SCRATCHES! I Messed Up My Instrument Cluster With A Micro Fiber Towel - Can I Fix It?

Nice video thanks! Would like to add...When it comes to the Uconnect screen & Inst. cluster I use a microfiber but its a one and done. I will not reuse the cloth in that manner. I have been using a clear liquid made specifically for computer screens. Been working for me without swirls or marks. Keep those video's coming!

An original product I used for many years is NOVUS plastic scratch remover comes in 3 pack for light scratches, med to heavy scratches & a cleaner I generally only use the bottle for light scratches it does an excellent job every time, my issue was recently cleaned my inst cluster lense with damp paper towels then dried it with paper towels I generally dont much at all clean the lense in fear I would scratch it nonetheless started seeing too much dust collecting on it so I cleaned it up with the damp paper & dry paper towels after that it left an eyesore of light & cloudy scratches all over it, I believe because I waited too long to clean the lense the dust acted as an abrasive scratching it up much but I plan on taking the inst cluster out of my truck to do the job right not having to worry about getting any of the product I use getting on other trim plastics & again I use NOVUS the best on the market they been around for 40+ years I wouldnt use anything else & most amazing results it leaves love the product...

Mine is extremely cloudy from scratches after cleaning with a Magic Eraser! After reading up on Magic Erasers, they are banned at my house! I can’t wait to try this!

I buffed those deep scratches out with a small buffer.

Will this work on my Uconnect screen? I did the exact same thing on my screen cleaning finger prints off with a micro fiber cloth. It is not a deep scratch but its about an inch long.

So, like you said, it's likely just a temporary fix for headlights. Does that mean it can be considered as a permanent fix for an instrument cluster?

Does this work on the navigation/radio screen?

For deeper scratches I think meguiars scratch x would be good.

The product that I found which works and removes light scractches after testing several scratch remover products to no avail, was QUIXX ACRYLIC SCRATCH REMOVER!! For deeper scratches you will have to sand the scratch until it disappears.

Too expensive in the UK and very hard to obtain! Use Mothers insted!!

For deeper scratches u gotta keep doing more and more coat's

• First, brush off any screen you are cleaning with a super soft detailing or makeup brush to remove grit • Second only use super plush, hemless microfiber towels, dedicated only to cleaning screens • No waffle weave towels, no edges/hems, no towels used for any other purpose

You scratch the plastic with a micro fiber towel, then proceed to use a micro fiber towel to try to remove it. I would have used a soft polishing cloth or even a soft cotton cloth myself to remove the scratch.

You prob grabbed some dirt with your microfiber and scratched, very doubtfull the microfiber cloth caused the scratch.
