I think you guys missed it in the beginning but when randy was in class and they were discussing movie sequels with the teacher, Cici and Mickey were there too. That’s how Mickey knows everyone. They have classes together. Mrs Loomis paid his college tuition so he could attend the school and help to carry out her revenge plan.
Which is subjectively hilarious because he’s mostly merely the comic relief character. It is pretty rare people actually end up liking the joke characters.
It was the 90s and I believe “Exposure Therapy” was a heavily practiced “therapy” though we now know it isn’t as simple as being exposed to your triggers and ta-da you’re fixed
Oh, she was being melodramatic. She only had to give a testimony at the trial of her mom's rape-homicide, witnessed her friends get murdered, lost her virginity to one of the two men who did it all, and got brutally attacked multiple times. Hardly anything
Don't say stupid things, he hadn't bad intentions at all, he gives her a sympathetic, motivational speech that helped Sidney realize that she is a fighter, and that she could handle whatever obstacles came her way.
Sarah Michelle Gellar at time starred in two of the horror films that revitalized the slasher genre (Scream 2 and I Know What You Did Last Summer), both films written by Kevin Williamson. The Scream franchise has a tendency to bring on big TV stars into the cast (Aunt Jackie from Roseanne, Monica from Friends, SMG who played Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Neve Campbell from Party of Five). Great franchise!
@@brdsx5065 Then again, there are several scenes across the franchise that are meant to be left up to interpretation as to whether ghostface is there or if it's in Sidney's mind. i.e. the bathroom scene in 1, the scene at the Roberts' house in 4 right after Sidney's talk with Jill.
Mickey was the Ghostface that got into Sids head most. He basically tortured her the entire movie, playing mind games to the point where she changes her name and goes into hiding because she can't trust one single person.
PERIOD! Like Everything about it goes so hard. The length of the movie, how different it is from the other sequels. All of the lore that it creates for the series movie forward, like the Stab franchise. So many iconic scenes and actors. Even the killer reveal. The fact that Mrs. Loomis was the first killer to deliberately kill her accomplis. It’s just so many interesting things to look at in the film that it’s easy to watch repeat viewing and find something you didn’t notice before. I always call bullshit when people say it’s not their fav or at least second fav because it just has that much to offer.
Agreed that 3 gets too much hate... While it's not my favorite, I do love it.. It's the funniest one and also has the most jump scares of any in the series. The final fight scene is also fantastic.....
While I generally believe that the first Scream is the _best_ movie in the franchise (And will never be topped.), Scream 2 is my _favorite._ I too love sooo much about it, including the reasons you’ve already listed, as well as the fact that it actually has some diversity (4 black characters VS 3 & 4 each having 1 and the OG with 0.) and I was *obsessed* with Sarah Michelle Gellar when it came out (I’m a HUGE Buffy fan.) so that gave it major bonus points for me. LOL. There are many other reasons, but I don’t wanna go on about it forever. LOL. While I have my preferences and each film certainly have strengths and weaknesses, I genuinely love all 5 films and I cannot wait for 6! (And hopefully 7!!)
This is my favorite scream sequel this does a lot of things differently compared to the other films . Like the opening and third act not taking place at a house. There’s so many iconic sequences like gales chase scene or Sidney escaping the car with having to go over ghostface.
True true. If scream 6 is as good as the trailer, it might be my fav sequel. But if a movie has an amazing trailer, most likely it won’t be as amazing.
@@regeneratedwitch it does have that potential to be my favorite sequel but with no Sidney it’s like idk maybe third favorite. I’m going in with modest expectations cause I went in with high expectations for 5 and got disappointed even tho I still like it.
@@BrandonJames2016 my expectations with 5 weren’t high, it was just high enthusiasm but it wasn’t that bad in my opinion. But 6…? Im going head on thanks to that amazing trailer. Idc that Sidney’s not into it since Gale and Kirby are there. I just care about a good movie. ❤️
@@regeneratedwitch yeah I think Gale and Kirby can hold their own and fill the void of no Sidney but she still would’ve been great to see. This will definitely be the most unique scream movie and that already is very exciting.
