Dang! The ole head busters strike again! Mike is going to have to cut a tuna door into the side of that yellowfin to haul these fish in! Awesome hunt! And some stud blacks and a heck of a dog! Good job fellas!
Amazing!! Jason, the level of intelligence that went into getting that fish out and making that dive a success is understated. The second good shot, getting the line off, the PH to end the fight and save the shaft and your body. I’ll say it again, Elite! Learn so much from watching your videos and thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Agreed. Couldn’t say it better. I tell people wanting to learn how to spearfish to watch these videos. Even if it’s not deep stuff, the method of hunting is perfect.
You may already know this, or heck, you may even do this already, but it's worth me mentioning. I have a recommendation for combating powerhead deflection on odd angle hits. Take a greater than or equal to 5/8" countersink bit to the muzzle end of your 3/8" pipe and chamfer the inside diameter to give the powerhead a little bit of a sharper edge. The sharper edge is more likely to "bite" into the fish and not deflect.
I have done that, but with the mold that I made it ends up flat. I would have to set up a new set of pipes with all of that already done with some epoxy in it and make a new mold. I usually don’t have much problems with angle shots. This one just moved, and it still went off just blew out the side.
At 2:39, it looks like you about put your left hand on a stone fish or something as you follow that big black. Not sure. Check it out. See what you think.
