What if one of them were talking to Danny he could secretly be a Ghostface and be the first one to make it to another movie?

Hey Cody the Ethan thing makes perfect sense it was for a alibi plus he is an actor just like his brother, sister and father. Oh also the Danny character is an aspiring actor too by the way so he can secretly be a Ghostface killer but not revealed till the next movie.

The Ethan Character & Quinn the Third 3rd Ghostface killer on the subway train with Mindy made sense why he left Her alive only to build a possible stronger alibi if he was among Her, Sam, Tara, Chad & the rest of the group If he has Mindy’s TRUST then it would throw off suspicion from Samantha and the others. Maybe possibly only to spare her here to have her killed with the rest of her friends to show Samantha’s failure And proof that she is a killer.

I like the opening scene but it would've been cool to see a Scream movie where one of the killers is revealed from the start and we see them infiltrate the friend group. It would've also given us the chance to see one of the protagonists actually kill/unmask Ghostface before the finale

Even though I loved the movie I can say Chad had some unbelievable plot armor the biggest plot armor in a recent horror movie so far.
@howardroark3736
@howardroark3736 Год назад
True, but the same can be said of Dewey in the original trilogy. He gets practically disemboweled in the first two movies (especially the second one) and still somehow survives when he gets medical attention hours later.
@Surgemaster2012
@Surgemaster2012 Год назад
@@howardroark3736 it's really the context between how Dewey and Chad's plot armors were laid out. With Dewey in Scream 1 he just got a stab in the back, and while Scream 2 ups the plot armor, it isn't on the same level as Chad. Chad literally gets multiple stabs from almost every part of his body by more than 1 ghostface in a film where Ghostface is at his most brutal. The leaps in armor there is above anything with Dewey. And at least with Dewey those plot armors began to run their course as each movie progressed and culminated into him having nerve damage and walking with a limp by 2022. Dewey also wasn't well enough to get up and kiss Gale when being wheeled out either. It also contradicts other character deaths, since the original idea behind Randy's death was to retcon it in Scream 3 with the video tape scene being replaced with his appearance entirely which was going to be explained away with he was in hiding. But they decided against that since it would be unrealistic.

The only killer that was SUPER OBVIOUS to me was Ethan. If my roommate explained to me, "There's a killer after me and he'll kill me and everyone associated with me!" my reaction wouldn't be to continue to tag along with them! Especially if said murders began to happen to their other roommates. Watching the movie, Ethan kept coming back to join them and I kept thinking, "WHY ARE YOU HERE!? WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?" Obviously, to kill them himself! But nothing irritated me more than, after the unmasking, everyone was suddenly a moustache-twirling cackling Villain of the Week -- Laughing maniacally and acting all crazy and shit... I mean obviously if you plan to murder others, you've got a level of crazy to you, but you don't have to go full Zaney. Last gripe: Sam stabs Ethan like, 6 times in the chest before being chased up onto that balcony... but minutes later, Ethan is under Tara, swinging his knife around and cackling like a moron. Like, stabbing doesn't seem to matter at all in this movie unless it suddenly does. It drove me crazy.

I do think Nancy Loomis had the best Ghostface reveal because she had the element of surprise behind her. Yes you could suspect her being the GF, with how she acts around Gale and whatnot. But the reveal was about her being Billy's mother and using a different alias entirely, rather than knowing if she was GF or not. Which first time viewers wouldn't know. Since they don't really give much hints at her being Billy's mother. Plus Mickey as her accomplice with his own motive as well really helped since it was used as a way to draw off suspicion to herself, as Mickey doing the bulk of the kills allowed us to draw off attention to her. With Scream 6, they throw way too many hints that it is somehow connected to Richie, especially with how much of Sam's GF calls were using Richie's number. Plus DetectIve Bailey was too obvious! I do like Scream IV a lot tough, it is up there for my favorite film of the franchise. It is probably below the original to me. To be fair, I always saw the killer's Ghostface persona as having some amount of powers of its own, since once they are revealed, a lot of their reflexes, speed and whatnot go away.

There're so many inconsistencies to Detective Bailey's involvement on top of Gale not discovering Richie' Parents are. At least for Scream 2, Sydney has met Billy's Mom in the past which adds more depth to the Loomis and Prescott lore. Richie's involvement wasn't that deep with Sam since she never met any of Richie's family, and for them to suddenly jump in for revenge doesn't do as well as Scream 2 killer motive.