Fun fact, the orginal script for Scream 2 was leaked during production so Wes Craven and the studio had to change the ending in regards to who the killer(s) were. Orginally it was suppose to be Hallie and Mickey but because of the leak they had to switch the 2nd killer Hallie for Mrs. Lommis. Also, in the scene where Cici (Sarah Michelle Gellar) was talking to her friend before the killer called, her friend that she was speaking with was actually Selma Blair. Lastly, Cici's death was suppose to be more brutal and gory. The killer didn't kill her by stabbing her twice and throwing her off the 2nd story balcony of her sorority house Omega Beta Zeta, initially the killer was going to gut her the same way Billy and Stu killed Cassie Becker in the first Scream. The killer was then going to hang Cici from a tree in the back yard of one of the sorority houses on the same block and then the scene were Sidney gets her first phone call from Ghostface and then chases throughout the other sorority house was to play out exactly the same way with the exception instead of running into Derek at the sliding case door she was going to keep on running until she found herself in the back yard of another sorority house where she then was to find Cici dead hanging from a tree with her insides on the outside like Cassie Becker in the first Scream.
Fun fact the original killers were Derek the boyfriend hallie the best friend and mrs loomis. But script got leaked so they changed it to Mickey and mrs loomis
Mickey and Cici were both in the same Film Theory class as Randy so Mickey knows CiCi. The first three kills were copycat kills as Gale discusses in one of the scenes.
its crazy in first watching not many people notice that we can see mickey with a cam corder in his hand filming stuff when press conference is happening and later we see footage that the killer is filming his victims before he kills them kind of a smoking gun lol. Plus look at how he looks his face looks sinister like billy's when he's standing there in those shots but were paying attention to Sidney and others and Dewey popping up lol
The opening scene makes more sense when you find out there was originally supposed to be 3 killers in the unrevised script. Hallie the roommate was the 3rd killer and you originally thought it was another duo and then boom, misses loomis is the 3rd. Especially since there was 3 GhostFace in the bathroom at the theater.
I love Scream 4 and Scream 5 so I can't wait for you guys to get to it. Also, can we talk about how all of Sidney's high-school friends died in the first movie and then she has to watch her new college friends die as well? She really has no luck :\
58:35 Gale figured out why they were killed first towards the middle of the movie. Jadas character was Maureen evens, her man’s name was something Stevens, and Sarah Michelle’s character was CiCi aka Casey so it was a copycat from the first one. Maureen, Steven, then Casey were the first victims so it was a copy cat for the first 3 victims.
58:28 actually the opening kills are kinda related to the main characters in some way! scream (casey was sydney's seatmate, casey is stu's ex), scream 2 (maureen evans & phil stevens attended the same university as sydney and were named after the past victims. and so is cici = casey is her real name and she's classmates with mickey and randy. it was a plan hence "copycat killer" label.)
You guys have to be living under a rock! How have you not heard about the Scream Franchise? With RU-vid and TV commercial trailers & existing parodies, surely you have more knowledge about these movies than you let on. I am a HUGE fan of authentic reactions. I really hope you two have zero entail into how these films play out. As a horror movie fanatic, It boggles my mind that people have never seen these films, or at least heard about what happens in them. Anyway, great reactions guy's. 👍
I remember when i found out Billy’s mom was the killer I was so confused I was like who tf is that? 😂😂😂 never really even recognized her throughout the movie
I’m very excited for y’all’s reaction to 4! It’s my personal favorite after the original and I cannot wait! Of course I’m excited for the whole franchise because it’s my favorite
Between just outright watching and watching reactions to it (Scream reactions are comfort watches to me for some reason. 🤷🏼) I have seen this movie approximately 5,000 times (This isn’t even my first time watching you two’s reaction!) and, thanks you two, I now _finally_ know where I know Cici’s sorority sister from! (I dunno how I missed this info the first time I watched your reaction, but somehow I did!) Vegas Vacation!! She always looked sooo familiar and I knew I’d seen her in _something_ but I never had any idea what! So thank you sooo much for that!!
