The makeup and hair in this video I believe was influenced by one of the golden era of Hollywoods it girl Clara Bow a song Taylor named after her. She was considered “mad” and was actually voluntarily institutionalized.
(Non-related) I hope, hope that you could react to Florida!!! Some of us have been wanting to see you react to Florence who also writes in blood like Taylor many times. We would be grateful!
Ok, Mad Woman and taking her time (back) wasn't about Joe or any romantic relationship though. It was about Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun who stole her work, and effectively years and years of her life. "Watching you climb, over people like me" doesn't track as a romantic situation for me. Also, I'm sorry for being a neurospicy pedantic here, but the style of black dress she wears in Fortnight only came around late in the 1800s. The Romantics all died in the first half of the 1800s 😬 I think the dress is a reference to her long time friend, Emma Stone's Oscar winning performance in the movie Poor Things. This was full Victoriana and the silhouettes are very close to the costumes in that movie. Over exaggerated, puffy shoulders especially. The story of the movie is also very similar to some if the Frankenstein, tortured/heartbroken women that came though in the music video. I agree with your other discussion of the Romantic Poets and Wordsworth. She has a really cool short discussion with Jack about The Lakes on The Long Pond Studios Sessions that I think you'd enjoy 😊
I agree with spending time in tranquility. As a "closetted poet", I know it takes time in tranquility for me to write meaningful poetry. When Im in a dark stage, I start to write some of my best poetry. But its raw, private and kinda all over the place. Because I use it as a tool to dump all my raw emotions when I feel stuck and my mind is just spinning. Its also cathardic in that moment. As the healing process continues afterwards, Im able to sit in tranquility and process those thoughts. Later, I can then go back and refine what was written, find the beauty in it and build the courage to share with loved ones. Now if only I could turn that stuff into music, it would be amazing to see 😊😄
Shes currently mourning the loss of her life- US. Shes quitting music bc of the Vipers which is us. We hurt her so much worse than kim ever did. The main subject is losing her love bc of us. Shes sad bc we never changed since high school. Aimee is referencing us in Wolves Clothing. She knew we would be listening to it.
Hmm.. interesting take but I’m not too sure about that. She does reference her fans not likely Matty multiple times in the album but she also is very honest about him not really being a good guy and she thought she could change him but she couldn’t. And he didn’t live up to the promises he made her. Thank you aimee is most definitely about Kim. It’s very obvious as it’s not a recent betrayal she’s talking about but how she built herself up again overtime. And how she’s stronger and better off because of what happened
How do you, as a therapist, feel about the (in-)actions of Taylor Swift during the advertisement period of this album? She made comments, and dropped lyrics which (involuntarily?) fueled the hate towards Joe Alwyn (who, if you take everything in her lyrics for being the truth, apparently suffers from depression). He received death threats, people harassed women who were connected to him professionally, people made AI videos of him saying stuff from the album promotion to incite even more hate etc. Not once did she put out at least a statement like she did for John Mayer during the Speak Now TV announcement. I totally understand that he didn't commit to the relationship as much as she needed, didn't show up for her events etc., but none of that justifies literal death threats, even if people are only "joking" (one really shouldn't joke about stuff like that). I would love to hear your opinion, as a therapist! ❤
According to Ryan Reynolds, Joe cheated on Taylor. There are references to that behavior in a couple of different places in TTPD. I think a few of the more rabid Swifties were aware of that and chose to protect their Queen in every way possible. And no, I don't condone that at all...but Taylor has no control over those elements among her fans.
@@jimward204she does have a responsibility to speak out. And no. There aren't any lyrics about Joe that said that he cheated. Not in this album, or any of the 5 albums she did when they were together. If he had cheated, no one would be guessing about it. She'd make it SUPER clear in many songs. And if toxic fans didn't pick up what she was putting down in But Daddy I Love Him, then I don't know what to say to those fans. Except they need help for their delusions. When Taylor herself admits to not being perfect (like every other human being on the planet), it's incredibly toxic to pretend she is and to send death threats to someone she clearly loved deeply.
@@jimward204 there is a difference between cheating and death threads. especially towards someone with depression. this kind of "protection" needs to stop. and the only way i see is ts posting a statement.
@@jimward204where did you read that from Ryan Reynolds? I've seen it referenced many times, but no one was able to provide a source. And the references on the new album were not clearly linked to Joe ("my husband is cheating" why would she refer to him as her husband when one of the reasons for the break up was that he didn't want to marry her? The black dog is after a break up, so no cheating, besides the fact that there are hints that it's about Matty Healy not Joe Alwyn. I can't think of any other cheating references right now, i'll look at the lyrics again, when i find the time).