I actually guessed the killer's in Scream 5 from the trailers and posters. I'm usually good at predicting who the bad guy is for movies but I had no clue who it was in Scream VI. I originally thought it was maybe Stu because I noticed the hints they threw in this movie but ruled out Ethan because of the Subway scene it made no sense to me. I didn't really notice all the silly moments in the third act because I thinking why did Ethan help Mindy. I also was not surprised that Chad survived. I just had a feeling at the end. I agree he should have died based on how much he was stabbed, plus all of the time that he was laying there bleeding out.

I think you got this 100% accurately. I too was wondering if this was the best sequel until the scene in Gale's apartment. The moment when we didnt see her definitively die, i knew she'd survive and i groaned. Right then I knew there wasn't going to be any stakes in the film. It nosedived at the end of that scene for me.
@Dragnix
@Dragnix Год назад
On the first plot hole regarding the apartment, I thought it would have been revealed later on that someone had been recording/monitoring the Core 4 specifically thinking that Sam was the killer and was trying to catch her in the act. That would have played to the social outcast/paranoia themes presented in the early going, and it would have made sense at that point for the killers to use that to their advantage in the case that maybe one of them got outed/revealed that a death wasn't actually true. It never got mentioned again, which sucks because I feel that could have really elevated the idea that the world has got it out for Sam and that she's really in a bind due to the online element, and for me would have made that scene make a lot more sense in hindsight.

Regarding Gale's investigative skills in regards to Richie's family. Remember Richie's name was Richie Kirsch in Scream 5 --- My theory is that Richie actually changed his last name. It's possible that Gale never found out about Richie's father or his siblings, because Richie's last name was either fake or his mom's maiden name and his background info was either fake or incomplete. Meanwhile, I think Detective Wayne Bailey's last name is actually Bailey... This explains why Ethan changes his name to Ethan "Landry". So that he wasn't connected to Detective Bailey and his daughter. It wouldn't make sense for Ethan to change his identity from Kirsch to Bailey, only to change it again to Landry. It's much more likely that Richie changed his last name or had a different last name, hence disconnecting him from his father's side of the family. I can't explain every plothole lol but that's one thing I can probably try to forgive

First of all, great vid. Very in-depth. For me, the amount of people surviving brutal stab wounds was the biggest problem with this movie. It really bugged me by the end. I'm mixed on the plotholes that you spotted though.. 1) I didn't mind the killers continuing to act in character when they were alone with each other. I can imagine the leader really drumming it into them the importance of not slipping up even once during this film. I bet he made the others stay in character even at the dinner table in the weeks leading up to the film's events. Detectives are sticklers for detail. 2) Gail not recognising Bailey is hard to explain away. Would she have definitely seen him before though? I'm not 100% tbh so I can just about let it go 3) I think the killer meant to kill Mindy on the train, and when he didn't, I think he panicked and went back into geek character, just in case some of her friends were running up on the platform. I might need to see this scene again tbh. I think Ethan's indecisive behaviour here though would make more sense in the real world than in a movie (where generally character actions are supposed to be clear cut and easy to follow). 4) Sam allowing the leader the chance to get up and having one last end game was pure bullshit. Totally agree

Secondly no, you are not the only one who had solved the "Mastermind" Ghostface, I also was pretty certain of it. Lastly here are my pros and cons to this film and fans who have seen this film, let me know if you agree or disagree Spoilers Obviously !!!!!!!!! Pros -Tara and Sam as the lead characters -The Setting -The increased gore -The entire Subway Scene (really well done and amps up the anxiety factor) -The Billy Loomis visions (He was my favorite Ghostface along Stu so maybe some bias here lol) Cons -While kills got gorier, I was expecting more creative kills to take place by the time of a 6th movie and it didn't happen -Chad came off unnecessarily aggressive towards everyone when it came to protecting Tara -The whole Chad and Tara Romance thing -Scream 6 erases the growth that Gale went through in Scream 5 and she goes back to being the annoying journalist -Identities and motivations of Ghostafaces (With Scream being incredibly self aware I was hoping that they would pick up on who the obvious choices for the killers were and instead go for something bold and creative but I guess not) -Detective Bailey (Incredibly dull, boring and generic) -By far my least favorite thing in this movie is how getting stabbed no longer means anything, everyone is surviving and running around despite being stabbed many times or stabbed real deep (A prime example of this would be how we come to find out Chad is perfectly fine after Scream 5 and how he also somehow survives the events of Scream 6)

