All i did with mine was bypassed the saftey mechanism and now the jointer and thicknesser power on together without the need to keep changing the plastic dust extraction port. Works really well.
Thanks for that Andy wasn’t expecting a demo but very good of you seems like I do need one of these. Have just done a review of Lidles disc sander if your interested.
Hi A Andy . to adjust the jointer bed you don't need to remove the lock nut just slacken. Secondly the washer on the lock nut is the wrong way round, you will fine the bed lucks up solid it you flip it over, groove to machine side
Just bought one of these. Just leave the nut & washer off as it works without that in the dust port. Less messing about when swapping modes. Will be putting a video up shortly on my channel.
Hi Andy can I ask you do you still have your Titan thicknesser and planer and if so the Allen key screw on the dust hood one on left side or number 35 on page 26 of manual would you know the size of it. It says it’s an m5 but no length need to replace it on my one as missing hopefully you Might be able to help as I just need to know length or what size fits in it cheers steve
When using the thicknesser... The adjuster seems to wiggle free.. Is there a lock on it mate.. Only put about half a metre of oak flooring through and blades seem to have gona already I think.... Not sure though... Also can I flame on the jointer.. I tried to but seems to vibrate the boards like crazy and just makes a mess of the flooring
I have the Lumberjack version of this. The blades supplied are made out of toffee. I did about 6 pieces of door casing before they stopped cutting. Bought new blades and the replacements seemed much harder. That also solved the 'vibrating board' problem with the jointer.
Good vid but absolutely no need to put the nut and washer on, as the bottom bed has to be wound up tight to locate the safety catch, the plastic shroud can not move anywhere.
Having to fit and remove that lump of plastic for me was a nuisance that I couldn't cope with. So I py-passed the micro switch.Perhaps more dangerous but with care so much easier to use.
I’ve had one of these for about 18 months now and I find it a great bit of kit. I’m just one of those blokes who enjoys tinkering on in my shed making a few odds and sods as a hobby and for this it’s great just a shame every bugger in the village knows I’ve got one as I seem to have had a good majority of them popping round with a bit of wood under their arm!!