Apparently there was originally going to be 3 or 4 killers - Mrs Loomis, Derek and Haley. And possibly Cotton. Mickey was not going to be a killer and he’d actually have been in love with Haley, and saved Sidney, with both Derek/Haley killing him.
the girl with the curly hair is rebecca gayheart! you should check out 'urban legend' and 'jawbreaker' - she's in those (and tatum, sydney's bestie from the first scream is also in jawbreaker). also yes she was married to eric dane for 14 years (they broke up in 2018)
Yay! You guys were cracking me up. A lot of reactors try to guess the killers and end up naming almost everyone (but you are better than most so far - great instincts and attention to detail!) 😂 The whodunnit is the best part of the franchise, but you guys were guessing *victims*. Way funnier than it should have been 😜 The first time I saw this the opening scene made me sick to my stomach. Being murdered in a room full of people and no one realizes 😱 Gale and Dewey 4ever 💘 Not sure if you know, but the actors were married in real life for 10 years and have a daughter 😁
Don’t take this personally or offensively but as a fan of the franchise and a viewer who loves watching new people experience these movies, literally showing your wife and yourself the covers of the future sequels essentially spoiling the fact that Sidney Dewey and Gale make it all the way to the 5th movie pissed me all the way off. 😂😂😂 Like what the hell man!! I already didn’t like that you told her in the 1st reaction that you knew Dewey and Gale survived cus you saw them on the 2nd movies cover but I was hoping she forgot. Now you straight up showed her all 4 covers 😅😅 Suspense of the franchise characters and whether they die are now gone. That’s half the fun 😭😭😭😭
We totally get it lol. Unfortunately after the movie ended, you get those pop ups of the next films on Prime Video so it was difficult to hide and we try to be as transparent as possible with you guys 😀 But even if we know who lives, we often find ourselves questioning it because of what happens in the films, keep an eye out for the rest of the films over the next few weeks, you would never know that we know who lives based on our reactions lol. We love this franchise now! 😀
@@FanPops SOO HAPPY to hear you guys are fans. I remember watching this movie as a little girl and now I’m 30 years old and it’s still my favorite franchise ever and I can’t wait for the 6th movie where I’ll be wearing my Scream shirt. My bf says he’s never met a bigger fan. 😂
Going forward, we can now tell you that, no matter what age, gender, height, girth Ghostface is, or what he or she was wearing 30 seconds earlier, Ghostface is always, ALWAYS 5'10", black jeans, black doc boots, black gloves. Always. So you can't figure out who Ghostface is by their physical shape or what they're wearing outside of the costume.
8:25 they aren’t there just because Sidney is. The two first victims went to school there as well. The fact Sidney went there, too, was just convenient.
neve campbell's facial expressions are sometimes worth the whole scene, without being obtrusive. randy.. goodbye (and see you again, friend!).Finally, it's unbelievable how famous Jerry O'Connell was back in the day!Today..not so much!
Yes... it did explain. Her name was Maureen. Maureen Prescott was the original first kill... Jada was a Maureen. So too was the name the same of her bf and the second kill in the original. They tell u that...
Contraversial yet brave opinion: the 3rd film is the 2nd best. The first will always be first in my heart but 3? It’s everything. It’s camp. It’s horror. It’s like a time capsule when you watch it.
Yeah I love part 3 since it was my first scream movie but I do have it low cause it’s not good as the others but it’s the most entertaining (aka Parker Posley).
It's an entertaining film, but the overt silliness (which also permeates Scream 4) is what brings 3 down a notch for me. Still, it's a VERY solid entry and has its share of stellar setpieces (Sid on the soundstage, chaos at the mansion, etc).
The only movie I’ll always skip and I pretend it doesn’t exist. Clever concept, ambitious but awful writing, directing and execution. There was no horror in that, it had no place in the trilogy. If it was the 4th or 5th I’d let it pass but the 3rd? Honey no.
Mickey the freaky tarateno film student and the reporter that's constantly asking gale questions and points out the killer is watching relishing every moment lol.
So they killed Jada, her boyfriend, and cici only because they had the same names as the first 3 victims in Woodsboro. 1. Maureen Prescott - Maureen Evans 2. Steve - Phil Stevens 3. Casey Becker - Casey “Cici” Cooper
You’re right about the sorority girls, one Mary McSteamy and the other married Ellen DeGeneres, believe it or not I never knew that was Portia De Rossi until years later
Making the boyfriend the killer in the second movie would be bad writing so it's automatically not him. They have to do something different each movie, it's a mystery thriller so they have to have red herrings and for that reason I wouldn't even look in his direction.