I believe that Stu very much could be alive. In Scream 5 they have Dewey mention that Stu “IS” a killer not “WAS” & they made it intentional to point out that Stu was the 2nd killer in the opening. Then in Scream 6 aside from Kirby and Mindy’s talk about Stu possibly being alive they had Ghostface tell Gale something along the lines of We haven’t officially spoken to each other. Yeah that could be Quinn but I don’t think it is. Also if you rewatch Dewey’s death scene and listen carefully it’s not Amber he’s fighting. Dewey is walking Richie to the door when Ghostface attacks. The grunts that are coming out of Ghostface when Dewey is fighting him off at the hospital are Male. I think Stu killed Dewey in Scream 5 & since nether her not Richie knew who that was Amber took the credit of killing Dewey. Stu also tried to kill Gale in her chase scene and almost succeeded. In the first Scream Stu knew she was in his home but never interacted with Gale. Tatum kicked her out seconds later hence “We never officially spoke to each other” comes in. Maybe I’m off but it wouldn’t surprise me if Stu isn’t focused on anyone new and is just going after the original trio each time a new Ghostface appears. In Scream 5 no one was REALLY after Sidney, Gale, or Dewey. Dewey just got involved with Sam’s situation and both Sidney & Gale put themselves in that situation after his death.

You would think that prior to Richie getting killed, at least none of the children have killed anyone. So now Richie is killed they all turn into Ghostface killers? Naaaah And not sure if it matters but Mindy at the end did say she was hopped up on a ton of drugs and that’s why she didn’t feel any pain from the stab wound.

And as for Quinns bedroom scene. I'm thinking she was on the phone with her dad and could have been talking about anything. All she says is "I know she's my roommate, but you're like....the police!". So there's context we're missing. I think her and Ethan may have planned it. Or maybe she didn't know Ethan was there. GF goes in the bathroom, he kills Quinns boyfriend who was showering. Then came out, put the prosthetic slit throat piece on Quinn bringing her up to speed, took the pics to send to the core 4 and the rest plays out. Again, I'm just looking for answers cause stuff like this bothers me too lol This whole scene reminded me of when stu fake kills Billy and we were convinced he's was dead.

on why ethan would not want to reveal his identity as a GF to Mindy after she gets stabbed: She's obviously still alive, so if Ethan acts like GF, she could either tell the cops (when a bystander on the subway inevitably notices her injury gets her help) and call/text everyone to let them know about Ethan, which gives him away and takes away a lot of the power that GFs have by being unidentified. I think it makes perfect sense for him to keep up the charade if he's not 100% sure that she's going to die (which he wasn't) before she gets help or contacts her friends.

I completely agree that the final act after the reveal tanked this movie. My wife and I like to speculate on who we think will be the killer and even debate the evidence given. I suggested to her early in the movie that the cop guy was the killer because he has access to all the evidence and he’s old enough to spend decades collecting it. I was desperately hoping I was wrong. The only thing diverting my attention from the cop and daughter being the ghost faces, was the constant evidence building to Stu possibly coming back. It felt really cheap like a bait n switch. They drew our attention to Stu being the killer on multiple occasions then gave us the weakest, flimsiest motives and killers of the whole franchise. To add to your valid list of gripes. I hated that the sisters were chillin on the stage talking while Kirby was bleeding out nearby, especially knowing they did it for that bullshit final scare.

If the writers decided to make the killer the “hookup/ boyfriend” instead of Quinn, it could potentially have cleared up some plot holes.The Quinn scene would’ve potentially eliminated suspension of him since he took the picture and sent it to Sam. Ethan still could’ve killed her since he was “at class”. This also fixes the height and strength issues with Gale’s scene (where she’s should’ve died, but she didn’t die in scream 2 and followed that plot beat) Once Sam tells him off because he’s not core woodsboro, that gives him more leeway come the third act.

In Mindy's commentary about horror sequels, she clearly tells them they aren't just in a sequel anymore, they're in a franchise. I immediately went to the Fast and Furious cos the characters there have plot armor. That's why I just went with it here in Scream 6 as they are spoofing not just sequels, but franchises. I also feel like that Dermot Mulroney's delivery of the dialogue was intentional. I got Debbie Salt/Nancy Loomis vibes from him, which is why for me that was a tell that Bailey was the killer. Debbie Salt was very peculiar the first time I watched Scream 2, so is Bailey. And this whole thing where he got over the death of Quinn as quick as he did. That was a telling. And the whole motivation was about revenge, the same thing with Mrs. Loomis in Scream 2. Chad and Mindy of course are awesome, so is Sam and Tara and the actors that play them. And of course Hayden Panettiere as Kirby. We need more of her in the next film. The filmmakers really utilized the NYC setting to it's fullest potential and obviously better than Jason Take Manhattan. And I like the fact that movie was playing on a TV....that was a nice Easter egg. I'd say Scream 6 is a solid entry into this franchise.

