In this video, I paint and add the finishing touches to the 3rd scratch built robot in this series.
This robot is constructed from a recycled 16oz drink bottle for the head and wheels, a used coffee K-cup for the main body, some plastic spoons from the arms, electrical wire for the fingers and various pipes and hoses, and many other small miscellaneous parts and pieces from my collection of goodies!
Thanks for watching and if you enjoy this video, please consider liking and subscribing to my channel. Also, stay tuned as we scratch build more robots, and various other props and models.

I think that robot old fit in well with the Star Wars Universe , great job Mark ... R0-80 would be a good name 😉 or ROBO , the Robot

Thanks! I'm an old school Star Wars fan (love the new stuff too) and I actually used some SW droids as inspiration for this and other builds. They are just too cool.

I really like the head on this robot. Great idea to use the bottom of the drink bottle. But all in all I like the worker robot the best of the three.

Thanks Neil! I love the worker robot as well. The inspiration for that one actually came from one of the first robots that I built several years ago. Perhaps I can share some info on that one in the future! Thanks for watching and commenting.

Great robot, I love the final result! Though given the title I had thought you were going to show a bit more of the distressing and weathering on this guy. Still, this was a great video all in all. I'm going to see if I can find one of your past videos where you show your build process on a scratchbuild project. Whatever that may be; a robot, a vehicle or something else entirely. Thanks for sharing, can't wait to see more of your content, keep on keeping on!!

Thank you Earl! For more details on the distressing and weathering, I recommend that you check out the video titled "From Junk to Robot", where I go into a bit more detail on that part of the project. Distressing is one of my favorite parts of any project. I'll try to provide more of that particular content in future videos so you can see my method for adding that grungy, distressed look! Thank you so much for the comment and awesome feedback!

I like the three robots. The paint jobs turned out great. If not to much to ask, how did you make the hands on the orange and white robots?
@makingwithmark
@makingwithmark Год назад
Hi Iscog, the hands are made of small pieces of scrap 14-gauge electrical wire that I had left over from a home renovation project. I made the palm out of a plastic spoon, and then super glued the "fingers" in place. I used baking powder along with the super glue to create a sort of weld to make it stronger, and to build out the hand. Then I cut tiny strips of sheet styrene and glued them to the tops of the fingers to imitate guards and to make them look more realistic. I hope this answers your question. I'm actually working on a new project for an upcoming video now in which I'll go through the hand-making step by step if you are interested in seeing how I did it. Thanks for watching and commenting and let me know if you have any other questions!

What Brand of paint and Brushes you use
@makingwithmark
@makingwithmark Год назад
Hi George. I typically use Folk Art, DecoArt, and Apple Barrel acrylic paints. These are all inexpensive and available at most department and hobby stores, as well as Amazon etc. I use generic, inexpensive brushes as well. Something like the Amazon Basics paint brush set for acrylic, oil, and watercolor paints or a comparable set.
