and months ago felt like an accomplished and now those “looked over” pieces have a home. “Alls well that ends well” Luv & hugz 💖

Gayle, I don't see how in the world you would ever stay ahead of those pine needles. 😮 "COOKIE!" in my best Cookie Monster voice. My boys love my CC cookies but I prefer a plain shortbread cookie. Good morning Ms Gayle what lovely covers. Waiting for the eclectic journal! When I’m able to get back in my studio I need to do 2 eclectic journals one neutral one green and need to be able to use Roxy the riveter in the green one. I am so behind on journals on top of these 2 need to be working on 3 mother/ baby journals and a spiritual journal. But it will all work out. Hope you and Mike have a wonderful day.

HI Gayle!! I believe I have a couple of those types of envelopes!! I don't order from Amazon but I did have co-workers who did and they would have the packages shipped to the office and they would give me the envelopes. Mostly the blue and white ones and the odd brown one. I don't have enough patterned paper scraps yet to make one of these but it is on my "to do" list!! Very pretty!! TFS!! Hugs, Liz:)

Nope, neither work. The long needles of the ponderosa pine work their way into every crack and crevice of our rock wall. Hand picking, it is! 🥴❤

I’m going to have to make one of these. Most of my Amazon comes in the blue and white plastic bubble packaging but I do have about two or three of the brown ones which I like better than the plastic ones. I use the blue and white ones for mailing out my journals.

I’ll fold them in half. I don’t seal these as it takes away from the “crunch” and “crinkle”. I have a playlist called “Journal Cover Series” that has lots of videos of all different kinds of journal covers, if you’re interested. ❤

I love to do collage like this. What size spine do you put in. I have packaging that i cut for a journal and also cut some heavy cardstock for a spine and front and back pieces. Do i actually need these pieces if i collage both sides?? Or do you just fold in half. I have three signatures.

I fold these in half for a one signature journal. 👍. If you’re doing a three signature, you’d need the spine. 😊❤

Do you go over these with matte medium or anything before you use them? And do you use a typical pamphlet stitch to attach your signatures or some other binding method? Thanks so much.

I don’t deal these covers as I want to maintain the “crunch”. And, yes, I use three hole pamphlet stitch on almost everything I do. ❤

Are you using both layers of package or did you separate it?

Both layers. I just cut the envelope in half, front and back, then to a 9 x 12 size and go! ❤

My advice for those getting started is hit your thrift stores, garage sales and estate sales. That’s what I did when I first started and am still using punches, stamps, etc. that I purchased there. Have fun with it! ❤