another thing that made no sense to me that i don’t think you mentioned is this: whenever Quinn is “killed” and it shows her Dad all distraught i always wondered how he snuck it past all of the EMTs/police/detectives that she wasn’t really dead 🤔

Cool and brutal Ghostface, good kills but that doesn't matter when all the main characters are invincible and in my opinion the meta stuff is once again like in 5 horribly written the 3rd act was messy and this movie needed Sidney

I thought it was Quinn in one of her first scenes when she mentioned losing her brother. 🙄 when a random throwaway comment is mentioned and then never addressed again it’s like Chekhov’s gun

To address two of the plotholes (1) When ghostface is standing over Quinn, I interpret this as Ethan had been in there the whole time and just got dressed up. He wasn’t intending to hover over her. But when he saw that the guy across the street saw it, he knew he had to play it like she didn’t know he was there. (2) When Ethan was helping Mindy, this makes sense if Ethan thinks Mindy might survive. He has to play it as if he isn’t the killer. And not being in costume, he obviously can’t finish her off. Also, he may not be sure that their job in killing Sam is going to be done that evening. If the ghostface killings continue on into the next day, with Mindy alive, she needs to be under the impression that he is not the killer.

But then who was the bogus phone conversation between father & daughter for? Obviously, they knew this was staged dialogue.

@@Stan198812 From what I remember, we only heard snippets of dialogue in that scene between Quinn and Bailey, and it was enough to be ambiguous as to the nature of the call. If anything on the call was said in order to give the appearance of innocence, perhaps they intended their friends to overhear, or even the guy in the shower.

Richie had a surname Kirsh while Officer Bailey was Wayne Bailey, knowing that he enrolled Ethan in shool with diffrent surname it isn't much of a stretch for Gale to not find Richie family, the metro scene could hint that Ethan wanted alibi after they convinced everyone that Sam was ghostface cus all people on metro saw it was Ethan who helped her which means that even if Mindy would accuse him of being Ghostface they could (Richie family) spin as something else.

I think I can forgive the subway scene because it was for Mindy, so that way Mindy doesn’t call or text Chad to let them know that it was Ethan. If she were to live that is.

I think when Dermot Mulroney called Sam not to trust the FBI chick I began to suspect him but then again there were clues through out like the way he just looked so evilly. But when they established that anyone can be a killer you begin to become suspicious of everyone and I think that’s what the film wanted you to do. And as a sidenote, remember this, just because you figured out who the killer is, doesn’t mean, it’s a plot hole .

Also it would of been way cooler and interesting if they reviewed the killer at the beginning and throughout the whole movie, we knew who it was.

I’ll slightly forgive the Ethan/Mindy stab scene where Ethan pretends to be helpful but I forgive it slightly because it’s a public area(really doesn’t matter) but since Mindy still alive he has to help her or he’s just given himself away to Mindy if he doesn’t help her and she’s lives on
@lestermillet9820

The most logical explanation I can think for how no one knew what richie’s family looked like was that that information was not released to the public. Since Bailey was in fact a cop he could have had some kind of deal where that could be kept secret to protect the rest of the family. In scream 5 Gale does say she wants to make her next book more about Dewey, so her book is most likely the events of 5 but with more a focus and celebration of Dewey, while also throwing shade at Sam for getting Dewey involved. I see it as she doesn’t give the killers much credit or exposure in the book, but it still makes Sam look bad and adds to the constant conspiracy theories surrounding her.

with the subway scene If he had just taken off that would have been a major red flag for her so I think the reason he "helped" her was because someone on the train will see her and get help anyways and/or he could tell that she would survive and needed to trick her that way she wouldn't get more suspicious and tell the friends.

Regarding the scene in the subway, maybe Ethan starts helping Mindy because he sees she’s still alive. If he walks away and she survives, would be the confirmation she needed that he is ghost face.

During the subway scene, I found it odd that Chad wasn't worried about his sister. Chad was keeping Ethan close bc he was suspicious of him and he knew his sister already felt like Ethan was the killer. Now only the two of them were left behind... There would have been no way I would have left that train station at least waiting for the next train to arrive and wait for my sister.
